Cox Communications review in Phoenix, Arizona: Poor service and lack of concern after 30 yrs.+ as a customer

For the past 11 months, phone and cable TV service has been poor--constant loss of conversation due to static on phone line and cable TV box needing to be re-booted numerous times. After several attempts to resolve, told Cox person I was looking for another provider after 30+ yrs. as a Cox Customer. A field tech then visited my home and tried to fix problem with the same, worn-out Cox solution--reboot the signal and change the modem. This has been done numerous times in 2016 with no success but that's all the tech's know to do. In 11/16, last tech. said he was now personally assigned to my account and if any problems, call him directly. Same problem surfaced 45 days after he left my home so I phoned and left a message to call but he did not return my call. Tried to leave another message the next day but now his Cox cell phone was full and wouldn't take any more messages. Terrible service and it doesn't seem like anyone with Cox in Arizona cares. The company seems to pride itself on being a great place to work when they should be focusing more reliable equipment, knowledgeable techs and improving customer service.....Jim Brandes.

Cox Communications review: Equipment not recieved by COX two years later sent to collection for $150

Cox sent a replacement modem that I did not request. I mailed it in their envelope. Used the new modem and then sold our house. When I returned the new modem and all the boxes with every power cord and remote I was told that the old modem was showing owed. I said I mailed it in the envelop tCOX provided and that Cox must have lost it. if I was going to not return a modem don't you think I would keep the new one? The new house we used cox and have over 14 boxes and modem. Not once did someone call to say that COX decided the lost modem was not their fault but I recieved a collection notice for $150 seriously been on the phone for 15 min and no one cares that I spend $450 per month on service they are willing to have me leave as a customer over a ancient modem that woudn't even cost $25 now

I have been without cable service for 2 months. There have been 7 visits from different techs. I have had to wait many hours, reschedule my work schedule and still no service. When O call support or even request a supervisor, I get different answers. The provl is not the equipment or the lines into my home but the "outside feed", they have not told me what they intend to do. I can't imagine a company of the magnitude and the only one servicing my area to be so incompetent! It's a monopoly and I am prepared to take legal action. Looking into a class action, I'm sure I am not alone

I was fine with cox until I moved. Set an appointment with cox the day I moved into my new house to install internet. No show. That evening I hook up my router from my old house and it worked. Ok I thought. Several days go by and out of the blue one morning I get a call from a cox tech saying he is on his way to install. Tells me my modem is the wrong one for this house. Tells me the speed I'm paying for won't work with this modem. Worked fine at the old house but whatever. He has one on the truck but doesn't have a battery for the back up, tells me I can stop by the cox store and pick one up. I go the store and pick one up. I notice this new router is not very fast either. I go to the cox store and am told the router he installed is wrong and now needs and new modem and router as they don't make one that is combined anymore. So after I install myself, pay cox to come whenever they want to install the wrong equipment, install myself a second time. Internet connection is still way slow. Paying for 300 on an ultimate plan getting may 35 download. Call tech support. 2hr later. Told my problem is with wifi and they would have to charge me to come fix it and if it was the wifi was the problem they don't do anything with it. They don't even stand behind there equipment they sell you. Off to the cox store again to get the router replaced under warranty. Didn't work. Still slow. Of course all this equipment and fees for installing the wrong stuff has sent the bill sky high and in the 3 months I have moved. I have been disconnected twice they said for not paying my bill. Even thought I have paid them close to $500 during this time. My $99 internet connection has never worked at the speeds I'm paying for. The second time they disconnected me I took the modem and router back and told them I was done I would find another way. They said they don't refund equipment and that was mine, didn't matter if I had service or not. I cancelled my service at the store and made them give me a receipt that I returned the equipment. Later that day I get a phone call from an automated system that they need to talk to me immediately about my service. Nice service cox you screw up and customers get pissed you can't call you have an automated caller call.

This is typical of Cox. Multiple answers to the same questions, different pricing depending on who you talk to, and promotional agreements that - poof!

- are suddenly gone and nobody can find a record of that conversation. Truly horrific.

My original lock in price was 154.75 but when I get the bill it's for $186, which the rep says was a "one time" credit when I paid the first bill. How would I even know that Cox reps can do a "lock-in" rate? They are the one who told me about it!

Cox Communications review: Tillany Kennedy was totally unwilling to try to resolve a simple problem. Very unpleasant to interact with. One of the worst I've ever experienced.

For six months I have been trying to have a COX cable that runs from the street approximately 300 feet to my home buried. Countless calls to the company that Cox contracts with to do that work have only been answered by voice recorder and no return calls have ever been received. Subsequently, I've gone to your SOLUTIONS store and asked them to contact someone on my behalf to have the cable buried. After several unsuccessful attempts I returned again on November 29th and asked to speak to the manager who I was told is Tiffany Kennedy. Tiffany was totally unwillin to try alternate solutions to this problem that has gone on endlessly for many months.
