Two men solicit cox services at our home a few months ago, we now know that these guys were "outside sales reps" who don't directly work for cox. They offered us an internet/cable package for approx. $65 a month. We asked them specifically if the price would change...

Six months into the Cox Cable Residential Price Lock Guarantee 24-Month Agreement the bill was increased by $30/month. A call to Cox Cable says the that special ended after 6 months. The PLG agreement states that if your rate included a promotional discount or the applicable period, the rate will revert back to PLG rate for the remainder of the term.

The web pages did not indicate that the special would end after 6 months. Today, the web page specifically states a rate for 12 months for a 2 year contract.

The termination fee is $240 (- $10/month) for a "Price Lock Guarantee with monthly discount" and $48 (- $2/month) for a PLG only. Cox maintains that since the PLG was accepted with a monthly discount, the $240 rate applies, not the $48 rate even though the monthly discount has expired.

Prior to signing an agreement with Cox, obtain in writing the monthly costs for every month of the agreement, the total cost, and have this signed by the representative.

Cox Communications in Las Vegas, Nevada - Door Bell ringing, property trespass dinner time

At nearly 6PM, 2 gentleman with "Cox badges" (easy to copy) rang my doorbell. Before I could reach the door, they had already trespasses past my outside gate into my atrium area. I was shocked, at first thinking some sort of scam done at Christmas time to "scope out" residences for burglary. They were supposedly trying to sell me some sort of internet upgrade. I sent them on their way of course, and called Cox. 5 people later, I finally got a number to call their "legal" department - closed of course until tomorrow. 2 things: How ***, archaic, and just plain foolish to disturb their own customers this way. And, who in the *** thought this was a good idea? To '*** off' their existing customers? If the company is publicly traded, sell the stock! Fools.

We bought our 1st HD tv in May of '11, right before my husband was to have life-saving surgery. I thought the new 60" tv would provide an outlet for him during recuperation I phoned Cox to come out and install an HD cable box. The tech installed a different box than...

If it makes you feel any better, you were still receiving HD through the av cables you were using. The only real difference is the same HD signals are carried over a single cable instead of the 5 av cables. Other than that there is no difference in picture quality.

Cox Communications Deal
My Experience with Cox customer service has been horrible. Absolutely ridiculous. I was excited to finally get cable in my apartment and when I called they said I needed a $50 deposit. Which was not a big deal, I just needed to get the money together to activate...

Wish I would've read your comments 6 months ago. Cox Communications have proven themselves to be an untrustworthy and completely dishonest business. It is infuriating!

Cox Communications in Atlanta, Georgia - Cox Cable/Internet

Prior to moving, I had several internet companies simply because of the zip code in which I lived, i.e., after initial sign-up, they kept changing every few years due to buyouts, new contracts, etc. The three major providers I had during that time were Time Warner, AT&T and Comcast. Since moving I now have Cox for TV and internet service. After 3 years I can categorically state that, in my experience, Time Warner was the best and that Cox, hands down is the absolute worst! Unfortunately, my only other option is AT&T. Were AT&T Uverse or Veriozn Fios to become available I would drop Cox like a bad habit!

Cox Communications in Las Vegas, Nevada - The firm has failed in every way one could fail

What more can I say except they just make stuff up, call for new service and phone is answered first ring, call for repair service issue and it will place you on hold for up to a hour, comericials are just words with no action and frankly the worst large corporation I have ever delt with. Moving on and buying rabbit ears, done with this company for life. When a firm touts there experience and ignors their own words they become just that,Words without meaning,I will show my displeasure by not using their service and will share with as many as I can my experience, all this is my opinion only.

Cox Communications in Livingston, New Jersey - Cox Internet

Cox is the worst internet service in Scottsdale, Arizona! It just NOT sucks technically but their customer support as well as their managers are useless. I am having 2-3 outages of internet PER WEEK in Scottsdale which is one of the best suburbs of Phoenix. Each time I call them they go through whole *** of modem restart etc then says, we will schedule technician. He comes next day and says all good no issues, it might be outage in the night. I called his supervisor to send me list of outages in a month which he did not send. I asked atleast to send email that "he cannot send this list" which he also did not do after committing to do. I am going to write silly senior management and hope they are not bunch of ....! I really miss Comcast internet which I used in California and Boston and had only 1 outage in 2.5 years.

Cox Communications in Hyattsville, Maryland - Cox erased

Update by user Nov 13, 2011

Cox contacted me last week and informed me that they did have a backup, and I was able to get my photos back. It sounds like enough people complained that the execs had to respond to us. Great work pissed consumers!

Original review posted by user Oct 13, 2011

Cox erased all my family photos that I had stored with them after they switched to a new online file storage system. My photos were on the Cox product Media Store and Share before they were erased. I received only one notice about a week before Cox erased my photos-- not nearly enough time for working families to take backup action. Their response to my complaints was the typical arrogance that I have come to expect from Cox ("too bad, nothing we can do about it") Do not trust Cox with anything of value especially photos. The arrogance of Cox is unbelievable. Surely there are other folks out there that they did this to.

I already contacted Cox and they have shown nothing but Arrogance. Though there is good news here!!

I cancelled Cox today and easily got Verizon installed. Cox loses my $174 monthly payment from a long time customer!

I think Cox made a pretty bad business decision when they decided to wipe out our photos. So now live with it Cox.

Anybody else out there that experienced this?
