Terrible service, I would never recommend cox to anyone I know. Tv constantly froze, contour worked maybe 10% of the time if that, and the customer service they have is a joke. If I know anyone that is preparing to invest in cox I will do everything in my power to turn them away.

I will no longer be a cox communications tv cable customer after 17 years. I pay over $100.00 per month. And for what? To buy more miniboxes in order to get the channels I am already paying for? This is a scam and consumers like us will get us to look into AppleTV or the Firestick. I was told by your customer representative that only the first 2 boxes would be free. We have 6 televisions in my household. We were told each box will cost 2.99 per month and this is yet another scam. It is no wonder why more and more American consumers are switching to the likes of Netflix, AppleTV and/or Firestick.

Details
The last few months our internet with Cox cable is interrupted every 30 minutes .We then we reset the modem for another thirty minutes .Googled Yelp reviews and this is a common problem,not related to a bad modem,but Cox's failing infrastructure I do not know why the FCA has allowed this to continue.Getting ready to disconnect and stand for hours in the long line of dissatisfied customers returning their modems.It will be more effective to walk to McDonald's order a cup of Seattle's Best and use the free Wifi,that never cuts out.This site wants at least 100 words ,I believe I said it all without getting emotional.

Cox Treating of Long Standing Clients

What bothers me about Cox, and other service providers, is when they have specials on internet, cable TV or telephone service, they don't bother calling their current "long term" and "outstanding clients" to see if they are interested in saving a few dollars. I pay $250 per month for all the services and had to call to find out what promotions are going on. I ended up getting more movie channels and paid less per month. Totally not valuing their clients or their clients dedication to Cox. Maybe more people should start switching and that will wake them up to passing on some of the rewards.

Call retention. Tell them you are fed up with their lies and if they do not credit the $300 then you will cancel.

Retention can sometimes pull wonders.

However, in this case I would just go back to a competing company and get a "new customer deal".

If it was a Cox tech hire a lawyer and sue them for harassment. If it was a free lance tech find the company and sue both Cox and the free lance company.

Cox wont want the media they will settle out of court should your stress and anxiety be significant enough. Require Cox to assure you that tech is fired.

This issue wont go beyond that call center manager so make sure it goes to the top. Contact a local tv reporter.

I agree about giving seniors a cut. I have been with COX for over 18yrs and they keep upping the price every several months.

I am 65yrs old.

If I live to be 85 I will not be able to afford all these increases. COX should give seniors a cap on their fees, especially if they have been with them for so many years!

They use both local/US reps and reps in Latin America often with US names. I had the same issue.

The foreign reps have a serious deficit in communication abilities despite knowing elementary english. Call retention and make them credit you for the inconvenience.

Digital boxes mandatory

They are telling me now I need to have a digital box for every television in my house. Of course they are happy to rent them to me. At $2.99 a month for five televisions, that's another $15 per month. I am really thinking about switching to another provider. They are always sending me junk in the mail trying to get me to upgrade, or subscribe to their phone service. I started out with basic TV and internet for $49 per month. Now I have upgraded those one level and pay $130 per month. So with these boxes they want to ram down our throats and I'm sure there will be more fees on top of those, so I will probably be over $150 a month for internet and TV. Such a rip off.

Call retention. Demand at least 30% off the price or you will cancel.

Retention will make cancellation saves in tiers. They will start by offering you cheaper packages on basic full rate pricing. Then they start to give discounts. The best they give is sometimes cheaper than new customer pricing.

The key word here is retention. They hope you wont call them and pay full price.

I have a minibox that will not activate at all. I have a second one that did activate. I replace the one that worked and set it up the same as i did the one. It did not activate. This unit needs to go back as broken.

The unit could be a direct line before it gets in the house this unit will not activate. It down loaded an update that the first unit did not.

The first unit started activation then quickly setup. Your new update will give Cox many problems and needs a patch to work. As I said I have two units.

Since the first activated I thought if I place it where the first one was at and set it for that TV it would activate but failed. As I said needs replacing.

I contacted Cox to add internet service and set up an appointment for the following Saturday morning. I was later told that my credit didn't go through. I explained that could be to a fraud alert on my credit. I was told the quickest way to clear that up was to go to a Cox store. I explained that it would be an inconvenience as there wasn't one near me. Rep informed that it was too late in the day for it to be done on the phone and that going to the store was my option. I went to the store the next day and stood in line. The rep wasn't friendly and basically told me that he didn't know why I was directed to go there. He took my ID info and said everything was completed. This morning I call in an over an hour after the time frame I was given for them being here. I had a *** rep that told me I'd been contacted and that I never called back. I asked why wasn't a message left asking me to contact them. He said my phone didn't receive voicemails with an attitude! I told him that was a lie as I receive voicemails daily. Spoke to his supervisor who told me that I would have to go through verification again and they'd give me a new appointment. No empathy so I asked to speak to her supervisor and was told that it would take 24-48 hours and that they wouldn't speak with me unless I went through verification. Totally dismayed at the customer service level and lack of wanting to correct the problem in a timely manner. I would not be surprised if I don't receive a call from a supervisor.

I went into Cox this week to order my obligatory "mini boxes". I don't even have digital TVs but am required to rent this in order to see my regular TV. I was intrigued by the Contour system and made an appointment for installation (at a $50 charge) for Sat. May 14th. And I was given a card Well, needless to say, I waited through my 2 hour window and then finally called Cox. IT WAS NEVER SCHEDULED!!! But, of course they did have a record that it was ordered and I am sure will appear on my next bill. After navigating the phone tree, I was transferred twice and finally got a Supervisor. Everyone was very nice but of course that doesn't get the installation done or salvage my wasted time......cancelled Contour. Thought things might have changed at Cox. But no. I guess there is constancy in that!
