Signed up for new TV/Internet bundle. Quoted price: $89.99 plus state taxes/FCC surcharges. At time of signup, the exact amount of these taxes/surcharges could not be determined. I understand these charges, and on the first bill they total $7. This is NOT an issue. However, there is also an additional $23 "additional TV" charge on the bill. I called customer service and was told this does not refer to a physical "additional TV", rather additional charges for cable box rental, regional sports charges and broadcast surcharge.

This "Additional TV" charge was never mentioned at sign up time.

In fact I asked at sign up time, and again when I visited the local Cox store to pickup the cable box, if the $89.99 was the total monthly amount, both entities said $89.99 plus the state/local/federal taxes would be it. Absolutely no mention of the "$23 additional TV" charge in addition to the taxes.

I'm sure that the "state/local/federal" tax comment made by all of Cox representatives is enough to cover their butts from a legal perspective, but it clearly indicates that Cox Communications is an unethical company full of liars and scammers.
