Cox Communications Customer Care Review

I had cox cable for a year. I called two weeks in advance to have them turn off my service.I am 64 yr old i have naropithy in my hands and feet.cox said they record all there phone calls well if thats the case than they can listen to the phone vall where they said my cable was going to be shut off and they kept it on and they said would come pick up the box also. Cox internet service is THE MOST AGGRAVATING internet provider I have ever dealt with . For home use their reliability SUCKS so i would not recommend for a business. The modem , from them, has to be reset at least 2 days a week and i have had to totally reconfigure my network twice. I was a Computer tech for 26 separate insurance agencies a few years ago and ALL OF THEM TOGETHER didnt lose their connections this frequently. I am actually maintaining this network for a friend and because of the unreliable service I WILL NOT BE USING THEM IN either of my homes or business and i would not recommend it as my first choice...before Cox bought our cable company it was Multimedia and they were ome of the top companies in the nation for customer service now i would say running neck and neck for last. RUDE , UNHELPFUL, act like they are doing YOU a favor . Sad really just sad

I wish there was some competition in my area 34479. I so resent paying Cox every month. Now we have to rent mini boxes. They know they have you. 157.00 plus 3 mini boxes at another 2.99 per box each month!

No kidding. Shyster manager of West Side store told me I HAD to have a tech appointment when I wanted to transfer services to a new address...totally unnecessary, Cox just wanted to rack up charges; the connection was a simple self-registration one requiring NO INSTALLATION of any kind.

Even the tech who came out told me I could have handled it by myself. They also dinged me by switching me from a low-cost plan to a much more expensive one without informing me by word OR letter of the huge price difference......PLUS the $50 tech charge.... so when I got my outrageous bill today I called Cox, hung on "hold" forever, finally reached a halfway decent customer rep in accounts who thinks I may be off the hook since I am cancelling my service as of tomorrow within the "grace period" accorded new accounts. I dang well better.

These greedy and unscrupulous business practices put this company in the same class as used car salesmen and *** lawyers.

Yuck!!! Double yuck!!!!!

Cox has been horrible lately. The internet never works and is very slow. No such thing as high speed internet! Every night there's a problem with the cable no signal or its trying to find a signal. Cable goes out out of no where. This is very frustrating after all the money I spend for it. I'm so disappointed and disgusted they are absolutely no help when you call them to fix the problem! I wish we had more options for cable. I may switch to fios. Just had it

Dominion power was doing work on the power lines and cut my cable line. I contacted cox to repair my line. They told me no one has to been home because it's an outside line repair and said if any issues the tech would call my cell phone. When I got home the cable line was still on the ground and not hook up and I never received a phone call. I called cox and they told me that the tech didn't fix it because no one was home. When they TOLD me earlier that no one had to be home and if that was the case why didn't the tech call my phone. Just plain out lazy and nonprofessional. I will be looking else where for my services.

I canceled my cox service today I am so happy that I finally canceled it...but mad at myself for waiting so long and putting up with such bad service. ..for so long . not only was it the worst service but due to lack of secured network I also had my credit card stolen. .. copied and used online.

Worst customer service ever. I returned a receiver 2 years ago and now cox informs me that the never received it. Charging me $380.00 for equipment that was returned and is obsolete. After two months of talking to three supervisors, no one can say anything but, "too bad for you". This is the second time Cox has unjustly taken over 300.00 from me. They are the only show in town in PV and can treat it's customers like ***. I have to pay this bill so my credit does not get dinged. Talk about leaving a sour taste in my mouth. Hate this company. Not a single person you talk to apparently has any authority to help it's customers. They don't give a *** about keeping them either.

I too have a similar problem. They destroyed my T.V.

had a tech come out. He didn't fix it. I called and they wanted to send someone else. I said not worth it and when I called a week or so later to cancel my cable (I'm being terrorized and it didn't occur to me to cancel immediately as I thought some miracle would happen and I'd get T.V again) they told me theyd charge me for the time I didn't have cable because?

I didn't call a second time.

Obviously I did but they insist they have no record of that call and the tech has no notes. Just cruel.

Talking to a brick wall

I have had nothing but frustrating service from this company. Years ago they were one of the best. So disappointing now. From service that is so slow, you think I was back in 1999. And their blaming it on my computer, cracks me up. I had the same before. And it use to be just fine. Why now, does it suck? Well, could be 2 things...the wiring coming into my "new" apt. is old & stiff. Or the single band modem the sold me is a lemon. Or both. Either way. I have had no relief from these "people". $60.00 a month for just internet. It is not worth it. I am going to shut it off the end of this month.

A new Cox customer of just one week, on Sat June 11, 2016, upon returning home at 11:00am I found my cable TV and Wi-Fi not working. After making repeated calls to Cox, being told a tech was dispatched (a lie), I was finally told a tech would come out Monday morning. Talking to a supervisor it was determined my service was cut by a tech out earlier connecting my neighbors Coz service. So here I so the entire weekend with no TV or internet. Monday, I will look into other options for TV & internet and after just one week and one horrible experience, dump Cox!

Scheduled installation with Cox today. High speed internet, phone and cable TV. Conformation # 10804345. They no showed. Called them..."What confirmation number" " The system doesn't recognize that number". Then the truth comes out. Didn't speak to Cox. It was a 3rd party vendor. Everybody is really sorry but the soonest they can get out now is Tuesday, the 14th. Wonder what the excuse will be Tuesday? Same old INCOMPETENT Cox I came to know when I lived here before. They are the only provider where I live now. Captive market. No accountability. No sense of urgency and no one gives a ***! I want a job like that!

Very Poor Customer Service/Tanzy

I called this morning to remove service. I was given some options. When I asked a question TANZY said she had already gone over this with me. I was about ready to go through the phone. She is there to help me and if I have a question about something she just explained then she should be prepared to answer me. If I do decide to add more service it will not be with Cox. I have been a customer for a very long time and I think this is very poor customer service. TANZY had a very bad attitude.

Details
It's a constant problem with cox, where they guarantee, over the phone, there will be no installation change. They also guarantee over the phone there will be no charge, if a technician has to come to your home to fix the problem they caused to begin with. Then ,here comes you're bill. You're charged hundreds of dollars, for something that was free. Now! People in their right mind, of course won't pay it. But how about elderly people, that may have memory problems, they just write a check. These actions by cox, is against the law, it's called grand theft. The people of Rhode Island are used to this, credit going to our politicians, of course, but I think it's high time we put a stop to this. We have to unite and bring these activities to the attention of the attorney general. So I ask everyone, who has cox to record your conversation any time you talk to cox,I do, and I have a lot of incriminating evidence against them. Let's finally put a stop, to the criminal activity in Rhode Island, one criminal organization at a time.

Cox refuses to remove late payment penalty

Sadly this year, i have had two credit cards stolen and compromised. Each had been used for automatic payment to my cox account (easy pay). Cox refuses to remove the 25 dollar "returned payment" fee for the second card, because they say they already did that once (for the first card). I have been a long standing client of cox, always with immediate payments...and I cannot believe they refuse to remove the penalty for the second card (by the way, I now have automatic payment via my bank account..so there is no risk of a nonpayment because of a compromised credit card).
