Cox Is Horrific, Do Not Believe Them And Their Ads Suck

I dumped Cox and so glad I did! Got better service and pricing from another provider and will never go with Cox again.

Reported them to the state and federal government for potential investigations, fines, and sanctions. In my opinion, Cox should not be allowed to stay...

You want to avoid Cox at all costs. This is not a company, it is a corporate menace that preys on its own customers to hustle a buck no matter how they can get it.

The best advice I can give is to file a formal complaint with the regulators in your area and attorney general, so they can do their jobs and hopefully take Cox down. Just look at all the complaints on this site and other public forums. The public wants Cox booted off the island and everywhere else. Let's do that with complaints to the FCC and others to get them out of here, there, and everywhere.

Plus, their ads are a joke and get turned off immediately. Do not believe anything they say for your own and family's good.

Do a Google search for Cox Communications and look at all the trouble they have been in and caught in the act. Makes you wonder what they've not been caught doing, yet.

Their ads have a cartoon, but so do many others in my area so it's easy to confuse which company's ads these are. Cox also mentions T-Mobile in its ads so it is easy to think these are ads for T-Mobile.

That's what happens when a company talks to itself only, and thinks they do such a wonderful job. I suspect Cox is close to being out of business with such poor judgment for the ads, how they treat customers, and their extreme unintelligence that is laughable.

At times I thought I was dealing with junior high-school children when talking to their reps. When my concerns were escalated, at best these new reps had the intelligence of high school student with bad grades, with near-zero people skills.

I turn off their ads immediately and think the company is moronic. Cox should not be in business - just look at all the complaints against it. What a disgrace!

Internet keeps dropping service . The only thing constant was that it kept happening.

After many calls and their customer non-service rep's blaming every thing but Cox. I have canceled. They had three different tech service rep's out to my home. Their own tech's even said it was their line causing the problem.

I was told I need to upgrade to a new modem several times. After lord knows how many calls, turns out they couldn't reset my modem because their line was out. Just like their tech's and my self had claimed.

Hey Cox, when a customer and your tech's tell you there is a problem in your service line going to a location, believe them. It also might help to have your non-service advisors be located in the good ole Us of a and able to speak English.

User's recommendation: Avoid Cox. Consider cell providers over wired providers. The cell providers in my area provide the equipment for free.Wired providers do not without a rental charge and are subject to physical damage and decaying wires.

Pissed off consumer

It took over 6 months at two times a week with a tech to fix my tv. Their wires were cut. It's taken two months to try and get my landline fixed. Still isn't. And it's my only phone. I am a cancer patient and my oncologist can't even reach me. Then Cox has the balls to say they are going to chsrgey me to fix my phone.

I agree. Cox is awful and should not be allowed to have a license to operate.

Contact the FCC, FTC, and attorney general plus utilities regulatory commission in your state. I filed complaints and these were served to Cox.

The more complaints, the better. Let's all dump Cox.

I pay $121 a month just for cox to consistently have power outages everyday. Now my internet hasnt been on for over 12 hours with no estimate of when it will be back on. Highly disappointed with their service. By far worst internet provider there is. I work from home and now I have miss out on money because fox doesnt have their business together. Pathetic

You are entitled to outage credits. I had this "out" with Cox and got credited for my outages.

You have every right to ask for these credits whether Cox likes it or not. Contact the FCC, FTC, utility commission and attorney general in your area and file a formal complaint against Cox. Refer them all to all the complaints against Cox online and those already served on Cox as mine were. Keep posting your stories about Cox online, but do file the formal complaints against them which is what the regulators need to investigate.

Do not be afraid of Cox. The bully is really a coward and full of incompetent people.

Can't even use the so called "high speed internet" in a monopoly owned ISP zone. Get booted off my own net I just paid for and for a week straight during home games. Nothing but kicks left and right from my internet every 20 minutes. Disgraceful, if I had any other better choices besides AT&T. I'd tell you lot to go screw yourselves for incompetent as well as blatantly scummy practices. I spit on this service as a whole.

It is not Cox. They are public servants, that's all. Make sure to file official complaints so Cox can be further investigated.

Who knows what else they are up to? Company financials also need to be checked.

I called 4 different times and the worst customer service I have EVER seen. Hateful attitudes, disrespectful! I was even hung up on! They need some new people in there that care about their job! Not to mention that I was lied to about my service being transferred and turned on. They told me my service at my new address wouldn't be turned on until I paid a past due amount, when in fact it was turned on. Right hand doesn't know what left hand is doing!

They sent me unwarranted nasty, threatening letters even though I am a model customer. I quickly filed complaints with the FCC, attorney general in my state and others.

Cox must respond to these. Everyone should complain to the government about Cox. Don't take any of their nonsense. They work for you/us.

Cox should be put out of business by the regulators, which would also send a strong message to competitors to treat their customers fairly, equally and respectfully. Check with multiple sources within Cox about credits you deserve.

If others are getting them based on outages, for example, then so should you. Don't let Cox cheat you.

