Cox Communications review in New Iberia, Louisiana: Fraudulant Business Practices, charging over $600 in disconnect fees

I have had service with Cox for 2 1/2 years. Pay 107 a month for the highest speed internet, which has never been of a high speed. I called to cancel and they are trying to state I am in a 3 year contract. I hung up mad. The next day I submitted an online ticket to cancel. After 4 tickets they finally called and said we see you called yesterday, I said yes but they tried to say I was in a 3 year contract so I got mad and hung up. He said I do not see a contract on your account. I said great then had him credit some bogus charges (3 $55 reconnect fees on the same day and two $10 payment charges) then he transferred me to the retention department. That guy then tells me there is a 3 year contract. He said he would send it to me by email along with disconnect form. I get the contract, account number is different and no signature. How can you claim someone who has never read this 3 year contract nor signed it is in a 3 year contract. I would have never agreed to 3 years with early penalty of 100% of monthly commitment for extent of the contract. I am going to have to take this to court. They are now saying I owe over $600! I had a 0 balance and was a customer for 2 1/2 years and this is how they treat me. They will put this on my credit report making others think I am a bad payer, when in reality Cox has fraudulent business practices. This contract is not valid!

I have a contract dispute --- 24 month no increase of rates but increased by over 80 dollars after first year - though there is NO MENTION on any correspondence, or the original order for service that after 12 months the "bundle" would revert to non-promotional rates...

Most cable companies increase the cost after a certain period of time and the rep you spoke with should have told you when and by how much the increase would be. However, I suspect in order to get your order they neglect to mention this fact.

Tell them you want to hear the recorded conversation---they always record---to determine what was said during your conversation. Don't let them tell you they don't have it.

That's the best way to resolve the matter. The arbiter can access this.

Cox Communications review: Cox messed up

Hi, new customer of Cox ...almost a year. I need the high speed internet and century link only offers 30mg in my area so Cox is it. Last week Contour box went out, called was told the next day a tech could bring out new one, I had major dental work that day, so I decided to p/up Contour box after appt...not the best but I wanted to relax and watch GOT after dental so p/up box...home open box...NO POWER CORD!!! Call Cox was told not till next day could tech come bring cord and they would waive the 75.00 dollar fee! I had passed tech in area on my way home...After arguing with Cox I asked for supervisor...no luck so ended conversation...called back after meds kicked in...supervisor told me first thing in am...that did not happen...it was close to 10am...and he had attitude! Took him 5 minutes! When high speed from another company comes to my area I am ditching Cox after that experience! Treat good paying customers like trash.

I read everyone's complaints..I have been with Cox for over 20 years NOW... I AM EXTREMELY happy with Cox.. I have NEVER had any issues.. Their HIGH SPEED Internet is GREAT!!! NEVER AN ISSUE... MY Bill has NEVER GONE UP... I am just a Customer.. I am NOT employed by Cox.. I WANT EVERYONE TO KNOW, I AM PICKY!! COX IS THE BEST SERVICE EVER.. Those that are NOT happy probably have a tendency to complain about everything... Some people are NEVER PLEASED.. IF THESE COMPLAINING customers are NOT happy then WHY THE *** DO THEY CONTINUE their service with Cox??.. i know Why. These complaining customers know they WILL NEVER FIND ANOTHER COMPANY AS GOOD AS COX.. PLEASE EVERYONE BELIEVE WHAT I SAY, "COX IS GREAT!" They have EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE.... Cox Communications review: COX "goes out" in my area all of the time and obviously they use bandaids to fix things because if they repaired it right it wouldn't "go out" so much.

All of the time in Sun City Summerlin COX "goes out". I have lived here 7 years all with COX and I would bet on 100 or more "outages". To me that means they do not want to spend enough money to fix it correctly once and strengthen their system in our area. I run my business out of my house and pay for the highest internet speed possible but the outages are just too much distraction. I have been with COX for 14 years but have never thought of them as a good company at all. Just a typical money grabbing USA corporation the likes of which are ruining our country. Louis J. My 88 year old mother's Cox bill steadily increased over time to $205 per month...mind you for BASIC channels, nothing fancy...this is a ridiculous amount to pay...sooo I went with Direct TV...no installation fee and $50 per month...all the channels you could want!...

This is how they get you with all the "so called" one time service fees etc., bill goes up every month and I have been trying to disconnect services for over two weks . Put on hold for 40 min plus and then get disconnected, while all the time getting charged for services I don't use anymore.

I have been with cox for years and was thinking of returning , once I caughy up financially, but all the hassle of this has definetly changed my mind. Very dissatisfied customer!
