TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!

It is a shame that a company such as Cox does not invest more in the customer service side of their business. The representative in Arizona was condescending and did not seem to care about my aggravation regarding my service and bill. The pricing was wrong according to the 1st rep I spoke to, then the bill was said to be correct by the 2nd rep and due a little over 2 weeks from when we had the service set up, I was never made aware of how COX bills, so the bill was more than expected. I told the rep it would be appropriate to state that to their customers upon ordering service and he said no one has a problem with it...I said I am sure I am not the only one who questioned their bill. Instead of showing that he understood, he showed indifference! I can guarantee you, if I waited to pay my bill for 30days they would be calling, sending letters, or would cut my service off! If the customer service people do not have the skills to deal with the public then they should not be doing that type of job! It would have taken 20 minutes off the call if he had realized that I was the customer and its his job to help ME...or help me understand what he already knows because its his job to know or find someone who does! The lack of customer service is one reason customers do not like dealing with certain companies.

We lose TV at least 5 to 6 times almost every other day the last 7 to 10 months. Inflexibility will probably cost them a customer

I am a seasonal resident, with Cox as my only choice for Cable TV service. For 14 years I have had Cox, and paid with their EZ Pay plan, with Cox drafting from my credit card. (The agree, they have never missed a payment). This past spring, rather than put the plan on "vacation" I simply cancelled, and then re-enrolled when I returned to our AZ residence. Cox claimed they needed to run a credit check to re-establish my credit (although they agreed they kept the EZ Pay information in their system). For this, they insisted on a $50 deposit, which I now am told, won't be returned for one year!!!! I worked thru 4 levels of staff today, and each agreed they would take a Cancellation before they would return the $50 deposit now.

Customer service is rude and unhelpful! My 76 yr old Mother has tried several times in the past two yrs to change her payment date from end of month to beginning of month due to SS check coming on the 4th every month! We just get a rude "no" and now once again her service has been shut off because due to billing due date she because on paper she always looks to be a month behind!! What a rip-off...now yall will want to charge her yet another reconnect fee! Not gonna happen! I'm getting with Dish tomorrow morning for her tv and internet needs! Tired of Cox giving her the shaft! You ought to be ashamed!!! Not to mention your constant rate increases! Goodbye Cox...and good riddence!! Will be joining the largely growing majority in town...Yep! Dish or Direct. So long! Very, very, very angry and dissatisfied 25 yr customer!

Lying Customer Service Reps or Not So Well Trained Lying Customer Service Reps or Both

First off, I hope an actual "Lying" Cox worker sees this review! I tried to fix a billing issue that they made (not me); basically, I was being charged for a promotion that a "Lying" Cox Service Rep said would be free. Bottom line; I have to pay for a so-called free promotion even though their notes on whatever screen they're looking at says it would be free? What the heck? No problem...just mad as heck...and time to get back at "Lying" Cox. In two months...I'll be cancelling my services with "Lying" Cox...the very same time all the good folks in my street will be cancelling their services with "Lying" Cox! It won't stop in my street...we will go to other neighborhoods and "advertise" the cancellation of "Lying" Cox!

Cox, great staff training, old tired equipment, Don't trust agreements

I have been with them for 15 years. Generally good service. But their equipment is old technology that is fair at best. I finally replaced their modem with my own modem. What a difference! Way faster speeds and less "burps" in service. In 15+ years I have never paid them late. We went on vacation and forgot to pay. Get home on the 20th and our cox services are turned off. Called immediately to complain about the sudden disconnect after 18 yrs of paying on schedule, never late, never a missed payment. They were nice, but I cancelled the account, really due to the years of BS, breakdowns, technical glitches, etc. They put me through to the retention department. I reamed them about their outrageous pricing. Behold they allegedly lowered my price with a one-year price guarantee, from $277 per month to $175. Well that was a lie. I get my next bill and they are charging me just over $200 per month. And I have less channels than I had before. They talk a good game but their equipment is old stuff- their new products are full of glitches (Contour), their service staff are nice but not 100% truthful. BTW they tend to have monopolies wherever they operate. Strongly suggest only getting internet from them and buying & using your own modem and "cut the cable" use free TV, Roku, Amazon, Netflix etc.

Incredible bad customer care

Just unfortunate that there isn't a zero stars. I've been a longstanding Cox customer for phone and internet. Mainly because for internet there just isn't any service quite as fast as theirs. I pretty much knew I was making a mistake when I cancelled my Direct TV to upgrade to a bundle with Cox. My issue in the past has been with the Frequent price increases. The issue prompting this review is customer service. I reluctantly decided to bundle with Cox. I went online and added Contpur TV and upgraded my internet. I accepted the price increase and booked a scheduled installation day on the following Monday which I took off from work to be available. I decided to call on Sunday to confirm time range of install and was informed my order had been auto cancelled. After about 20 minutes of them trying to figure out what went wrong they stated that they tried to call and confirm installation (on a order I just booked the day before). I had not one call from Cox on. My caller ID nor an email regarding confirmation or cancellation. Cox customer service was useless as always. Their offer was basically they would help me rebook for a later date. I'll just go back to Direct TV where they at least made an effort to help me out. Bottom line is as soon as their is a competitive internet service Adios Cox!!! Mark Ankrom

I had my router taken when cox guy came to change my modem. I reported it and the lady told me oh the tech get carried away and just pack up things when they leave. Then another guy calls and saids im calling anout the router that was supposly take. I was upset then cause right then you knew he did not believe me. The following day the gut just said the tech worked with them for 17 years why would he take it. That place is so missed up. He said they have alot of routers why would he take mine! Duh wake up man smell the coffee. Some customer services. Why in gods name would i call and report this if it did not happen. I was told when i needed my service tiurned on the tech would not have to come in. First of all they lied. There excuse was that the lady i talked to didnt know what there talking about. And this guy works for cox....oh ya by the way he said the complaint was dismissed and i can report it to the police.

