Countur Review

In three months we have not had uninterrupted service for more than one day. Contour flat out sucks. It won't be long till century Link gets a call. This service is flat out unexceptable.

The worst cablew provider on the planet!

The worst cable provider on the planet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Their equipment is unreliable. Their techs, for the most part, are incompetent. Their telephone wait-times are intolerable. I have 8 cable boxes and internet service from them, and downtime is totally unacceptable. They seem incapable of making things work properly. This week alone, I have had 5 problems, including the failure of a splitter to function properly, and a brand new high speed 16-channelmodem that they sold to me earlier in the week, continues to fail. It is amazing to me that a company with such poor quality at every level, continues to exist. It must be that the only way they stay in business is because they are a monopoly!

I don't think people need to go around bragging about smoking pot I have grandkids that I love and adore and letting them think pot is ok to smoke it's a drug call it what you want.. cigarettes are also a drug but it's legal and very addicted..... good day

I can't get a straight answer from them! How? Can you chRge this? They tell me well we were giving you a $40 credit ? Come on. Din e when do we have to pay for basic prime tv channels? This is a political financial issue. Tv already takes in ad dollars...then I look online or talk to others , we re all getting different rates for the same package!!!!! How is that? I cancelled. I am done. I am in my 50s and until my mid 20s in Chicago you could turn your tv on and for free watch basic tv!!! You can no longer do that?! The prime t. Takes in revenue thru advertising, why am I paying to watch *** inane shows lunch duck dynasty and switch wives? But how many poor people probably forgo a water bill to afford cable. It's an atrocity!

Cox has a monopoly in parts of Tucson... That wouldn't be a bad thing if they provided good service, correction, if they provided CONTINUOS service... Every other day or so, either HBO, or any other so-called premium channels are not in service... They always leave a chickenshit message saying "Sorry for the inconvenience, we are experiencing technical difficulties" YEAH RIGHT!!! THAT'S PURE *** !!! I miss COMCAST!!! The BEST CABLE SERVICE IV EVER HADVIS COMCAST !!!! If all cox customers decided to say *** IT, and NOT pay their bill, I bet cox would figure out a way to fix their so-called technical difficulties !!!! COX SUCKS !!!! DROP COX !!!

Details
I've had cox for over 24 years and have generally been happy. However, since getting the contour 2 it has all gone down hill. Box swaps, inability of 'tier 1' service folks to do anything more than reset and the contour 2 experts have 30-60+ minute hold times. Then someone unknown cancels a service appointment without notifying me. My frustration level is through the roof. It's time to find an alternative.

Rarely had problems with cox communications until change over to HD with their required converter box. Since then there have been too many problems with viewing t.v. programs. Just as bad or worse as other satellite companies. Just about ready to become a hermit. Truly disappointing and aggravating.

I signed up with Cox over a year ago by phone. I was told I would receive a $150.00 pre paid Visa card by last December. I have been to the office three times to inquire about this and was told they are looking into it. This weekend I called again only to be told that I was to submit a form...NO ONE MENTIONED THAT! When I called 1 877-286-4804 (their redemption program) I was once again told they could not help me because I had not submitted the form and even then time constraints would probably prohibit processing the claim. Both on phone & in store Very Very arrogant & condescending when trying to understand charges on my bill Appartently they bill you for discontinuing service they call it pro rating $40 for 8 days !!!!!! I went around & round with them both in store than on phone as to why I had 3 different amounts between paper bill , phone call & online bill! of course thay came up with well fee for this & fee for that & the pro rated thing like I said charging me $40 for 8 days of internet service when my monthely fee is $57 total .

Noise from new boxes

Since getting the two cable boxes replaced I have heard noise from them. Like amps. It gets loud and goes away. I have been told to bring them in to their solution store to exchange them. I am on two canes. How do you think I can get them down stairs? One rep said there would be a charge if someone came out. Even if you're handicapped? I asked for the supervisor and was on hold for about a minute and disconnected. I have to let my temper to go down before calling again. Also, sometimes, doesn't matter if it's in living room or bedroom, I'll be watching the news on HD channel, switch to a non HD channel, no picture. So I have to go to lower channel, get the pic, wait a minute and then go to channel I want. I get a different answer to my problems every time. Tired of it. Unfortunately I found out that they have a monopoly for my condo area. I could get a dish, but not allowed for others to see. So I'm stuck till I move.

I helped my son who was working at the time to get Cox cable, internet, and they offered a free phone--for $99.99/per month When the first Bill arrived the actual bill was $146 and change, Upon calling in to the service line I was told that the promotion we signed up for was not right. After pleading with the service man over the phone he stated that the bill would be reduced to $123.00/per month but we would have to return the phone since it really cost $31.00 per month. As a result we will not honor the bill and be seeking computer service and cable to another provider.
