COX has destroyed our credit and our life

We closed our COX account and all was paid and all equipment returned. Later COX sent a bill to a BOGUS address. Then sent this to a collection agency, giving them the BOGUS address. We never knew of this bill. We were denied credit for an auto loan in spite of perfect payment records and a FICO score of over 800. I found out about this horrible mark on our credit report. Paid the bill immediately - a whole $47.25 to get the non payment part stopped. Is the bill real -- I'll never know. Now COX wants me to pay for a copy of the invoice. Possibly I could get this removed from credit report if I pay someone big bucks. Even with this , this can never be removed from our credit report because COX says this is a valid bill. Our lives are destroyed for the next ten years.

Cox reward card.

Nothing like a run around by customer service and then trying to get in the Cox. sight. I was told when I signed up and paid the bill on time for 3 months I would receive and $100.00 gift. I did what I was supposed to do and I have called about the card after talking to a couple of customer service they told me to go to cox.rewardspromo.com no luck. I did see letters or notes from other customers saying the same thing that they haven't been able to get theirs There is quite a few complaints about Cox and the gift card program.. Today, I called Cox Cable to complain about my extremely slow internet service. I spent 2 hours, 22minutes, and 17 seconds, after being transferred back and forth to different departments, explaining the situation repeatedly, and expressing my dissatisfaction about the kind of service I was getting. Except for Jordan (Supervisor), the rest of my experience with customer service was argumentative and condescending. I am not a computer savvy, I am a Healthcare worker and most computer language is foreign to me. I did not appreciate the tone of their voice, and you could sense the attitude as well. I am signed up for 150Mbps, speed test was done 3x via cox technician, the highest speed test result is 92.6Mbps. The test was then done on my desktop directly connected to the modem. They're trying to tell me maybe because I was on wireless?? The technician stated that she can tell that my system can only handle up to 100Mbps???? So why would they sign me a contract for up to 150Mbps when they're aware of my computers capacity? MISLEADING, DECEIVING, and TAKING ADVANTAGE is all I can think of. They are recommending that I need to have another band (for an additional monthly fee, at least they overrided the technician fee) to maximixe the speed. And, oh per contract they stated that "UP TO 150Mbps". Meaning you have to pay for the 150Mbps but it is not guaranteed it depends on your system. Cox was able to MONITOR AND CHECKED ON THEIR END as to what kind of system I have and its capacity yet they signed me a contract knowing that my system will not be able to handle the load???? i WILL BE CHARGED $200.00 + SUM FOR BREAKING THE CONTRACT??? I am trying to modify the service to no cable and to intensify internet because of online school activities. What??? IT WILL COST MORE because what I have right now is a bundle. The service continues it is just being modified, service is not being terminated??? I am appalled how a big corporation can take on a regular consumer like me. Don't know what to do or where to go so these things can be looked at by a regulatory board. Any idea??? COX CUSTOMERS, BE AWARE OF YOUR SERVICES/CONTRACTS, YOU SHOULD CHECK YOUR COMPUTER AND SEE IF YOURE REALLY GETTING THE SPEED YOU'RE PAYING FOR!!!!

Finally got someone in the tech department to listen to me. She was in Texas and I wish I remembered her name. Told her my plith and she said that's not right and would get someone over to my place the next day (which really was the second) with new boxes and also look at the wiring. A tech came over, early, changed out the boxes to new ones (still had wrapping on it), listened to what I had to say, went out to check wiring, showed me how to work remote, made sure I was connected to HD cable. I was verify satisfied with the tech I had both on the phone and in person. I'm now on contour but not paying the contour that lets you speak into remote. He ensured I was comfortable with my setup and very friendly. Wish all of them where like that. I would like to send a commendation to the tech I talked to in Texas. I wasn't blown off like the others did and tried everything to make me happy. That's above the calling these days.

Horrible company to deal with

Incompetent, grossly overpriced, intransigent and greedy. Constantly making billing mistakes, adding fees, misplacing payments. We move out of state and they want to charge us a disconnection fee! And we try to disconnect service and it takes seven phone calls to do it! If you have a choice other than Cox, take it. If you have any way of avoiding doing business with this company, do it. Just a nightmare, and the quality of their service is a joke. Paying for Premier Internet service and getting entry level speeds. Run as far as you can!

If I have the cable box plugged in and something happens to the tv or dvd machine, I lose both of those warranties. I did not spend money on those warranties for nothing. Cable box with no warranty is a ripoff.

I am not able to watch and understand a TV program, as it cuts and and scrambles the picture. Service was just connected and a tech came out October 5th for 2 hours. Was not able to correct the issue said it would take 7 to 10 days to send out another person. I received a call October 10th from 331.701.6831 for a tech to come out on Tuesday at 1pm. He did not show called left a message, and as I am typing this I received a call from the tech who has made an appointment for 5pm today.

FULL CHARGE WITH INTERMITTENT SERVICE

I have tried to resolve my issue(s) with COX. Not that I deserve any more than the average consumer but as a 100% Disabled Vietnam Veteran I have added stress and pain having to climb the stairs an extra one to two times a day to reset my Router. With occasional exception, the system should be on continuously. Cox receives FULL PAYMENT but DOES NOT deliver FULL SERVICE to my residence as well as other neighbor's homes. Additionally, $200+ for Home Phone/Internet/TV seems high to me. I may have to forgo one or more of the services. This is a flaw in COX provision of services. Not a blanket distaste for COX.

COX is a normal cable company

Cox said it would cost be $4000 to set up internet for me because they had to run 400 feet of cable, when my neighbor in my back yard has cable. Another instance where they are reminding people why they are a normal cable company and will loose a lot because they are more worried about the money than a customer. They want to charge me to set up their internet what kind of a company is this. Horrible customer service, never could speak to anybody who didnt have a generic answer for us. If an employee has to go out of their way for anything don't expect any responses, you will have to call every week.

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!

It is a shame that a company such as Cox does not invest more in the customer service side of their business. The representative in Arizona was condescending and did not seem to care about my aggravation regarding my service and bill. The pricing was wrong according to the 1st rep I spoke to, then the bill was said to be correct by the 2nd rep and due a little over 2 weeks from when we had the service set up, I was never made aware of how COX bills, so the bill was more than expected. I told the rep it would be appropriate to state that to their customers upon ordering service and he said no one has a problem with it...I said I am sure I am not the only one who questioned their bill. Instead of showing that he understood, he showed indifference! I can guarantee you, if I waited to pay my bill for 30days they would be calling, sending letters, or would cut my service off! If the customer service people do not have the skills to deal with the public then they should not be doing that type of job! It would have taken 20 minutes off the call if he had realized that I was the customer and its his job to help ME...or help me understand what he already knows because its his job to know or find someone who does! The lack of customer service is one reason customers do not like dealing with certain companies.
