I first went with Cox after moving. I had direct TV which is another joke and complaint. The Sales person for cox told me that by using their bundle program of TV/Internet/Phone I would be able to save money with a GUARANTEE PRICE LOCK PROGRAM . Billing started out at $150.00..then went up to $180.00. After conversing with a Cox Complaint service I was told the only thing on my bundle that was PRICE LOCKED was my phone. I told the person only reason i got the land line was told the WHOLE BILLING was PRICE LOCKED. As of 1/19/2017 my billing is now showing $195.13. WHERE IS MY PRICE LOCK!!. COX RUNS A SCAM BUSINESS and NOW ONE CARES!!. I can;t get out of this *** until Sep 2018.

Details
Should I be getting charged for a service technician if the reason my Internet isn't working is not due to anything at all in my house including all of my equipment and cabling? If so why is there a self service install option? Please look into this because I'm being charged for a service tech for this very reason.

Cox Communications - Don't Order Cox Equiment Over the Phone

I called Cox to order a Netgear CM1000 modem. I had to call them because they didn't have one at my local Cox store and the sales person told me to call. In any event, despite confirming four times that I was ordering this modem and having the Cox representative repeat it to me each time, today I received a Netgear R6300 router. When I called Cox, Ty in sales told me that just because I specified something, it doesn't matter, they just ship me whatever they happen to have. I was transferred to billing to make sure I wasn't charged for the wrong equipment and the woman that I spoke with, whose name I will not give because she was very polite, confirmed what Ty told me and said if I want to get something specific, I should go to Best Buy. While I appreciate her honesty, I'm floored at how a business can have this attitude. Needless to say, I'm returning the router that they "just happened to have" and will never purchase anything from Cox again unless they have it in the store and I can hold it in my hand.

The same practice in Oceanside, Ca. with no plans to offer other solutions.

They know it and will continue to keep doing it. I've been a customer with Cox (Unfortunately) for 18 years. My only other solution is AT&T DSL, with no plans of installing fiber in our area.

Until someone want's to go after Cox via a class action suit, nothing is going to change. They are unethical and very deceptive.

Scheduled an appointment for Cox to come and see why I am not getting a signal toy modem. They were supposed to be here this morning and no one ever showed up. I called and they proceed to tell me that the order was cancelled when I missed their call to confirm the appointment. How dumb why would it cancel especially since I had just made the *** appointment. This company is the worst. I bet they want paid on time though for a service I have yet to use! Do not use Cox!!

This is typical. They don't care about customers and 25 years of loyalty means nothing to them.

Cox Communications - Reward Card Woes

In October 2015, Cox sent me a Reward Card promising $100 if I take their Cox Bronze Bundle. The requirement was the account should be active and in good standing for a minimum of 90 days. I became a Cox customer on 10/15/2015 and I have always paid the bills on time. I never received the $100 Reward Card from Cox per their promise after 90 days. I made several calls to them spent several hours waiting for a customer service representative and they always said they would send me but I never received. I went to Cox store located in Fairfax and they advised me to call the customer service billing department. So I called their billing department explaining them my situation but were never successful in receiving the Rewards Card. I made follow up calls and each time trying to explain my situation. I have made calls at least 10 times in a span of one year and wasted several hours talking to them. On 9/27/2016 I talked to a representative named Kirpal in the billing department and he promised me that he would credit my account with $100 instead of issuing me Rewards Card since it would be easier. When he said he credited my account I immediately checked my account online but did not see the credit but he said that it would take 24 hours to reflect the adjustment. So I paid the remaining amount deducting $100. $100 credit never came and now, I have an additional issue to deal with - Cox started charging me late fee for the unpaid balance! On 12/9/2016 I talked to Sarah in the billing department I heard the same story again - she said she credited the $100 and also credited my late fee but it was never applied. Now, after one year I am still waiting for the $100 that Cox promised and they apply late fee every month!!! In summary, • I always paid my bills on time • I requested multiple times for the credit and always followed up through different channels • I spent many hours on the phone waiting and then explaining my situation to the representatives • I still pay the amount I am supposed to pay every month In turn, Cox • Did not keep their promise by not paying the 100 dollars • Ignored all my requests • Did not have the courtesy to understand and try to resolve the matter • Bad customer service, in fact it doesn't exist • Did not respect my time that I spent to resolve the issue I am very much frustrated with the service I received and offended by the treatment I received Cox. With this horrible experience I would never recommend Cox to any of my friends and would spread my story so that others won't fall into this kind of trap from Cox

COX communication is monopolized money extortion business. Services are way to expensive and prices increase every 6 months for 15%. This is unacceptable and something needs to be done but I don't know by whom to start controlling pricing until COX monopoly is eliminated. No other businesses are as agresive increasing prices as crooks at COX. We the people in Louisiana simply don't have choice, direct TV by AT&T is the same crooking story, same monopoly with no competition. This is *** why am I prompted entering 100 words minimum? ***, ***, ***, ***, ***, ***, *** and *** again. COX communication is monopolized money extortion business. Terrible signal and on demand is the worst ever. Lots of freezes and jerky picture. Always when its the big game or season finale. Every time I call they send a signal, sometimes this makes it worse. I had a tech come out and they tried to up sell me to contour. No thanks. When you call they know you are super pissed so they try to ask about your day. I don't want to hear that. Fix my problem or give me my money back. Why do I pay for this? It used too be so good, now it looks like I'm just going to go with just Netflix. Time to cut the cord!
