Would like to spell their name differently

Wonder how a large company can be so inept. My elderly moved apartments today at the same address. Basically same address, different apartment number. I called Cox to get her internet switched. After locating her account they asked what apartment she moved to. Gave them the number and was told they have an active account in that apartment and cannot connect until it was cancelled. Told them that was impossible because it was just added onto the complex. They in return called the party that was listed at the apartment and determined that they had the wrong apartment number for the other account. Then told me they still could not connect until management from the apartment complex called them to verify the other party was really not in my mom's apartment. Really, you just talked to them. Called the complex management and was told they would call and have the account transferred for me. No, Cox wouldn't transfer for them. They called me back and told me they verified the other party was in a different apartment but I would have to set up the transfer. I called again the residential line again and was told this time that the business account handles her address and offered their number. Brenda got rude with me when I asked if she could just transfer me and she did. Immediately after giving them the account info I was told they can't do it I would have to go through residential. Really they just told me they can't do it. He then transferred me to someone else who then told me there is another active account in that apartment. Explained everything to him and he said he would make the change and set it up. He then said all I had to do was connect her router to the connection and I would be good. Not so, still no internet. So I called back again and got a person that couldn't even find her account even when I gave her the account number. She said she was going to transfer me to I believe "connections" but instead I got "connect to compete" what ever that is. I called back again explained everything and was told she would enter the info and then transfer to connections, instead she transferred me to disconnect or hung up. Finally I called back and explained everything again and was told he would enter everything and walk over to connections to make sure they addressed my issue. Connections confirmed the new apartment number, had me reset the router and boom had internet service. Sometimes I hate when someone in a foreign country answers a customer service call but got to admit I believe they could have done a better job.

Change in service - Cox gets greedy

Cox cable in the Hampton, VA area changed their line up at least for the Cox Starter programming. Gone are Animal Planet, Inspiration Channel and a couple more stations that I used to watch. No replacements unless you like infomercials or shopping networks. Of course there was no change in monthly premiums, just another ploy to have customers to spend more and move up a tier. As for me I am cancelling COX after 20 years of service. Fortunately there are other venues with more to offer at a lower price such as Sling TV and Netflix. Thanks Cox for opening my eyes to the other opportunities available.

Your "enemy in the digital age"

With their contour dvr, it often takes me 4 hours to watch a ball game with picture freezes, service failures, non-functioning fast forward, failure messages reboots etc. This does not include time spent on the phone with tech support reps who are never able to provide help, make up their lies just to get you off the phone. They provide customer support consistent with a company that has a cable monopoly and they know it. When I last completed one of their surveys, I received a call back from a pleasant representative who agreed with me about virtually every problem. Faulty equipment "yes, we have to do better" Misinformation "We have to improve the training in communications" Lack of adequate bandwidth to provide comparable service to DirectTV on sports package "yes, we're trying to upgrade that". No solutions in sight. They obviously subscribe to the P.T. Barnum philosophy of management. " You can fool some of the people all of the time, all of the people some of the time but you can't fool all of the poeple all of the time." FYI, I'm writing this message while rebooting again.

Worst cable company in the United States

I hate this company, I have had *** cable for 2 years with auto pay, and recently checked my bank statement and each month my bill is different even though I havent changed my service. I called and ask why, they said they dont know why, gave me credit only to find this month it is differnt again. I suggest anyone that has *** cable to keep an eye on your bill to make sure they are not adding more dollars for nothing. This is a very greedy company that tries to nickel and dime their customers hoping the customer doesnt notice it. Come on *** cable treat the people that keeps you in business better.

Thanks for Not Helping Me

Cox bumped my bill price without notice. When I called to change the bill back to the "promotional" price, they "couldn't change it" or offer any discounts, nor was there any way for her to change the bill as it stood. Not okay, Cox.

Increasing prices

I am so tired and frustrated about increasing prices. I am on a fixed monthly income and the prices for services keeps going up. I have several neighbors that have cancelled their service because of this. I have had cable less than a year and have received two increases. I also have internet services through them as well. It is so irritating that prices consistently go up and my income stays the same. We are all fed up with it. You should offer an exception for seniors and disabled. Because we want the service but can't afford it especially if it keeps going up. Why don't you take us under consideration.

