I decided that cancel my cox cable after a $58.00 jump in my monthly rate. When I inquired about the jump I was told it was because of my speciality services. The Customer Care person I spoke to said at best he can give me a new rate of $229. Per month which is still $29.00 more than I payed the month before. That's still too high. When I cancelled my service I was informed there was a $100.00 early cancellation fee. The explanation I was given was it was for the free one year service I was given and when I got the service it locked me into a two year agreement. In essence I was canceling early according to you customer rep. I told the individual I did not remember being advised about the two year lock in. He recommended I ask cox to pull the tape of the conversation. I made the request in early March and was told it would take about a week to get back to me. Three weeks later still no call. I called customer service a second time and I was assured a manager would get back to me in 48 hours. That was three weeks ago. Amazing that I can't get this issue resolved. COX is very misleading in its services and pricing. I have been a loyal customer for more than 13 years. The only service I have withmcox now is for Internet. I will shut that down as well if I don't get resolution to this matter.

Cox Communications review: False adverstising

Details
Ordered service online at a special price of $89.99. Advertised as an total estimate of $103.89 including tax. However, first bill is for $124.49. Bill includes $20.40 in a slew of various taxes. Yet, when ordered online it did not say at any time that taxes w/b $20+ per month. It's outrageous and false advertising. Had I known I would pay $20.00 per month in taxes I would not have ordered this service. I called and spoke with 3 different people. Each said they can't do anything about this, and that them using the term 'estimate' allows them to charge whatever. Basically, they offer you a discount, then, turn around and put the difference in to taxes, which they don't show you when ordering. They are the poorest customer service I've ever come across in business.

Many people take Internet/ Cable companies to Small Claims Court and win their cases. If you think you can prove in Court that you've been deceived and cheated, bring a lawsuit . I won easily against TWC years ago and got 4 years of Triple Play services for $99 per month because of their mistake .

Cox Communications review: Billing dispute with closed account as successor trustee

I spent one hour on the phone and never reached a resolution. I first spoke with billing and they could not understand the issue was they charged for services AFTER the account was closed. They rationalized that since the bill was paid they saw no issue but it is handled under auto payment. While waiting for resolution, the call was dropped. When I called back in they sent we to the wrong department and I waited 20 minutes to get to someone and they wanted to put me back into the cue for the billing department, I asked for a supervisor. Each time I had to fully explain my issue. The supervisor said only billing could handle so back to billing I went. I asked to speak to a supervisor but was told they are all in a meeting (how convenient). She said she could help. I explain once more and she said the bill is paid and could not understand, once more I said the dead person was billed AFTER SHE DIED AND THE ACCOUNT WAS CLOSED for services she did not use. This person said she could not discuss with me because I am not on the account. I told her I was as the person in the store put me on the account. She asked me which store I told her and she told me I should have gone to another store. WHAT???? I am the successor trustee, have the documentation and gave that to the person in the store who put it on the account. I am so angry at the treatment of someone trying to help a dear friend get a little money back and all I got was wrong department, it was paid - why care, we can't talk to you, etc., etc. I AM FURIOUS AND I CANNOT STAND YOUR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After the many years I have had your service, I am shocked at how much you have increased the invoice! I did call however, no one was able to help me with reducing this with any type of promotion. Since you do not offer any special program to seniors and people with disabilities, I just want you to know that I am searching now for another alternative and will be changing my tv service as soon as possible. Perhaps you are not aware that there are companies out there with offers that are almost one half of your charges. Because I had been with you for so long, I was actually thinking of adding my phone and internet to my plan with you and then I received your current invoice - of course, this is now out of the question. here we go again with another price increase. i have advanced basic, no,pay channels, and lowest speed internet and it will be going up,over $145 a month. out of all the channels i get i watch maybe 20% max. luckily i do not use netflix or other streaming video service as cox now wants to charge extra for using bandwith over what they want to give you. so price increase and product decrease. aahhh corporate america at it's best. i cannot lower internet speed and if i get rid of what i don't watch it will eliminate what i do watch. what a ripoff. we need competion, not one company has one area. DISGUSTED !!!!!!!!

Cox Communications review in Metairie, Louisiana: Service vehicle #33744 blocking sidewalk on Transcontinental. 3/18/2017

Hello Today on Transcontinental in Metairie service van #33744 was blocking the sidewalk. My friend is in a wheelchair and I had to bring her out onto Transcontinental to get to the corner. The service man was at a corner house and could have parked on the side street. We walk this area a few times a week and it is not safe on busy Transcontinental. First you have to go down a driveway curb backwards into Transcontinental and go about twenty yards before getting to the corner. Hoping some contract lawyer starts a class action lawsuit against Cox Communications for their so-called 2 year contract with a quoted price before the contract starts and then you must call "before" the first year is up to renegotiate a new price. Huh?

I thought I would be paying the stated price for 2 years. No, the retention department says the 2 year contract is to protect me from any increases within those 2 years. Okay, so why would I have to call the retention department before the second year begins to renegotiate a new price if the 2 year contract is supposed to protect me from price increases??? Their answer is that the price quoted before the 2 year contract begins is a "promotional price." It doesn't matter if this is a promotional price or any other kind of price.

A 2 year contract at X dollars is exactly that. I believe the goal for Cox is to get you contractually obligated to them and then play smoke and mirrors after the fact.

Ultimately, after finding it necessary to ask to speak to a supervisor, then her arguing with me, she found a way to put my bill back down to what I'd been paying, rather than paying the $55 increase they tried to stick me with. I thought it was very unprofessional for the supervisor to argue with me about the fact that the rep had asked me the same questions I'd already responded to, instead of getting on with the business of helping me!

Cox customer service has definitely gone downhill. I had a Loyalty rep that just wanted to ask me the same questions repeatedly instead of using my answers to help me!

Then after I got a supervisor on the phone she just wanted to argue with me! I'd really like to have someone that actually knows how to be professional answer the phone!
