Every morning on CNN, a bit of a commercial comes on and the boy yells "I'm don't have to!"

Every day and every morning without fail while I watch CNN, in between normal commercials and the broadcast, a boy comes on and yells "I don't have to!" It happens over and over again several times every single day. I think they leave it on because it is really loud and makes you look at the tv. I believe there is a correllation to when they are just about to run one of their buy Cox, Cox is better that satillite type of commercials. And it happens all the time on CNN Channel 22 in Santa Barbara. Please fix it.

Are you sure your complaint is with Cox and not CNN? You don't mention it happening on other channels...just channel 22.

If it were Cox doing this why would it only be on CNN? Why wouldn't they do it on the others?

I wish I still had Comcast because Cox SUCKS!

I have had service with Cox for the last few months now and have never had a day where there wasn't a problem with my service. I hope someone from Cox reads this. If You live in Fairfax County Virginia get satellite because Cox service is horrible. Considering their services, will cause you nothing but frustration and wasted time. My opinion is that they are very willing to take your money for their service and give you lousy product. Their commercials show satisfied customers but everyone I know that has had their service had dropped it and gone to Fios or satellite. Do not be fooled.

Cox holding back bandwidth

It appears that COX is holding back bandwidth such that you can not even watch simple news videos online anymore.....they then try to convince you that their "enhanced" services (which cost lots more) will solve the problem. This was not the case when I first signed up. They were good and fast then. But not now. Some *** short-sighted VP is trying to make his mark by screwing customers at the ultimate expense of the company once the FCC gets involved. Too bad the SCC does not have jurisdiction. It is only up to the County officials who get big campaign contributions from COX and the FCC. We have to pressure everyone to stop this blackmail.

I live in ahenderson, NV. My video streaming and online gaming with Cox internet dropped to useless in January 2010. They blamed every piece of equipment I own, the services I was trying to get, etc.

I had Cox's 12Meg service. I finally got rid of them and got 10 Meg service. Everything works perfectly now. I didn't need the change a thing (which I knew).

Cox doesn't seem to realize people can use tools to determine if their bandwidth is being throttled, or ports are being throttled. Measurement Labs online tools spotted this out for me real quick. I tried to tell Cox this... but it was my fault. They even tried to tell me their own internal speed test site was throttling my connection. They didn't realize I knew that was their internal web site.

Good riddance to Cox. It's a shoddy scam that's sinking real fast.

Cox can't fix our internet/phone/cable

I spent 2 hours on the phone today with Cox. Our phone, internet and cable service went out before noon and are still out. They can't get anyone out till tomorrow evening-no technicians that work late they all quit at 6:00. Also I had to talk to a tech for each service! We've had internet issues for over a year and the techs that come out haven't fixed it & that's when they show up. I'm afraid to see what's going to happen tomorrow. The cable box, and both modems have power, but are receiving no signal and Cox could care less. I have no phone if there's an emergency.

after 3 months of calling and having everything replaced in my area they find the problem in the main LINE of Cox Cable!! as I told them..

now the Internet keeps dropping out in bad weather just like the TV was and I am getting the same line of BS .. man oh man what a *** server you guys have!

Cox Cable Telephone Reps Incompetent

I am ticked off at Cox Business Services for my Certified Public Accounting Practice. Cox cable billed me $114 in erroneous charges last month, and I called to get the bill adjusted. I spoke with a lady who identified herself as Sharika on February 16, 1011 at 4:00 pm. For one thing my monthly rate jumped to about $128.18 per month. I had signed a contract with a Cox Sales Representave by the name of Steve McGann on June 7, 2010 at my Business located at 4145 Hartley Bridge Road with two phone lines and Internet serivice at a rate of $100.60, now all of a sudden when I got my lines finally reconnected in January 2011 the rate has jumped. I have some sort of cox connect service fee in the amount of $26.11. I sent a certified letter to the billing address for Cox to New Orleans, LA and got the signed green card back where it was signed for on February 22, 2011. Sharika at first told me the overcharge for my bill dated February 9, 2011 was for extra features for the amount of $114. Then she could not explain what the extra features were for, and then she told me after I debated with her for sometime that she woudld take care of the $114. Now, I waited to pay for the bill waiting for the adjustment of $114 on my bill. However, I got a new bill today for a total due of $415 because the $114 has not came off. I am getting billed for a late charge I suppose on the prior months bill that I did not pay waiting for correspondence from the company. I am trying to email Steve McGann as he was listed online at a company that has email or inmail accounts set up. However with that company after I went to the trouble of signing up, this company wanted a fee for me to email Steve! It is aggravating that Cox Communications is not set up for customers to email their person who sets up their business phone lines and Internet Services. I have been dealing with Cox Cable, since I moved to Macon, Georgia in 1981. The Company is a monopoly in the area, and their representatives are not educated who answer the phone when I call 478-784-8000. The service center at Presidential Pkwy in Macon, Georgia did not have my personal information in the computer, and when I went over there to pay my personal cable bill last week, I had to have a guy by the name of Josh take my payment because I could not access my information at the Kiosk. Now, usually, I was told, you have to pay an extra $3.95 or so for a rep to take your payment at the service center. Ridiculous! Linda J. Poole

