I helped my son who was working at the time to get Cox cable, internet, and they offered a free phone--for $99.99/per month When the first Bill arrived the actual bill was $146 and change, Upon calling in to the service line I was told that the promotion we signed up for was not right. After pleading with the service man over the phone he stated that the bill would be reduced to $123.00/per month but we would have to return the phone since it really cost $31.00 per month. As a result we will not honor the bill and be seeking computer service and cable to another provider.

Cox Business Contract Not Worth The Paper Its Written On

They say one thing and do another. I had them come out and install phone systems and internet for my business, was a total disaster, phones were not right for a week. Then the bill. They told me for 3 months don't worry will get it corrected - well it never did. The charge this month is double and the cost per month is substantially higher than what agreed to and we have a written contract! Totally frustrated, spoke with so many different people at Cox and they all say it's because of this account # and that one was transferred over and you have now 8 lines and I said what 8? It's the toll-free # and its the Fax # you wanted to keep, and well we had to close this account and start this one and its an endless mess. Doesn't make sense, had to file a complaint today with the FTC and FCC.

Cox Treating of Long Standing Clients

What bothers me about Cox, and other service providers, is when they have specials on internet, cable TV or telephone service, they don't bother calling their current "long term" and "outstanding clients" to see if they are interested in saving a few dollars. I pay $250 per month for all the services and had to call to find out what promotions are going on. I ended up getting more movie channels and paid less per month. Totally not valuing their clients or their clients dedication to Cox. Maybe more people should start switching and that will wake them up to passing on some of the rewards.

Horrible horrible customer service

I have not had dial tone and Cox has continued to charge me for my phone... when I called they said I had a couple of cancellations on my account.. I have never cancelled an appt with them.. Not only bad service but they also lie.. I have been a customer with them for 15 years.. this is how they treat their old customers.. shame on them.. I am disconnecting their service I use to be happy with their service ...Not happy with them anymore service ... This is so sad, they treat their customers this way

My bill with this company has increased almost 10 percent per year for over a decade.The average US inflation rate since 2006 is less than 2 percent.

The highest was 4.1 percent and the lowest 0.1 percent. How can Cox justify this kind of increase?

Cox Enterprises ranks number 17 as America's Largest Private Company, yet number 5 as the richest family.I'm all for free enterprise, but somehow this seems to indicate an unacceptable face of capitalism.

There is never any discount when the internet is down, and they have extremely poor customer service.

Cox service is absolutely atrocious! The channels go off the air frequently. Inputting channel numbers is slow. Channels load slowly too. Their On-Demand service is so horribly cobbled together a team of pre-schoolers could do a better job designing the interface and user interaction. We live in the Irvine Company apartments and are forced to use Cox. We can't get a dish because we face the wrong way. It's just too bad.

Cox - working hard to be THE WORST telecom in the industry

Moved about 1/2 mile down the street. Had been Cox customers since 2008. Thought and expected it would be a simple process to transfer our account from one address to another, or at the least a routine matter to close our old account and open a new one at our new address. Oh what fools we were. Cox: - charged an "early termination fee" of $210 to close the old account - charged a $100 deposit to open the new account - lied through their teeth about the internet/cable/telephone "deal" we ordered, adding Cinemax, HBO, Showtime, DVR Service, Starz to the bill without our consent or approval. - continues to give us the runaround about the $300+ credit THEY SHOWED US HAVING on the old account. - today, after 20 minutes on hold waiting for a Cox human and then another 10 minutes on hold once I was able to tell the human I would NOT be paying the "early termination fee" come *** or high water, said human told me we would get an "application" within the next two weeks to "apply" for exemption of the early termination fee. W.T.H.

I would like to say Cox business is the worst support I have ever used in my professional career. I need a tech out. I wanted to check the RF. They told me a tech would be out tomorrow 8-10 in the morning. Next day no tech. I call support mind you our Cox bill for business is about 900$. I call in and they proceed to tell me there is an outage in the area so no tech could come out. (Rick The Supervisor) from national data center. Cost them a customer soon as someone else shows up.

They lied about the installation fee and monthly fee.

They told me that my internet service will be $19.99 a month and there will no be installation fee. So I agreed to sign up for their service. However, when I get the bill, they charged me $20.00 for installation and $30.00 a month for my internet service. When I called them regarding the bill; They said they never offer that price though I still have their ad stating in print $19.00 per month. When I called, they said they have to submit a form for the price they quoted me on the phone before I switched to them from AT&T. They said I will not be able to get that price because I don't have cable. However, that was not what they said when I called the 1st time and made the decision to switch over. They promised and don't deliver. They actually lied to get the business and did not keep their end of the bargain.

Cox Modem Challenge

Had a land line that I closed in March 2010. Returned the modem to Cox. Have two witnesses. Now 3.5 years later they are charging me $6.99 for the modem I returned. They state that I can just go find the receipt for the returned modem and they will stop the charges. Now I have to take my time and hope I still have receipt. I am not sure why Cox is doing this, but a few weeks before I was having trouble getting my emails from my laptop to my I phone and a guy who works for a company cox contracts with (all there technical support is a different company by the way) told me if I pay extra they will sink all my calls to my phone better since it was constantly being disrupted. Then I called to check that out (the charges) and found that they were charging 6.99 more but it was for the modem issue not to have better service. Go figure that one out. They said they were doing this audit to 10000's of people

Poor service from COX national "service center"

I experienced decent customer service for a number of years from the local Cox service center but some buffoons at the national level have decided that they are going to do everything they can to sabotage that. They are now forcing all service related calls to go through their National Service Center (or "NSC") and, if you have not yet had the experience of working with these incompetent, rude jerks you will soon be subjected to this if you are a Cox customer. Great way to totally *** off your customers and drive away long-time clients! It's amazing how some companies can be so clueless and will reward their incompetent managers for decisions that will ultimately drive away their prime customers.

COX is a joke without a punch line

Always down yet they take you down the one way street from ***. After they reset everything you own they finally find out it's their problem. My solution is every time the speed gets slow set up an appointment for the COX guy. Then it's always fixed by the morning then I cancel the appointment. What a bunch of BOZO's Years ago they were so bad that the CITY OF IRVINE routed every call they had through the city. That got them on the ball maybe its time again for the city of Irvine to get actively involved.
