Hi Escondido,

It sounds like you may have switched from the DISH version of Whole-Home DVR (WH-DVR) and installed Cox individual DVRs in each room. If so, I can understand the differences between the systems may take some getting used to!

If standalone DVRs aren’t meeting your needs, Cox also offers Contour WH-DVR that allows you to watch recorded programs on any DVR connected to your Whole Home network. The Contour on-screen guide is extremely customizable with multiple search capabilities so you can quickly find the shows you want, and these features may address some of the other frustrations you mentioned. You are very fortunate, but very insensitive and rude, you are one of the few, and how dare you suggest that our problems would have anything to do with NOT paying the bill?? If someone told you your cup of morning coffee cost $1.59, then after handing it to you charges $3.29 instead, please do not tell me or anyone else you would not be bothered by it at all.

In 30 years of receiving AND PAYING for cable service, Cox was the only one who came and installed it, completely canceled it 2 weeks later, gave my phone number away to someone else, (I found that out when the school tried to call me to tell me my son was sick!) I went to a neighbors to call them, 3 reps argued with me for 2 hours that they could not have canceled my service because THEY NEVER INSTALLED IT!

I was actually accused of lying about it by one extremely rude customer service rep. Yup!, they are doing a great job!

Cox Communications - Cox doubled my rate, and will double again in 6 months.

Cox Communitcations. Bad bad bad business……. They have f'ed me over again. They say the rate will be 19.99 a mo for a year then double it after 6 months. Then it is scheduled to double again in August. I am so pissed.. call and all they do is repeat their canned speech about what a *** bargain Cox Comminucation is, ba-humbug They are lying thieving bastards and I intend to get my moneys worth on every social media known to the internet. They lie lie lie…….. and to add insult to their *** I had to buy $250 of THEIR equipment to get the internet to begin with . Beginning to think Verizons restrictions on data usage looks better after all. I have cox-ulcers.

Cox Communications in Oakton, Virginia - Unable to connect to new internet service

Three hour plus (3+) wait on customer service line! Trying to contact Customer Service since 7 AM and keep getting recording over and over again. Looks like Cox does not have enough people to handle the volume of calls. The problem is simple needing some one at Cox to turn-on a switch but cannot get any person to talk. All calls go into circular hold pattern for unending recording. The top management at Cox should try calling sometime like normal customers and see what is going on in their company. Perhaps they are looking to be bought out by Comcast?

When I was so upset that they charged me 50 over their monthly quote I called to cancel service and was on hold for hours, my phone started to die. I hung up and pressed the button to ADD or PURCHASE NEW SERVICE, I was connected in 5 minutes! I was then told if my phone died while they were canceling my service they would NOT call me back and would NOT cancel my service, I would have to wait and call again.

I got my account with Cox less than a year ago for $110 bundle. today (about 8 months later) my monthly bill is $235!!! I didnt make any changes or added anything to the service. The ridiculous jump in the monthly bill didnt happen at once. every single month it was bumped $20-$30 and every single month for 8 months I called and yelled and spoke with supervisors. all I got was apologies but no solutions. I am stuck with these *** robbers because I cant get a satellite (my condo is facing North) and there are no other cable companies to choose from. I hate Cox and highly recommend if you have other options dont go near them. The best service I ever had was from Dish and Cox should learn from Dish what is customer service and loyalty.

After 11 years as a loyal Cox customer in Las Vegas, Nevada, we finally got fed up with their games and milking us each month a higher and higher rate (even though we had a 24 month rate-lock agreement in writing!). They are now in breach of contract with us and we intend to sue for real and punitive damages.

I suggest you call your local telephone company (Centurylink Prism is now our TV and Internet provider) and see if they have this service in your area.

Dump Cox as soon as possible and boycott them for life!

They don't deserve our loyalty.

Also your States public utility commission. Cox is legally liable to give you the number, but they never have, but it is on your bill.

Cox Communications in Gainesville, Florida - Cox has routinely messed up billing, overcharged, fees for phantom equipment

So not only did Cox Cable repeatedly overcharge me for services and screw up billing while I had both TV and Internet, causing me to spend dozens of hours on the phone fixing their mistakes. Not only did they screw up cancelling my tv and keeping my internet by cancelling both. I was told when I called technical support that my internet was working and I didn't know what I was doing. They sent someone out on a Monday and I was told that they had mistakenly shut off my internet. NOW, I check my bill for what should be just for the internet, and was ASSURED by the billing person that once my tv was shut off that was all I owe, I see a random charge of $259 for equipment charges!!!! What is wrong with Cox Cable? I have never been so disrespected by a company and treated like nothing.

Gypsies, tramps and thieves. If that does not epitiomize cox then nothing does.

You make changes they jack the rate up, they "lock you in for 2 years" your rate stays the same for a few months then your agreement goes outvthe window and price jumps.

I want to get rid of the music stations they say they will jack internet rate up by $40 a month.

Cox Communications in Las Vegas, Nevada - COX changes rates *** nilly

Four years ago, I opened a Cox account for the $30/$30/$30 deal, with a DVR. The total bill was $110 a month. That was feasible for a newly divorced mom of two. What I didn't know was that the "price lock" isn't a price lock. Rates change all the time. I find out when I get a higher bill. Since I have an ebill, that means, when the automated payment doesn't go through since it is over the billing amount that I had entered when setting up auto pay. I then call and get the run around. Why is my basic + so much? I am told that the "price lock" doesn't include special pricing and that my bill would be even higher without the "price lock", even though it jumps $50 or more each time this happens. I then ask if I drop a service will my bill go down and am told , no it would go higher since I would no longer get "special incentive pricing" and that I can not qualify for the new deal of $20/$20/$20 pricing since I am a loyal, existing customer. Where is the ING of the telecommunications world? Where is set pricing, without gimmicks?

Cox Communications in Springdale, Arkansas - COX CUSTOMER SERVICE NEEDS IMPROVEMENT.

I spend more than an hour trying to resolves some issues that I had on my bill. A month ago I called them asking for an updated modem so they told that they had to charge me for it. I have been a cox customer for more than 12 years running on outdated equipment. I told them I was going to cancel my service only then the rep offered me free equipment and a discount of 20 dollars per month if I locked in my rate for 24 months. A month after I received a bill with full price for equipment and no discount. I am on the phone right waiting for somebody to answer the phone listening to this *** music that is driving my crazy. But I have to wait to see what the f@k they have to say. its been already more than 45 mins. since I talked to someone live. I will cancel my service today. STAY AWAY FROM COX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I switched to Cox and I sent in $200 Cox Promotion paperwork in early November, 2013. After many phone calls to Cox and to the Promotion card office I am still waiting on April 24, 2014.

They tell me to call back on May 7.

Am very frustrated.
