Cox Communications- Hidden Charges

Set up new service for tulsa ok. We had a notification,recorded call, for an 8-1000 set up.

We called at 930 to check on appt. 6 phone numbers and 3 international people later we were told our,appt was scheduled for 3-5 and nothing could be done. Just then a mill tell man,not cox, came by and said he was near by could he do it now. Unimpressed we are with cox and the 4 other companies involved.

We live in Derby ks and tulsa is where my husband works. We have direct tv in derby,now I know why.

Terry was great. He was the only pleasant thing about our experience with cox.

Cox's technology is from the dark ages

Cox has the WORST cable service I have ever had. My husband and I have been customers for two years and we've gone through five cable boxes from them, each with it's own set of problems. Now, we have to get a new one because the one we currently have has begun scrambling the channels. Everytime we get a new box from them, we basically have to decide if the current boxes problems are grievous enough to call them about. The reason is because we know that, once they switch the box, the new one will in no way be good and may even be worse the one before. Problems have ranged from scrambled channels to the parental control blocking our access even though it isn't set to the DVR randomly not recording even though it's scheduled to. We don't have a choice as they are the only cable company that services our neighborhood and we live in an apartment so we can't get a dish. However, if you live in an area with more than one cable provider, I HIGHLY recommend using anyone but Cox. They are the worst.

Obviously, you didn't read my complaint, buddy. The problem is that I have contacted you guys numberous times. I call everytime something is wrong with your piece of *** cable. And everytime I call, a technician gets sent out. And everytime a technician gets sent out, the cable box gets changed. And everytime the cable box gets changed, it's worse than the one before it.

Case in point, the tech came out today and changed the box. So, now we're on number 6 in two years. What's this one's problem? It won't let us set a series to record. We have to manually record each individual airing. And if we get this box changed, the next one will have a different but equally frustrating problem of it's own.

Unless you plan on personally updating the cable boxes that Cox uses to ones that actually work, there's nothing you can do to help me. And I'm stuck with you guys. I have to put up with your *** service and you have to put up with me posting rants about your *** service on the internet. Deal with it.

*** Communications...Heap Steaming Piles

First, you have to press 1 for english, heap steaming. Next you have to endure several more phone levels of, heap steaming piles including *** about setting up phone messaging even though you fortunately don't have *** phone. Then more heap steaming piles of what they describe as "Instant Service, Instant Answers..What horse steaming piles. These people don't give a *** about customer service, meaning You! They are just Money *** who spue every conceivable type of heap steaming piles. *** Comm. just wants to screw every possible person they can. I wish I could run a bill of millions and send them a bag full of my very own heap steaming pile.

Cox terrible customer service

Cox discounnected my phone/service with out any notice. I missed auto payment - my stolen card canceled. When I complained they claimed they have called /send email/ letter . None of them happened. They said these are system generated, I told them definitly your system has some problem. They are denying their fault. I had to call 3 times and stay on line for about 45 minutes to be able to talk to a supervisor which was more in denial than reps. More and more these big companies care about customers and blame their problems on customers. I almost lost a business with an international customer (from Hongkong) due to discounnected phone.

Cox Communications Will Never Make things Right!!!

Hello All, J. Wabbit with you again. Cox has posted that there care team wants to make my situation right, ever since I posted my review, and guess what, It was all BS!!! They still have not made their error right! I went back and fourth through emails with them and when calling the person that I was supposed to call with their resolution team, she never answered. I left a message and she has not even attempted to call me back, but I am still getting bills saying that I have a balance due immediately!! HOW IS THAT MAKING MY SITUATION RIGHT?!?!?!? Cox communications are scam artist, thieves, and liars!!!! COX COMMUNICATIONS, *** A BIG FAT ONE!!!!!

Lied and over charged

Cox Cable and internet service is horrible, I had their service for five years and two years ago my phone stopped working. After three weeksI finally got a "technitian" to come take a look at it. He was unable to diagnose the problem, so he installed a "phone modem" this fixed the phone, but since the Cox modem was not as good as mine and it was now working both the phobe and internet, the internet became so slow I eventually cancelled all service. Now they want to charge me for the *** modem that I never wanted to start with. I told a mananger that I was going to charge him a service fee for me returning it and he hung up on me. Don not use Cox for internet or phone at least not in northern Virginia.

Cox custumer service sucks!

I have called cox cable about 5 times to ell them that my bill pay online is not working. Everyone that I talk to doesn't know how to fix it but they keep telling me it will be fixed the next day. I even had one person tell me to erase my cookies from my computer, but didn't stick around to see if it worked....Which it didn't. This has been going on now for about 5 months and still no bill pay. I am so sick of talking to representatives that don't know how to do their job.

COX is a joke without a punch line

Always down yet they take you down the one way street from ***. After they reset everything you own they finally find out it's their problem. My solution is every time the speed gets slow set up an appointment for the COX guy. Then it's always fixed by the morning then I cancel the appointment. What a bunch of BOZO's Years ago they were so bad that the CITY OF IRVINE routed every call they had through the city. That got them on the ball maybe its time again for the city of Irvine to get actively involved.

HDTV service went out. Rep said they needed to call me back to fix. Never called.

I repeatedly experienced tiling issues on all Cox channels. Picture broke up, and sound was interrupted. I had to call them constantly in order to have them try to solve the problem. Each time they just "rebooted." Today, tiling became horrible, then screen just went black. I finally found a working number, and was put on hold several times. After 37 minutes and 2 reboots, the rep tells me that she cannot "locate" the tech reps, so they needed to call ME back in 30 minutes. Now almost an hour and I have never received call. My cable is completely gone.

