Cox Communications - "Fixed" the phone service/now modem's useless

I have the Cox bundle. People complained that they couldn't hear me. The service tech fixed the phone service by moving it to the internet. This required a new cable modem. "For the past few years we've been moving our phone service over to digital." Cox recommended (and sold me) a new modem in May due to internet issues. If this "move to digital" has been underway for a "few years", then why didn't they sell me the correct modem in May? They won't refund what I paid for the modem. I've been a customer for for nearly 20 years. When I mentioned that this irked to the point of moving my phone service away from Cox, they simply said, "OK." No wonder they're bleeding subscribers.me

Cox Communications in Phx AZ worst customer service

I never have a good experience whenever I call Cox. Several times I have had internet problems and called and they have to reset it and whenever they do this you lose your telephone connection. They tell me they will call me back to continue the process. I have waited up to 2 hours without anyone calling me and the process has not been completed. I have called them back and even asked to talk to supervisors. They even tell me this is not right and they will see that this problem is corrected only to call the next time and it is still the same. They LIE. Today I called about a loose wire from the tv box outside that I have tripped over and almost had a bad fall. When the rep answered I told him of my problem and also asked some questions about some of the other services they offer. He could not help me in any way and said I needed to speak with 2 other depts and he would transfer me to the first one. Not too bad as I insisted he stay on line since I had already waited over 30 minutes. So the next person tells me it will take 2 days to get someone here to fix this danger. They do a transfer and i wait and wait again. The rep picks up line and I tell her the next thing and assume she is looking for the answer. I am again waiting, waiting.... The a guy answers who knows nothing about what I am referring or who I haqd been talking with. He puts me on hold and I am again waiting, waiting, waiting for him to return. No such luck. I again get a completely different person and I tell him I want a Supervisor. Supervisor picks up after a brief wait. I find out that I am out of my area and talking to someone in CA who says this service is not yet available. When he finds out I am calling from AZ he tells me that I need to call back to get a rep in AZ. I tell him i WILL NOT go thru this again as by now I am getting chest pains and am dizzy. He said he would compensate my bill in some way if he could but I would have to call Mon and talk to the billing dept in Phx. He admitted that non of this should have happened. Surprise, Surprise. Any one with any sense knows this should not happen and there should be much better customer support than what they currently have. If I could, I would have different service than Cox. But my TV service is included in my HOA dues and this is what I am stuck with. It also saves me money since I have the bundle with internet and telephone.

Cox Communications - How hard is it to transfer a phone number?

I decided to bundle after problems with AT&T--went to Cox--had TV and internet. Two weeks later, six different "customer service" representatives have apologized repeatedly and assured me the transfer will take place at such and such time. Here I sit after the latest deadline in phone number limbo. I am afraid if one of their reps apologizes one more time that I will start screaming expletives. I have talked to the third party verification folks three times. They keep telling me they don't know why Cox keeeps sending me to them--the transfer has been verified. Word of warning--don't try to switch phone service to Cox and keep your number --they don't know how--after all, the telecommunications industry has been doing this for 30+ years. Obviously, they are in the slow group.
