Contract terms - deceitful salesman

2.1
Details
Sales team member sold me a 2 year term at fixed rate discount. After year one the discount was reduced and my charges increased by $20/month. I contacted Cox and was informed the sales team member was did not provide accurate details of the agreement. The customer service manager informed me it was on every billing statement and that I should have been aware. I was offered no resolution and simply informed of the actual agreement. The customer service manager informed me I had 60 days to voice my concern from the start of the contract which I failed to do. The salesman was extremely deceitful during the selling process and explained very clearly that the agreement was fixed for 2 years. At no time did he explain and reducing discount over a 3 year term.

New mini box so every tv needs to pay

Since when do monopoly utility's care about anything except taking money? Real nice socialist party line about 40% bandwidth being used by analog TV viewers. Lets be a realist. Cox wants to engage in a battle for our minds by controlling "media." They are not television channel purveyors anymore. Cox has given up on the most basic of service options. It simply gets in the way of bigger dreams. They are a more "evolved' entity now. The added bonus is never again will a simpleton be able to split a signal in the home and receive "unauthorized" TV. And since millions of government and Cox employees do not worry about service cost in their lives, they make great ambassadors while forgetting about the lives of the people in front of the "media. Oh and how great that its encrypted! It is real secure now. Television that watches us with cameras can now transmit that information out of our homes. Of course that is what will happen in future. Everything is now set up for it. Thanks politicians for letting this happen.

I have contacted cox reward center. They said that they had received my reward card form on 4/1/2016. They said it could take up to 4 to 6 weeks before it was approved and mailed. I have paid every bill on time for over 6 months. How come it takes so long to review...

Let me go on record and say. I literally despise Cox Cable!!! I hated their service 5 years ago and I hate it still to this very day!!! I'm forced to have them as a provider because of where I live and just for that I cannot WAIT to move. My internet bill is 80 dollars...EIGHTY DOLLARS. I only use it to stream Netflix and Hulu on ONE DEVICE and every time I use it I'm disconnected, or it buffers, or I have to reboot my modem, and it's supposed to be the highest speed!!! So today I go in to 1) See about these digital cable boxes they're making everyone get and 2) Ask about my 80 dollar internet bill. So I'm at the CSR center on Eraste Landry in Lafayette, La and I encounter a rep named Stephanie. When I went in, Stephanie was behind her counter clicking away on her computer. She called my name (from behind the counter) and I walked up. I told her I needed the digital cable boxes and that I had been using bunny ears to catch channels but no longer had a good variety. She then proceeded to cut me off and insinuate that I was stealing cable! She told me that I must have been receiving those channels from the previous tenants services that were never cut off. I explained to her that I know they cut all services from the previous tenant off because I was on the phone when they did it and was at home when the cable guy came to install my internet and ONCE AGAIN explained I had an antenna. She went on to say that the cable guy must have not cut the lines and that "people" get free services all the time. I was speechless at this point. So as we moved on to discuss internet I told her how I had a colleague who had internet thru COX and only paid $30 and could stream at high speeds with no problem. Once AGAIN she cut me off to say that my friend probably had a bundle deal with cable and that it depended on speed (which I understand), when she started the service, and all kinds of other excuses to make up for my high a## bill. I told her how although I have the highest speed that I still get disconnected or my service drags and of course before I could finish my sentence she stated that I should check my modem (which I'm very knowledgeable about) or bring it in to switch it out. At that point I was beyond angry and insulted. She then gave me a price of $140.00 for an Internet/ cable deal which I said no thank you to and thanked her for her time. Then she didn't even walk me out!!! Needless to say I still can NOT stand this company and as for Stephanie she needs to try another field because customer service is not her forte. There's no excuse for this *** poor service, at home or in person! I will avoid COX CABLE at ALL cost in the future and you should too!!!