I have used Cox 3 times for a total of around 5 years. On all 3 occasions I wound up firing Cox for various *** issues. This last time was over them having to send out six different techs to get my problem resolved them cutting my service the very next day. They then said they had no record of multiple service calls other than one tech coming out for an intermittent issue. The previous time I fired them, they stated that I had 2 modems because our modem was replaced once and the tech had misplaced it or something. After 7 months and reporting me to a credit bureau and all the harassing phone calls and an accruing bill from them they found the modem in their warehouse. Never even apologized for damaging my credit or harassing me. Their billing is consistently flawed, their service is marginal, their customer service absolutely sucks, most of their employee that work in the call center are way under educated, they will never admit to being wrong and they will never refund your money or apologize for damaging you in any way. They believe (and they are correct) that they have a monopoly in the Tulsa area (thanks to the good ole boy network we have here. For their premium internet package and metered phone service, I have been paying over $100 per month and they will ALWAYS tack on some kind of hidden fees or flat out incorrect billing and hope that you won't catch it. I audited over a year of bills from them and found over $500 in errors that took an act of congress to get credited to my account after spending approximately 20 hours on the various calls I had to make to get the issue resolved. What has happened to our country that we allow greedy corporations such as Cox Communication to charge us so much for so little. We in the US pay more for internet services than almost any country on the face of the earth and our service sucks compared to most countries. Cox Communications equals a bad experience all around and I would recommend that you avoid them if at all possible.

Exceptionally long wait time

Today, Tuesday, March 8, I have had one of the worst experiences with Cox Communications. I run a pizza restaurant, and most of our orders are taken over the phone. My second line continuously drops every call, making me miss out on customers and orders. I tried to call Cox at about 2pm and created a ticket. It is now 9:00pm and I still have not had anyone arrive to check on the issue, nor even open the ticket. I was placed on hold twice; the first call was lost due to a dead battery after about 82 minutes on hold, the second line was on hold for 45 minutes. This is an outrage; I have missed at least 20 customers due to lack of service and am seriously contemplating continuing my service with Cox.

Worst Cable Company

WORST CABLE COMPANY. I've lived in different parts of the country and in my experience this is probably the worst cable company in the nation. The Cleveland Ohio customer service staff is very rude, especially Sara. They know they are your only choice in certain areas and could care less about providing good customer service. Unlike other providers, you can only reach a customer service rep during regular business hours if you have a billing issue....and believe me you will have plenty of billing issues with this company. The first time I inquired about their service they wanted a $100 deposit because they said they couldn't verify my credit. This was the first time any cable company ever asked me for a $100 deposit. I thought this was unusual since you pay for cable and internet service in advance and if one doesn't pay, I would assume they just cut your service. They told me they would hold this deposit for a year, but credited my account after the first month.?? Another time I once signed up for a special promotion they were offering. When my first bill arrived it didn't reflect the discount and in fact showed a rate increase for the following month! What a poorly managed company! I've talked to many people who have Cox Communications as their provider and nobody seems to be happy with their service. It's a shame we don't have a choice when it comes to affordable cable and internet service in the 44129 zip code area. Buyer beware!!

I have have a business account with cox, they have a guy call himself my account manager, but doesn't even reply to my email, after oney year contract, they email me a form says I have to sign to keep my current service, try to lock me in for another year.

this after they screw up my automatic billing on my residential account month after month..

If cox is a person standing in front of me I will beat the crapp out of it with a composite baseball bat

I live in Vegas and we only have cox cable as the local cable company.... here is my two cents.

1) I have had cable in other parts of the country including over the years; Charter, Comcast and Warner.... Compared to Cox? Cox is the worst in Programming and Failure of Equipment (4 HD-DVR boxes in 2 years) and service...including their internet.

their programming for free movies is almost non existent - Though claim the have "thousands" of free movies... Yeah if you like movies ya never heard of and foreign flicks (sub-titled). As far as internet service?.... Have had to "upgrade" twice just to get any decent speed.. And I have all my own top quality routers and boxes and it still sucks. I pay $130.00 for service and don't even get any "premium" channels.... So...In my opinion Cox is the worse company of them all from my experiences with others.

Lied to us twice

Cox Communications is one of the most untrustworthy business's I have ever dealt with. LIARS LIARS LIARS Two employee's tell you one thing than an agent and wonna-be supervisor, which we all know really wasn't any kind of supervisor, tell ya another. If I would have gone through with there *** I would have been out $75 for nothing. So, I guess the moral of this story is, if you want to pay an outrageous price for really super *** service than go with Cox Communications and you will be super happy to get screwed royally.