I was with cox for almost 2 years and they gave me nothing but headaches! They want your banking information so the debit their bill from your account and when you do not, they charge you at least $75.00 deposit, which they will conveniently loose! They are nothing but...

Its a *** shame

This is not at all right. For a company as big as Cox to be this bull ***. I added service two of them in November of 2010. It is May of 2011, and I have not received my rebate check yet. ($200.00) But of course my Bill came on time and was paid, or I would not have any service. This is not ok. Cox is very expensive to begin with. They sucker you in with the promotions. And when the promotion is over they have you paying an arm and a leg for service. Something needs to be done about this.

My experience with Cox has been in one words nightmare. They install eqipment knowing that lines are bad and do not log in complaints. They are of no use when trying to resolve issues and that goes up the chain to supervisor. However, there is always someone who will listen and I just want to say to that young man thank you. Not only did u listen but you helped me. He is the only reason why I will say anything positive about Cox. He should be honored by Cox because of you I will not leave Cox. My advise to Cox learn how to conduct customer service, train your workers better, and be up front with your customer. Lying get you nowhere. Again, but to that young man that helped me...Thank you so much

Cox cable

Cox cable tv is severly heavy on paid commercials. Some of these pd programming aka informercials run all day long. Most start as early as 8pm and run to 11am. When I'm paying for tv, I'm DO NOT expect to be paying for commercials. I cancelled in less then 2 months and am going back to satellite. Infomercials generally dont start until 2am and stop about 6am. Only good thing I can say is since there is no contract I was able to cancel immediately. But then they raised my Internet fees! If I have to pay for TV, I'm going satellite again. Been there; better service, less informercials, cost about the same.

Cox cable greedy rip off

For 21 yrs we have had cox cable expanded cable. With it came the tv guide channel. All of a sudden this year it is excluded. you have to add a box for an additional $ 10 a month. Also nesn has the Bruins sometimes and you can watch the Red Sox on HD cox channel .. Last year when that happened you could watch the sox on cox sports channel. This year they got rid of it and surprise surprise you must have an hd box to watch. Not everyone can afford the extra expense. Cox cable is a greedy company with no consideration to long time consumers.

Cox Communications is Very Misleading!

I ordered one of those bundled services with Cox Cable a few months ago. It was supposed to come with a $100 cash back rebate. When I ordered, I was told by the sales person that the cash back rebate would come within 6 to 8 weeks. OK. I also asked during the ordering process if it came with a "PHONE" to which she replied yes. When they installed the phone service, the tech said that they don't provide equipment. When I called Cox Cable, she conveniently twisted her words and said that I had misunderstood her, that she meant that it came with "phone service"....well, duh!!! that's what I was ordering...so, any *** knows it comes with phone service.....she knew I meant did it come with a piece of equipment!!! After some bickering back and forth about her sales techniques....she agreed to waive the installation fee. A few weeks later, I called to check on the status of my rebate....to which I was told it would take closer to the 8 weeks mark and I should look for it closer to April 25. After checking the mail yesterday, I called to inquire about how much longer it would be....(it's now been 9 weeks since installation!) I was now told that the REBATE FORM would be coming soon and that after they receive it back....the REBATE CHECK would take another 6 to 8 weeks to arrive!!! Who ever heard of a company taking 6 months to give out their rebates!!!! I am currently researching alternate internet/cable services in my area and filing a complaint with the BBB.....Cox Cable is ridiculous and they treat customers like they're ***!!!!

I was sold internet for 44/month and not told it was only a 3 month promotion. Now, my monthly bill is 67.99/month. The customer service is unapologetic, hesitant to document the complaint, and reluctant to resolve the issue.

UPDATE: I did file with BBB. I received a bogus reply from Cox which basically just made excuses for their poor sales techniques!

I didn't accept the reply and within a few hours, I received a call from some lady from Cox Cable. She offered to assist me with filing for my rebate OR to credit my current bill for the entire amount due.

I of course, accepted the credit on my bill and thanked her for her help. I do appreciate the compromise that she was willing to come up with...but, it is a shame that it took a complaint to the BBB for anything to happen!

WHICH I STILL DON'T KNOW WHAT I LEFT IT LOOKED THE SAME TO ME.

REBATES ARE A RIPOFF!!! IN RHODE ISLAND WE HAVE A LAW WHICH ONLY APLIES TO MANUFACTURER REBATES. IF YOU PURCHASE SAY A BLENDER AND THEY OFFER A $10 REBATE THEY HAVE TO GIVE YOU THE $10 OFF RIGHT THEN AND THERE.

ALL STATES SHOULD HAVE THAT AND A LAW THAT ONCE YOU MAKE THAT QUALIFYING OFFER YOU SHOULD GET THAT THEN OR IN THIS CASE YOUR NEXT BILL. YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE TO JUMP THROUGH HOOPS TO GET IT.

WHO WOULD THINK IN 90 DAYS THEY SEND YOU A REBATE FORM AND YOU STILL HAVE TO WAIT WHO KNOWS HOW LONG. THEY'RE RIGHT THERE TO TAKE YOUR MONEY, BUT NOT WHEN IT COMES TO GIVING YOU ANYTHING BACK EVEN THOUGH YOU MET THERE REQUIREMENTS.