Cox Communications - Cable Account Review from Argyle, Florida

I loved reading the experience of the guy from Rhode Island; I believe him about his billing experience because Cox Communications is so inept even here Florida! The visiting Market Manager threatened to call 911 on me! Why? She said I was condescending in my attitude! I replied that your customer service or lack thereof is condescending! I also offered to call the cops for the Market Manager -- I said they will laugh at you and charge you with falsifying an urgent matter over the 911 emergency line. Cox Communications for residential customers is horrible! God I wish I could get an aerial antenna for over the air (OTA) Signals, but I am geographically disadvantaged with bodies of water and military bases. I was laughing because when the ineptness is seen and experienced in person; one has to laugh to get through it. The audacity of Cox to charge a customer a "self installation fee" of $20.00 to install the mini-box! I figured Cox Communication's would have had their "analog to digital migration process" down pat and smooth, but NO! Stay away from Cox Communications! I never thought I would see in my life that a different telecommunications company could actually be worse than my 13 years with Comcast.

Hi My name is Angel Williams. I called cox communications to have a payment pulled off of my card I don't know the name of the lady I talk I told her that I would come in Friday to make a payment. She told me to set it for Saturday just to be sure I told her that I know for sure I would come in and make the payment she kept saying to leave it for Saturday. I on the 8th of April 2016 I went into cox communications to make a payment instead of having them pull the money off the card I paid with a chase money order I only needed to pay 166.63 this was at the cox communications at 122 S Airline Hwy Gonzales La 70737 and the name cashier tha help was name Ebony and that was at 11:05 a.m. My husband stoped by the store on Saturday the 9th to put gass in the when he car realized he didn't have money on the card cox communications had pulled the $166 of the card as well so they got paid twice the money that was left on the card was for my car payment the people is threatening to take my car because of cox communications has pulled that money off of my card.I have been with cox communications for 11 years now. I am very pissed off because they made an unauthorized transaction off of my card I promise you I will never ever use cox communications again if they don't resolve this issue this is uncalled for I have a child that has asthma and I cannot afford to lose my car.If you need to contact me you may do so at (225)206-3978

I (unfortunately) was a customer of Cox for 20 years (I am ashamed to admit that) I have now moved out of California and closed my bill out. The person I closed my account out with said I did not owe them any money at all now I have a bill for an additional $86.40 for a telephone modem that I did not even order there is no telephone modem in the house I just left. When I ask for a copy of the work order or the completion form I was suppose to have signed they said I would have to go into a Cox store and get a copy because the "Customer Service" office could not give out that kind of information because they did not have access to it. What did they bill me from? And why did they wait until I moved out of state to bill me? They are great at raising there rates but when it comes to service what a joke. I would recommend sending smoke signals before I would recommend Cox Communications.

I agree!!! I'm glad someone is looking into them.

Unfortunatley my building is only wired to them, soon to be changed. They know they have you. If you ask for a reduction, like you I've been with them over 20 years, they put you on hold, look to see what other companies are there and see they are the only one. They charge for everything.

It's a monopoly and it needs to stop.

I can't wait till they finish wiring for other companies. And being HANDICAP would help, but nooooooo if they have to send a tech out I will be charged...I'm tired of fighting with them and supervisors.

Companies like (COX M) is what causes the Liberals to step in and decide on how you should treat customers. I am trying to reduce my bill since I am now retired and on a fixed income. There is no way that anyone should be paying for channels you don't watch, like 95% of what's in your package. I don't watch sports or speak Spanish and to add insult to injury, the important channels I need is in a package with a higher price... And now I have to purchase extra boxes since you decided that the only way I can watch regular and local channels is to purchase this new digital mini box. After 30 yrs as a customer I am on the *** of dropping cox and going back to reading books only. Who *** needs TV...