Discount rate changed causing price to increase even with locked rate

I have cox cable in san diego I have been a loyal customer for 8 years+ now and was talked into getting a locked rate last year to lock my monthly cost per month. The rate itself was locked but what they don't tell you is that the discounts that they add to make the rate look better isn't locked so after 1 year the price has gone up. I called the service desk and talked with the loyalty department and they said there is nothing they can do and I should be better informed before signing a term agreement. This is bull that they make the price look better with discounts that aren't locked and this is not explained when they sell you the locked agreement. This should be a breach of contract and there end and users should be able to do something about this. If we were to breach the contract they would charge us huge fines, well where are there fines for screwing over there loyal customers. The worst part is that they hold a monopoly in our region for internet. No other company is available for internet through the cable lines and this is a true monopoly. Once my term is up I will be canceling the service worst company out there and all there reviews are in agreement.

Constant dropped connection. Overpriced.

Every month a problem. I work from home no connection and paying top price. They want their money but what about my money lost due to their bad service.

Their techs suck and all they do is upswell you. Now I'm stressed losing money

Been down for two weeks

Live in Oklahoma (aka tornado ally) had a non-tornado thunder storm come through two weeks ago. Service is out for the area - fine. I can understand that. A few days later still service outage in the area - fine. I can wait one more day. One Week down and they still have a service outage for the area - they send out a tech. I'm back up Thursday evening. Friday Morning we are back down again - call Cox and there is another service outage. Next day I call back yet again - they tell me to call back in two hours. This time I request a tech be dispatch. Can't show up till Monday (Memorial Day) - I ask if it being a holiday will affect the tech and was told no and to make sure someone is there. re-arrange my holiday plans - get email saying service tech dispatch has been canceled (at the end of the service window aka 5pm) Call back and was told that they don't work on holiday and it will be even more days for a tech to be available to come out - demand manager at this point in time. Manager in lackluster at de-escalating me - it isn't a service outage and never was it was my house ONLY that is affected and i'll just have to wait. Tech comes out (2nd time now in two weeks) - finds problem at the pole. In the end I was down for all three services for half the month. Had to go over on cell phone data plan (no home wifi), miss-out on holiday plans, have manager talk down to me, ect... Now the battle for bill credit is infuriating and really needs it's own post.

Cable company or Crime Syndicate?

While concluding that the service that we were getting from Cox Cable was nothing less than a parade of Commercials and entertainment was not possible... despite their uncontrolled sales and ever more pointless "upgrades"... We tried to cancel... Apparently they forgot to add that option!!! While every other decision in the so called free world comes with a choice of 'NO" Cox Communications has a policy exactly like the Mafia... Nobody gets out alive! Despite Calling their computerized voice rejection system! which can sell you anything on the planet. with the touch of a button. Sure I figured an Hour and a half on the phone... several times get cut off for no reason the usual... I've spent hours... but at least 20 times trying to even talk with a rep who can actually cancel tv and keep internet!! all they have is sales reps no one has the awesome power of removing their greedy hands from our pockets! if you push the numbers indicated to "modify ' service the computer rejects your call ( cancellation is Not one of the options) speak to a rep (I.e living breathing...) usually cutoff before speaking to a nice person that neither has the power nor a valid clue how to cancel... even a Tick will quit sucking blood when it had it's fill . Cox will cancel the signal anytime but keep billing you! It's a new world now !! ! where it's cool to be a rotten son of a *** !!! Ethics and Protection from the government they only enjoy... American Values are now upside down! ' Corporation Were people too. you're a valued customer! I believe that but not that " My call is Important to them " Who /... the Computer? They need to Play by the Same rules as everyone else! Don't they? They act Mysterious. But being *** is the smartest thing they can do to maximize profits. But they have no soul, conscience and therefore. Are uncapable of doing the morale (honest) thing. Someday I am going to get through and I am going to chew the nice innocent lady that answers a new *** for working as part of a criminal enterprize if she helps i will tell her to have a nice day! I'm though being nice!!!

Reward Card Woes - Continued!

I had posted a review in January regarding my issues with Cox. I told them to take out all the late fees they have been charging me but they refused. My account started having unpaid balance because back in September, they said they credited my account $100 and I needed to pay only the remaining balance; but they never credited $100! I have been paying my monthly dues (except the late payment because I was never ever late on my payment) on time but they always charged me with late fee every month! So they are expecting me to pay late fees that actually started because of their disorganized, inefficient and arrogant nature of accounting and customer service representatives. To say the least, these are bunch of jokers!