Cox hires lazy and *** people with no regard of stand business operation and ethics. I have a business and cox home account and when I sent in my payments they post them incorrectly to the wrong accounts.please note I always paper clip the correct payment to the correct stub. This is the 2ND time this has happened! I was told I would need to get a copy of each check from my bank account and write on the check the correct account the payment was to be posted to. By the way cox has a special dept for misplaced payments so it is obvious that this is a common issue. I believe that as a consumer I have no obligation to correct their error. I also believe that I should be compensated for my time to correct their *** and lazy error. I think cox will fold down the road when we get another big corporation offering the same product. It reminds me how Qwest has been suffering due to new companies offering the same products. Qwest is no longer king! Cox's needs to be reminded of this. What ever happened to customer is always right?

Cox Communications Never sends the rebate!

I recently signed up for a landline at my residence because Cox was running a special of free for 6 months and a $100 cash back rebate. It did state on the form that the check would take about 8 weeks to receive so I patiently waited. At the end of 8 weeks I contacted Cox and spoke with a Leslie that assured me my check was on the way and had actually been mailed out the day before. One week later I STILL had not received the check and called again. Leslie did return my call but told me that due to the holidays mail was running slow and that it was in fact on its way (Even though a Christmas card from my family in MN can get here within 2 days and the checks are being mailed from Lincoln which is a 45 minute drive). It has now been 4 days since I called the 2nd time and still nothing! I am going to turn off my service as this is a HUGE JOKE!!

I never go back to businesses that do not follow through with their promises. Natalie sounds like a typical person that thinks people only do rebate offers because they need the money and not because it's smart or makes sense.

Hmmm. Strange, I was with cox for 7 years, and I found about the $100 cash back deal, so I called and inquired about it, about 3 months later, I received the $100 rebate check, the only problem is, the check is not authentic, and depositing or cashing is impossible.

They send you a check for Citizens Alliance Bank, and the check is not watermarked, so signature lines on the back, no security markings, it looked like plain paper. Anyways, all the places including my own banks, said they can not honor the check, and I would have to go to the orinigation bank... Only problem, there are 5 locations. Once on the East Coast, and the rest in the northwest.

:( What a crcock.

A check that is no good! I have cancelled my services, and reported cox to the BBB with all the proof.

I ordered new services in January 2011. I received a rebate form a month later and did as instructed; I didn't even know I was eligible for one when I signed up.

I didn't mail the rebate to cox until April. Today is June 29th and a check for $200 shows being mailed today.

I had been checking the status frequently. Hopefully I get it next week.

I too signed up for the bundle and was 'supposed' to get the $100 after checking the website, it saids processing forever and I check it today says, I am non-compliant??? I have all my copies and read over everything and checked my copies to make sure I did not make a mistake, I did not, I have everything they requested.

I called Cox today, and offered to fax, etc all my copies...oh, sorry the offer has expired. What a joke!! I did what I was supposed to and now they are not doing what they are supposed to.

That $100 was the deciding factor on which cable, internet, phone provider we used. Sick of getting ripped off by companies, but if I am thinking of being 1 day late-WATCH out!!

SMH.. The rebate is FREE money being giving to you and it is a lengthy process.

you have to have the svc for 45 days BEFORE your rebate is even processed, after that they send the form (if required) then you recieve your pymnt after which can take 10-12 weeks. Keep in mind Cox has millions of customers and this was offered nationwide and so delays are possible.

But again.. IT's FREE MONEY!!

So once again, Cox Communications changed their programming at the last minute in Omaha. Last night the Cox guide showed the Green Bay Packer game would be showing @ 12 pm on 12/5/2010. I checked the guide today, Sunday 12/5, and now the Chicago Bear game is showing instead. Had I known this was the case, I would have made other arrangement to watch the game... now I am stuck with a house full of kids, and unable to go to a sports bar to watch it. Thanks once again Cox for your "great" customer service, and lack of consistent planning. I am changing my service to direct tv.

Do not get Phone service from Cox

I made the huge mistake of switching to Cox telephone service a couple of years ago. At $9.95 a month with 6 months free it was a good deal compared to my $30 a month Verizon bill... I hardly use the land line anymore so it seemed OK... So a few months ago I notice my Cox bill has ballooned to over $200 a month for cable TV, Internet and phone... not suspecting the phone portion since it was only supposed to be $9.95 a month, I disconnected all my movie channels, took out some HDTV and got the bill down... never once did the rep suggest we look at the phone service which I mentioned numerous times was only $9.95 a month... so today I went in to pay my bill and started looking at the charges to discover they had tacked on additional services to the phone bringing it up to over $45 a month!!! I asked for it to be disconnected immediately and requested a refund for the difference between the $45 a month and the $9.95 I had been sold... the rep told me no problem and I left... later on I am at home and now my TV does not work... I get a call from a "supervisor" telling me I have to pay $114 for the phone service or they will shut off my TV and my internet service with them... I told her to go ahead... NEVER buy anything from these criminals. They constantly change prices and use bait and switch, you can't ever be sure what your bill will be.