Summary: Was charged tree times as much as promised. You can't talk to a supervisor. They mysteriously have no transfer capability Supervisor will only try to contact you once and never try again(although I have yet to receive even a miss call from one and I was promised three calls) They still refuse to connect me with someone to dispute charges or even did anything to say sorry for the inconvenience When I started with cox the bundle deal was supposed to come out to a little bit above 130 monthly. they never bundled my package so I was paying over 300 after 2 hours on the phone I was promised a supervisor phone call because apparently they refuse to talk to anyone with a balance even if they were obviously overcharged(mind you had made a payment a couple weeks prior that brought my account back up to date) I never received the supervisor call so I called back. After another hour someone finally realized I was being over charged. He did the adjustments and told me I can pay online going forward to avoid any surchargeS and keep an eye out for the invoice highlighting all the adjustments. When I go to pay online I can't access my account because supposing there were two accounts associated with my address and even with my account number. I also stopped receiving invoice by mail for some reason. Next letter to arrive at my place was a collection letter. I complained on their Facebook page and next day got a response from a rep there. Turns out the rep before still didn't bundle the package right. I said I wanted to cancel my account. A supervisor would reach out to me to process because that rep couldn't. Never received a call. Called back and a rep who was contradicting himself said his reason for doing so was because he had asked his supervisor. When I asked for him to put his supervisor on the phone he hung up on me and locked my account so now I can't speak to anyone but collections. I wished I looked up reviews of this company because i would not have ever signed up with them. Seems like this is a normal occurrence for them.

Called in yesterday to get a price for adding TV service. I told the guy i just wanted a quote. The price was too high so i told him we would wait because i needed to chat with the wife. Well to my suprise, the next day he processed the order without my consent. I got an email confirmation and called; the rep advised that the previous rep had actually placed the order at the end of his shift. Awesome integrity Cox; what was done is illegal.

Cox Phones Out

WE noticed our phone was out. A number calling us showed on the TV screen, but we could not answer, nor could we call out, no dial tone, nothing, tried all of the "fixes" they have on their website, unplugging phones, only plugging one in, etc. Nothing. We had internet and TV just fine, but no phone. Their "online chat" session determined that we had signal for the numbers on the Screen but that our "modem" was out. We have never had a modem for phone and explained this to them. Last week, when this happened, I noticed Cox trucks all over the neighborhood, and two other neighborhoods in our areas. I spoke with one of their subcontractors, who said the house behind us had the same issue, and that there must be bad wiring in it. These guys were diligently checking all the wires on houses all over the place and could not correct the problems. Mind you this is THEIR OWN CONTRACTORS and their own people. Now, you'd think, with a set-up like they have, with the cable box outside splitting the signal into the phone line for the house, and Cable being out, this couldn't be a wide-spread problem like this, especially without their own people knowing about it. Well, they finally sent someone out to our house, who asked to see our modem. We explained we have never had a modem for telephone, that it comes from the Cox connection box on the back of the house. He disconnected our Cable TV (and hence internet) fiddled around, and determined we are getting no signal. THEN he says, well, we will have to rent or purchase a "digital cable to digital telephone" modem (remember our phone worked fine for YEARS without this) which needs to be connected inside the house with household power! One of the reasons we HAVE a landline phone such as this is that it works WITHOUT household power, or affecting our internet! (The box is a docsis 2.0 internet box, where they recently REQUIRED us, just a few months ago to get a docsis 3.0 internet modem!) So, going to obsolete technology on the internet to switch to "new" unproven technology on the telephone? No thanks. I told my wife, just cancel the service, we do not need or want "digital" telephone. What's even more interesting? THEY NEVER NOTIFIED ANY of their customers of this supposed change, and just suddenly cut it off, and millions of customers are apparently without phone service without switching back to a local telephone company!

Please turn our ANALOG phone back on. We will have none of this "digitial modem telephone" crap. Our current phones have worked fine for years and we do not want this Internet Phone crap.

Mini Box Connection

I just got another mini box and tried to install it myself. However. it's nothing like the first mini box that was sent to me. I am 71 years old and cannot get behind my tv and think that there should not be a charge for installing something that COX requires. That's my opinion and I still do not have my tv connected to the mini box. That's all the words I wish to enter. I don't have 100 words to enter. Having to enter 100 words is ridiculous. I have explained what he issue is and that should be enough!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