I've had Cox for 12 months now. First signed up in Walmart they promised my bill would be $99/month. Get 1at bill it's $200. I was pissed because the Rep lied to sign me up. Besides that Cox Customer service sucks ***! The reps will hang up on you real fast! An so will them so called Managers. Cox has ridiculously prices an every month the bill goes up. Cox is a rip off. If your not a customer. Please don't waste your time Joining an getting stuck in a 2 yr contract.!! Please don't! I regret ever doing business with them. Will never happen again.

Gave my info to a virtual stranger who just moved in as a roommate. Told him annoying and relentless. , and not paying for EVERY SINGLE CHANNEL COX OFFERS but wouldn't leave me alone. I told him to put HIS portion in his name, but he didn't listen and doesn't have regard for anyone, and Cox doesn't either. COX RELEASED MY PRIVATE INFORMATION TO HIM WITHOUT NOTIFYING ME AND VINCENT FELDMAN CLOSED MY ACCOUNT DOWN. I HAVE BEEN ON THE PHONE WITH COX, WASTING MY TIME, TRYING TO DEFEND MY PRIVACY RIGHT. I WAS THEN TOLD I WAS GOING TO OWE 181.40 FOR TERMINATION OF A 2 YR CONTRACT (WHICH THEY CLAIM I AUTHORIZED, BECUASE THEY CONVENIENTLY DIDNT NOTIFY ME IN FEB 2016). THEY CLAIM THEY DID, THEY ARE LIARS, AND THEY INPUT INTO THE NOTES UNDER MY ACCT. I AM TRYING TO EXPLAIN ACCURATELY, BUT THEY HAVE PUT OUT SOOO MUCH IRRESPONSIBILY AND UNEDUCATED PERSONNEL (IF YOU CAN CALL THEM THAT). THEY ARE IN BREACH OF THEIR OWN LAWS AND IT WAS CONFIRMED THAT IT WAS ILLEGAL 3X BY (RARE)RESPONSIBLE EMPLOYEES WHO CARED AND ADMITTED COX, THEIR EMPLOYER, WAS WRONG. THEY HAD NO RIGHT TO DO THIS, AND IT IS GOING TO AFFECT MY CREDIT. THEY THEMSELVES SAID ON TAPED CONVERSATIONS THAT THEY COULDNT BELIEVE THIS HAPPENED. THEY RESEARCHED AND TOLD ME IT WAS ONE OF THEIR EMPLOYEES NAMED KALVIN (THEY REITERATED, HIS NAME WAS SPELLED WITH A k) AND THAT HE LIKELY DID IT TO MAKE COMMISSION!!!!!! VIOLATED MY RIGHT FOR A FEW BUCKSTHEN A SUPERVISOR, FRANK WAS KIND AND UNDERSTANDING, CONCERNED FOR THE BREACH, GAVE ME CREDITS TO TRY TO SHUT ME UP, I ASKED FOR CONFIRMING EMAIL FOR MULTIBLE CREDITSAND THEY SAID THEY DONT DO THAT, REALLY A COMPANY WHO SPECIALIZES IN COMMUNICATION CANT SEND AN EMAIL?/ NEXT DAY, NEW ROOMATE CLAIMS HE SPOKE WITH COX AND THEY GAVE HIM INFO AGAIN THAT HE WAS NOT TO BE GIVEN, WHICH WAS ALSO FALSE! I AM REPORTING IT TO THE FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION AND PURSUING THIS MATTER IN A BIG WAY. The worst service I have ever had. I have lived in many locations across the USA, COX provides the worst Internet/Cable . Do not recommend. Within the first few days of installation both the internet and the cable went down. Technicians returned and the service signals were boosted, then a few days later the Internet went down. They came back to install the security, and in doing so disconnected the cable TV which remained down for weeks because the Cox security changed the splitters, which changed the signal strength. It then the cable came back and removed "filter" to boost the signal. Then the contour remote went out and a sensor kept misfiring. When I called in the issue the Cox representative was abrupt and stated she was charging for the technicians call. I spoke to her manager and he said there would be no charge since the sensors were just placed and were misfiring. When the security technician came out he determined it was indeed a defective sensory, deprogrammed, replaced, and reprogrammed for a new sensor. He also stated no charge for the visit to replace the defective My surprise when I saw a 75 dollar service call charge on my bill. I have spent at least 39 hours either on the phone, or waiting for the 2 hour window for technician to arrive. For the last 7 weeks my Contour remote control hasn't worked. I get just one channel with my Sony remote control. The technician was suppose to come between 3-5 to exchange and program a new remote control/ At 5:15PM I received a call that he would be here at 6PM, at 6:20 PM I received a call that he would be her some time tonight, but no time given " because they give them too much work". It is 7:35PM, still no Cox technician. This company really sucks.

I am seriously getting stacked at cox billing they are over billing me up to 450 month and now is issues of 645 and the payments of 100 or 80 every week is not enough there my most expensive bill and seriously thinking to cancel and get a pre paid lawyer to send them a letter how they are lying and sneaking charges and was told my bill will be 180 by sept and that's BS as long they keep getting me behind i will be stuck and only way to be unstuck is to cancel and pay off whatever is owes.
