Cox Cable------NoThanks!!!

After having Cox Cable service for 9 months, approximately, here is The list of reasons why we're not happy with their service: they have spent 9months giving us the run-around about the gift card reward they promised but have refused to keep their promise. Also, the wifi router needs rebooting too frequently; and the cable box needs rebooting. Try to call their customer service dept and they cut off your call....so you have to call again and try to get through again. Nothing but frustration and quirky equipment, and broken promises and the run-around. Also, just calling their customer service call center is an ordeal....go through 5 or more different menus, then they put you in a wait/hold ***, then they cut off the phone call before you ever speak to a service rep.

2 days wait for technical support (Internet, cable & phone all down)!!!

Fri - power outage 7am - 2am (21hrs). Sat - power came back. Cox service down (no internet, TV nor phone)! Sat 8am - start calling Cox (called 7X before getting through and wait 29 min to speak to someone). Was told the earliest appt is Mon! Two days wait for service - unbelievable! Asked to escalate this problem and for a Manager to call me back to explain why I have to wait for 2 days to get Cox service back (no one call back). Explained I work from home and can't have down time. Sat 9 am - someone from escalation called to say 1pm appt available. I managed "yes, i appreciate it" before phone dropped (remember, no Cox, lousy cell service). Tried calling back desperately to get confirmation they can come. Managed to speak to someone twice and explained situation after another 7-8 attempts. Phone dropped on both occasion and no one bother to call back even though they have full info and description of problem. Managed to speak to someone on last attempt (after waiting 45 minutes). To be told this - the 1pm spot is not log and i have to wait till Mon!! Mon 9:15am - received a call from Cox that they will be here in 10 min. One hour later, call back Technician after "no show". Only to be told "the office reroute them"! What?? I waited and was told office reroute them with no words from them? And after waiting two days? Call dropped and call back twice. It just goes to voicemail conveniently.. Mon 10:15am - call Cox office to complain "reroute" issue. Call drop at the end of it and no one call back! Notice wifi connected shortly.. Mon 11:45pm - Cox Tech show up (~2.5hrs after agreed time). Thanks but no thanks. He confirmed he reset it after i called him. ~30 houses here affected with no Cox service after power outage. Problem resolved with easy reset, yet we wait 2 agonizing days and many frustrating calls. Should Cox have automatically reset with power outage?Should Cox have the courtesy to call me back on delays or complains?Should I pay for the days I am not getting service?

This company is the worst....someone stole my identity went to this company and opened up and account. They just want to have as many accounts as possible they do not verify no ones information. And when I tried to fix this up they gave me the hardest time...please do not make bussiness with this company ever..

Serious customer service, tech support, and billing issues

moved in 5/7/16 was given wrong cable boxes according to bundle I picked was told DVR is included, WRONG tried to charge me, disputed, credited my account and had to wait 2 hours for tech to get rid of. Then charged an additional $31 on July bill, talked to joanna, supervisor, billing, no idea why, adusted,after rep Rachel told me due to late payment, WRONG. Now trying to received my $100 prepaid Visa, impossible on web site and ur wonderful 800#, useless. Lots of bait and switch ***, reps who dont know what they are talking about, techs late arrivals, not having internet working properly whole month of May, hours on phone, hours waiting for techs, disgusted

Support? what support?

We inquired to CoxHSI.Services@cox.com in March, with no reply after our followup request for information 3/28/2016. Repeated that last message today 7/15 and got - Delivery has failed to these recipients or groups: Cox eCare HSI (coxhsi.services@cox.com) The recipient's mailbox is full and can't accept messages now. Please try resending this message later, or contact the recipient directly. The following organization rejected your message: CATL0EXCH06.CORP.COX.com. Also - 2 days ago Cox scrambled the neighborhood WAN IPs, now internet reconnects every 30 minutes - of course stopping everything. This for almost $900 per year (constantly escalated) for supposed (but spotty) "high speed Internet". Not a happy camper!

Cox Business Contract Not Worth The Paper Its Written On

They say one thing and do another. I had them come out and install phone systems and internet for my business, was a total disaster, phones were not right for a week. Then the bill. They told me for 3 months don't worry will get it corrected - well it never did. The charge this month is double and the cost per month is substantially higher than what agreed to and we have a written contract! Totally frustrated, spoke with so many different people at Cox and they all say it's because of this account # and that one was transferred over and you have now 8 lines and I said what 8? It's the toll-free # and its the Fax # you wanted to keep, and well we had to close this account and start this one and its an endless mess. Doesn't make sense, had to file a complaint today with the FTC and FCC.

Charged us a deposit for moving across state lines, increased our bill, asked for self-install and sent someone anyway, gave us a more expensive modem without asking what we wanted, didn't itemize bill, couldn't pay online, couldn't pay on automated phone service, wanted to charge $10 to pay with a rep anyway, their website usually doesn't work (to view downgrades, to pay bill, to view itemized bill, to login, etc), service went out 3 times in one month, service slowed down almost daily, and probably another dozen things I'm forgetting. In short, they spend their money lobbying the state and Congress to not have to improve infrastructure or service. They know they have a shelf life and they're looking to nickel and dime you until then. Go with any other service, including satellite and DSL until fiber or cell companies start offering internet for cheaper. Cox "speeds" are not worth the pain that Cox service provides.

Bait and Switch

I have been a Cox internet and phone user and recently called them to ask how much it would cost to add TV services. The sales associate told me the I could get Contour Premiere and two subscription channels for only $92 a month. Today a tech installed the cable boxes for my three TVs. After he left I tried to access HBO and Showtime, the two channels that I had requested and found that they were not active. I chatted with customer service online and was told that the best they could do was give me the two channels for an additional $15 per month. Of course, I had asked the sales associate to send me an email detailing the deal but she said that they didn't have the "capability to send emails" so I have no proof of the deal that I was offered. It is B.S. like this that made me leave Cox's TV service several years ago. I should have known that they probably tell their sales associates to promise anything as long as they give the customer no proof of what was offered. Don't get taken like I was. DON'T TRUST COX COMMUNICATIONS!!

Cox basic internet service

The Ad for basic internet service is $19.00 a month. But they will force you to have a land line telephone service which mostly does not work and useless for another $19.00 a month. With some junk fees added up you will end up paying about $60.00 a month for what the ad says is $19.00. After so many headache and frustration and long hours argument on the phone, every month, with predator salesmen I decided to terminate Cox cable. No matter what they said to resolve your bill, the next month bill will show the same problem. Not to mention salesmen kept pushing you to have TV service which I don't need and have time to watch 120 channels. May be just need 4 basic News channels to be obliged but not 120. Lost my deposit money on termination. But I feel so relaxed and content after got rid of Cox. Cox is cancerous in another word.