I spent an hour this morning with customer service trying to get an internet service order going (currently on hold by COX, no reason provided) At the end of the session - after an hour of checking etc - they told me they could do nothing. Intrinsically worthless waste of my time.

Contact the attorney general, utilities commission in your state, and also the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and Federal Trade Commission (FTC). File a formal complaint.

If Cox won't answer you, they must answer them. Take charge and don't let this incompetent company bully you - get what you deserve and request that Cox's license be revoked. Have your situation investigated. Ask that Cox's financial records be investigated as well.

The company could be in financial trouble. Competition could be eating Cox's lunch. Ask the regulators to allow more competition into Cox's markets.

Why should the worst company have a monopoly? Kick Cox out of business.

What can I say: It takes almost a half-hour to get a human being, then once you do, you're talking to a person who barely speaks English, then the problem gets resolved (if you're lucky) for about 10 minutes, and the second you hang-up, your Wifi cuts out again...and you're back to making another phone call!!! Horrible company!! Horrible customer service!! Horrible prices!! If they only advertised their company as "Unreliable Service at an Expensive Price", at least they would be honest!!!

Horrible customer care

Im so fed up with this company that I cant stand it. From the beginning its been nothing but issues!

I set up my service in May, told them I just needed internet and didnt want to spend more than $100 a month. The rep told me that she found me a great deal she said there was a promotion that would not only get me internet but all these other great services and my bill would only be $60 a month. I said great, I was fine with it bc thats the price range I was hoping for.. well here comes June and my bill is $389.

I had a baby by C section the first week of June so I tried to use the online chat to communicate with them about my bill since I had a baby. They told me they would fix it and take off the services I didnt want and that my bill would be $111 and I wasnt too happy bc I was promised $60 but was ok with $111. Well I checked my account again and it was still $389 I paid $50 to keep it on and then tried calling, chatting and even went in person to try and figure this out. I called and they said they would remove the HBO (that I didnt authorize bc I already have my own HBO account) they told me they would remove another service and then when I checked the bill a few days later nothing changed.

Then Julys bill came, still charging me for HBO and the other service I requested them to remove and was told they would. I went in person to return the security camera they sent as part of that bulls*** promotion and the customer service rep there told me that the promo was right and I was owed $60 to my account and that my next bill should only be $68. Well I dont know where she was looking bc not only is the HBO still on the but so is the other service and the bill is $127 for July. I tried again to use the chat option and then was told that I cannot have any credits or adjustments to my account for the HBO and additional service bc I am emailed a statement each month and thats how I am notified about the services.

I about lost it! I have asked them several times to remove the services and they have failed to do so, now I am being forced to pay for the services that I didnt ask for nor did I even use!! This is the most sketchy company Ive dealt with and the only thing their employees are trained to do is lie and scheme people into things they didnt want or authorize then try to stick them with the bill and not ever help!!!

Im so over it and have never had this much trouble with an internet provider. Oh I also threatened to cancel my services on the chat once and that rep said if I stayed she would lower my bill with my current internet speed to $49.99 a month and when I brought that up on the phone once they said they arent authorized to do that so why offer it???

Absolutely the worse company we’ve EVER dealt with. Numerous “let me transfer you” only to be disconnected and having to explain everything all over again and still they won’t fix the billing problem.

Even with a printed quote from them, they are charging 20.00 a month more than the quote. They lied at every corner.

And when we did get disconnected, every new person we called back told us something different…EVERY TIME! New fiber optic company installing in our neighborhood over the past week; can’t wait to get rid of Cox.

Cox will try to cheat anyone any way they can. which shows me they are struggling financially.

Do not let them get away with it. You want to complain formally to the FCC and the attorney general in your home state. Do not let these incompetents get away with it. Cox will be forced to respond when it receives complaints from the above places.

Hope this works out for you - you sound like a good person - don't let Cox intimidate, harass, or cheat you out of your money. State as I did to the regulators that Cox should not be allowed to operate and be put out of business.

My account was compromised and I was not able to speak to any representative. I tried multiple phone numbers, and also the online chat. Nobody was able to give me any answers or help me with getting into my account. I am unable to login, and the email address has been suddenly changed to one that I do not recognize and nobody recognizes. I am very disappointed with my experience with Cox communications representatives today. Normally, I do not have this much of an issue contacting them.

That is true.they once had a great call center with dedicated people but it all changed a few years ago when they decided to outsource, they forced the good people out with early retirement or layoffs, among other bad decisions the company made. Was a good company to work for years ago but not so much now, seems like it all started when the grandson took the company over.

As expected, Cox does not care. It's all about the money, not about you or any other customer. Company could be struggling financially and laying off people to give even less service if that's even possible.

One of the tech's disconnected my service because of ingress in the line, never notified me, customer service didn't even know about it, the next tech came and told me it had been disconnected, i asked why no one told me, and she said that's not how it works, three minutes later she got in her work truck and left without saying a word.
