Cox Communications review: Reward Card Woes

In October 2015, Cox sent me a Reward Card promising $100 if I take their Cox Bronze Bundle. The requirement was the account should be active and in good standing for a minimum of 90 days. I became a Cox customer on 10/15/2015 and I have always paid the bills on time. I never received the $100 Reward Card from Cox per their promise after 90 days. I made several calls to them spent several hours waiting for a customer service representative and they always said they would send me but I never received. I went to Cox store located in Fairfax and they advised me to call the customer service billing department. So I called their billing department explaining them my situation but were never successful in receiving the Rewards Card. I made follow up calls and each time trying to explain my situation. I have made calls at least 10 times in a span of one year and wasted several hours talking to them. On 9/27/2016 I talked to a representative named Kirpal in the billing department and he promised me that he would credit my account with $100 instead of issuing me Rewards Card since it would be easier. When he said he credited my account I immediately checked my account online but did not see the credit but he said that it would take 24 hours to reflect the adjustment. So I paid the remaining amount deducting $100. $100 credit never came and now, I have an additional issue to deal with - Cox started charging me late fee for the unpaid balance! On 12/9/2016 I talked to Sarah in the billing department I heard the same story again - she said she credited the $100 and also credited my late fee but it was never applied. Now, after one year I am still waiting for the $100 that Cox promised and they apply late fee every month!!! In summary, • I always paid my bills on time • I requested multiple times for the credit and always followed up through different channels • I spent many hours on the phone waiting and then explaining my situation to the representatives • I still pay the amount I am supposed to pay every month In turn, Cox • Did not keep their promise by not paying the 100 dollars • Ignored all my requests • Did not have the courtesy to understand and try to resolve the matter • Bad customer service, in fact it doesn't exist • Did not respect my time that I spent to resolve the issue I am very much frustrated with the service I received and offended by the treatment I received Cox. With this horrible experience I would never recommend Cox to any of my friends and would spread my story so that others won't fall into this kind of trap from Cox

COX communication is monopolized money extortion business. Services are way to expensive and prices increase every 6 months for 15%. This is unacceptable and something needs to be done but I don't know by whom to start controlling pricing until COX monopoly is eliminated. No other businesses are as agresive increasing prices as crooks at COX. We the people in Louisiana simply don't have choice, direct TV by AT&T is the same crooking story, same monopoly with no competition. This is *** why am I prompted entering 100 words minimum? ***, ***, ***, ***, ***, ***, *** and *** again. COX communication is monopolized money extortion business. Terrible signal and on demand is the worst ever. Lots of freezes and jerky picture. Always when its the big game or season finale. Every time I call they send a signal, sometimes this makes it worse. I had a tech come out and they tried to up sell me to contour. No thanks. When you call they know you are super pissed so they try to ask about your day. I don't want to hear that. Fix my problem or give me my money back. Why do I pay for this? It used too be so good, now it looks like I'm just going to go with just Netflix. Time to cut the cord!

Never had a problem until *** mini boxes. Today was about 6th visit by Cox to house. Cox tech checked boxes called his supervisor came back in house and told me nothing he could do as supervisor has same issues I again called Cox and got a gal in ElPaso who said not a software issue and I should not have been told that. I asked that I not be charged for cable until fixed and was told I would have to wait for supervisor to come out to check another days delay and I can only get a window of 5-7. If they do not resolve tomorrow I am off to Direct or Dish as tired of this run around

Cox Communications review: Ridiculous TV remote, mediocre service

Before I belch out disapproval of service received I want to say the Tech support has always been satisfying. TV service has been disruptive at best. They keep messing with various programs or the reception gets fuzzy or the channels in package get shuffled. We're paying good money for our service but not getting all the stuff agreed to. That's despite all the sweet talk at the other end. The other issue is with the physicality and disfunctional nature of their cumbersome remote control. I mean whoever it is that makes that remote must be severely challenged and a mere mental midget. It is very large and heavy, unappealing looking and crowded w/buttons from top to bottom. We all can agree that the most often used buttons are the channel number ones and the volume buttons. Ironically these buttons occupy the lower half or even third of the remote. Human fingers/thumb are on the front of the hand followed by the palm and wrist as a point of reference for the direction I'm going in. In order to operate this piece of trash you have to hold the bottom and push the buttons. In so doing the majority 75% or so is weighing down on your hand. In contrast our regular TV controls are much more sensible and easy to use with just one hand. With the cable remote you have to use both hands which is not what most people find suitable. I've done the research and that's my feedback. That's all! Get it right.

After many phone calls, they came and actually did a good job on installation. Also, they have been helpful, friendly, and fast on the phone in making changes to the account and crediting me for their problems.

So, what gives? I think they are basically a decent compan...

Cox Communications review: Pathetic

Cox cable internet is in a word "Pathetic", what they charge for and what you receive are nowhere close to each other. They always want to blame it on your equipment or their favorite fix "reboot" the modem. Absolute BS. The utilities commission in NV has conveniently voted itself out of having to deal with piece of *** company so there is no resource for dealing with them other than with a lawyer....bout time mine earned his retainer. If you are just moving to the Vegas area do yourself a favor and DO NOT CHOOSE COX CABLE FOR ANYTHING, the service is poor and the customer support is clueless.

I am not too with Cox internet at its too slow... We are paying 85.93 for bad net . I don't like that one bit.. Our bill goes up and for what ??? This is getting out of hand.... If they keep lieing to customers then file a consumer complaint with your state Attorney...

It is, at the very least, CRIMINAL the way COX COMMUNICATIONS is robbing the American public. I do not understand how they keep getting away with it.

Your bill is NEVER the amount you agreed to, they charge late fees before the DUE DATE. After hours of reporting these abuses, they claim it was an oversight and they will issue a credit to your account. WRONG.......they inform you it will take one to two billing cycles to correct THEIR errors, and then charge the customer two additional late fees of $20.00 each because you did not pay the $20.00 OVERCHARGE you did not owe anyway. My bill for 6 days of service included $9.66 for unlimited calls to Mexico!!!!

I have NEVER called Mexico. When I called them to inquire why I was charged for that, and I was told that PEOPLE IN CALIFORNIA NEED THAT!!!!!!!!! I DON'T live in MEXICO!!!!!.....I live on the Atlantic Seaboard..... Plus, as I mentioned, my bill was for only 6 days, and they charged ALL of their customary monthly rip-off fees if it is service for 1 day or 31.

Where are the governmental agencies who are funded to prevent these thefts from the American people. PLEASE, PLEASE submit any legal remedies available to customers if you have knowledge of steps to take.

PLUS, please submit the name of any company available who follows the laws of the land and doesn't cheat the consumer. Thank you.

Cox Communications review: Cox TV = Horrible value

Cox should change part of their name (Communications) to Suckers! They "sell" you packages with half of their channels being blatant advertising and shopping channels, not to mention the crazy preachers channels. If you removed those channels and the weather channels and reruns of old news and 60 year old TV reruns you'd have about 5 -15 REAL channels in their packages. Bunch of crooks. They must spend most of their money bribing their {{Redacted}} in Congress to allow them to keep shearing all of their sheeple customers. Big cities should band together and close them down and run their own fiber optic network for internet and TV services. Love to see them run out of town by a Mayor with a spine!
