My bundle for Ultimate had expired, as I had for 2 years, so they wanted to increase my price by a huge amount (going from 115 to well over 190/month). So, I went to the website, and did the next few things, and this was the outcome: The website offered a bundle which the apartment complex couldn't honor. Had to call and confirm order, which the lady on the phone did, and took off phone service, so I could get the rest of the bundle. Then I had to go buy a $200 modem. Then I went to the Cox Store, who couldn't see that I setup service, or put a deposit. Then I picked up the boxes from Cox Store, went home and plugged them in Then I plugged in the cable modem I purchased (CM1000) Then I had to get it activated, which it wouldn't connect, sure and the helpdesk said that I couldn't get the service here. Then they said I couldn't activate due to the Cm1000 not being compatible, then they said that I'd have to have a professional install, instead of a self install, which the lady on the phone and store said I could do. Then I spoke to a manager, and he activated the account, but modem wouldn't activate. Then I returned the item via Amazon (still waiting on UPS to pick up) Then I went to the cox store and they tried to resolve the issue, but couldn't add the modem. Then they finally were able to add phone service, and give me the modem. Then I go home, and the modem won't activate, though they activated at the store. So I had to call support again, and they stated that there was a work order open to install. They resolved the work order, and 'activated' the modem, and said they would reboot it. That was the end of the call, and the guy was very rude. Then The modem came online, but couldn't activate due to a major unexpected outage in our area (note, the downstairs neighbor has cox, and no outage there, so whatever) Then the lady on the support phone (cuz I had to call yet again), said that the work order was completed, but the service not activated on the account, so she activated it, but couldn't get the service to work because of the outage. Then around 2am my service came online, and I was finally able to do about 8 hours of work in 3 hours, and have no *** sleep. This has been one HUGE screw up by Cox since upgrading my service, and I am MOST ASSUREDLY NOT HAPPY AT ALL.

I've been with Cox for almost 6 years just for cable TV. I dobt need phone or internet. what started as a $55 rate 6 years ago they now want to charge $120 for a basic package!!! after cpmplainig they dropped back downt to $64.99. if you are a loyal customer, they will screw you with rate hikes you havebto call and complain to keep then honest. I dont know how they stay in busness like that. Thank goodness there are more options available forcing them to be competive.

I've been without service for 6 days. They send a tech and he says he doesn't know what's wrong & I have to reschedule for another tech to come out.

I do and he tells me the same thing.

What abuch of incompetent people. I am now looking for a new cable provider

Gone out many times, and today, gone slow

Before, it went out at least 10 times over 6 months. Now speeds are far slower than normal. 0.25 Mb/s compared to the normal 50 + Mb/s speeds.

Contour is AWFUL. Cox techs are incompetent.

Picture freezes, box resets without warning. Pixilation. I've had at least a dozen techs out to look at it - each claiming to have finally fixed the problem. Not a chance! This problem has been going on for months now. I got the new and "improved" Contour system in November. I thought the old system was poor quality, this is much, much worse. Who cares if you have voice command if half the time the system is down? Some companies just deserve to go out of business...I guess I'm stuck with Cox for internet, but there are alternatives like Hulu and Amazon that provide most of what I watch. Will not miss Cox at all.

IT SHOULD BE ILLEGAL FOR LAND BASED INTERNET COMPANIES TO HAVE DATA LIMITS. For the longest time Cox has had a meter that allows you to watch your usage but never charged you for going over their stupid limit but now they have finally imposed a fee for going over. There is no point to this *** 1TB of data for your highest tier of internet package is A *** JOKE. 1.5TB is the average amount of data. People need to stand up and get involved with their government to stop this garbage. REGULATE THIS *** Government needs to do it's job and protect the rights of its people. The internet has grown so much that is becoming a necessity for life similar to electric and prices of internet should be regulated as such.

I know exactly what you mean. I was under the cap for months, watching to ensure my average usage per month prior to the cap.

Then when cap took affect, suddenly my usage went over almost 50 percent and was charged an additional $80 with no prior notice. When I called about this, they couldn't tell me why their notification system is suddenly not working any longer and that I probably had data leakage due to old wiring, that they could fix at a cost to me.

Cost of new panoramic Wi-fi

We called to get the panoramic Wi-fi since the standard Wi-fi box was inadequate for coverage around the house. When we called they said they had to charge $25 for the new modem which would be returned in 1 year which I could understand.

It was when they wanted to charge an additional $20 for activating the service. Why would they charge to activate a service that we already have which as mentioned was inadequate? When I asked for a supervisor she said they would tell me the same thing. I said ok, please put a supervisor on.

She then said that there were no supervisors available, that they all went home. I mean please!

Really! And Cox wonders why people have had it with their services and additional charges.

They billed me more than double the quoted price at the time of install

I was quoted basic internet at $29.95, so I told them to install it. The first bill was for $63 a month for slow internet. When I called and asked them why the price more than doubled from what I was quoted, the rep said it was cancelled the day after I told them to install it, and then re-established for $63 a month. I asked the rep who cancelled it and why, and he said someone at COX cancelled it. The reps notes showed that I never even called COX the next day, or any time after I agreed to the install. They fraudulently cancelled my account, so they could set it back up at more than twice the rate I agreed to. The first rep I spoke with said he could give me a $20 courtesy credit??? even though they just charged me $30 more than I was quoted. After many more calls, the issue is still not resolved, even though all the reps I spoke with acknowledged it was their mistake and shouldn't have happened.

1.) Got a Cox Cable box delivered when I said NO I don't want Cox Cable. 2.) Back in March of this year. I opened box and got the return sticker out and mailed it back to Cox. 3.) Yes, I sent a complaint like I'm doing again. And now Cox sent a bill to collections, so now Cox has messed up my credit score. I'm tired of being harrassed for a bill that I should not have. If Cox wants to come out to my place and see that I don't have what they say I have, come on over. They will see that there's no cable wire anywhere, besides the Direct TV cable. With all this crap I'll NEVER get Cox Cable. See the pic shows that they were to unsubscribe me completely. Please do so. Can only contact me thru email. Thank you, Ms. Burchett

Worst Company

Worst company ever, i cancelled my homelife service which i was using for over 5 years. I was one of their very first customers, i was on their 3 years contract which will pay off your equipment if you stay for 3 years however these crooks sent me a $350 bill for their stupid touch screen device which is paid for. whenever i called their dumb customer service, i got this runaround Oh you have to pay the fees because it was rented ( what a bunch of liars). Bottom line is stay far away from these crooks, they will come up with bunch of fat lies and turn you over to a collection agency.

Ripped off

We went with cox for the internet speed. We got a bundle because there was a price break but we use internet for TV and told the tech to take the equipment with him. ..all we needed was the modem. the advantage of the bundle expired and we went with internet only. suddenly we are charged $300 for equipment we never got. They won't listen, they won't give you names or numbers of anyone that could help, and I had a choice of the credit mark or pay the extortion. monopolies suck and this one should definitely be broken up. customer service is a big fat zero and the company is a bunch of criminals. find another company if you can.

MMA movie charge
