Details
The Cox installer was here four hours connecting four TV receivers and a modem. He was on the phone almost that whole time. They have been out twice since. Replaced the modem. Today my wife returned her receiver. This replacement seems to work, but I'm not holding my breath. WHY DID THEY INSTALL USED HARDWARE?

Also contact your congress critters to urge that cable and internet be regulated as utilities. Also complain to your local franchise authority.

Enough complaints can actually get the cable company FIRED!! I know because we did it to AT&T when the took over cable services in Jacksonville, FL.

Details
I signed up for what i thought was TV and internet, was tricked into two year home monitoring. I cancelled service after 8 days... Cox threatened to sue me for early termination, ruin my credit, make me lose my home, etc. My lawyer said they(Cox) have spent thousands in order to collect hundreds. They are the {{Redacted}} of the communication industry!!!

After many phone calls, they came and actually did a good job on installation. Also, they have been helpful, friendly, and fast on the phone in making changes to the account and crediting me for their problems.

COX Communications purposely falsifies information on customers who discontinue service. This has destroyed our credit rating.

COX Communications gets away with unethical business practices -- They falsify information and do not notify a person who has discontinued their service of a bill COX thinks the person owes. One service representative told me the service was performed at an address where we never lived. Did I pay someone else's bill???? COX would not authorize removal of false information from our credit report. However, debt collection agency to which COX gave false information removed immediate black marks. We still cannot get credit now due to all of the inquiries on our credit report as we were repeatedly denied credit. The Experiean credit report shows the false address COX used.

I've had Cox for 12 months now. First signed up in Walmart they promised my bill would be $99/month. Get 1at bill it's $200. I was pissed because the Rep lied to sign me up. Besides that Cox Customer service sucks ***! The reps will hang up on you real fast! An so will them so called Managers. Cox has ridiculously prices an every month the bill goes up. Cox is a rip off. If your not a customer. Please don't waste your time Joining an getting stuck in a 2 yr contract.!! Please don't! I regret ever doing business with them. Will never happen again.

I signed up for cox 12/2012 and before they could install service the rep said I required a $250 dollar deposit which was fine because I had the money at that time. The rep then asked for me for my debit card, the expiration date and 3 digit security code on the back , I gave him that and he said it was charged and that now I can schedule a day for a technician to come out and install my boxes.

2 days later my cable was installed. I get my first bill and it's almost $400! Why? Because my card was never charged and when I called in to explain that, the rep was a *** to me she said "well of we didn't charge the card whose fault is it, yours right?" And I immediately got pissed and hung up in her face, I've called 3 other times after that and they insist that it's my fault that my card wasn't charged.

So they put it on my credit and now I'm suffering from it and they won't remove the mistake the made. They've also done this to a friend of mines. What kind of dumb *** people do they have working for this company?

I hate them ! Cox you suck ...
