Bad attitudes, poor service, charges for self service, bad advice like I needed to buy a new modem and the old SB6141 was perfectly fine. Charges are extravagant, was charged for first time installation and tech said house did not have cable connection before and it did. Tried to charge for equipment and I was harassed on my bill for it for over 6 months. Cell phone mobile data as Wi-Fi more desirable from Verizon than Customer Service reps like James. (Nosy Jerk)

User's recommendation: Use your mobile unlimited data as Wi-Fi. 12 months contract with Cox cost minimum of $720.00.

Dont bother with the FCC. Theyre owned by communications companies.

Try local corporation commision. If they are a franchise in your area they have juristiction over Cox.

Do not do business with Cox Communications!

Do not do business with Cox Communication. Three trips to get the installation done for starters. Two times raising the rates without notice. Then when we had to move, they refused to send someone out to pick up the cable hardware. When the hardware was picked up by a service technician, it was apparently never checked in and I was told that We had to pay for the equipment. When I refused they posted a derogatory remark on my credit report. I have filed a dispute and am still waiting for resolution; but the best solution for the consumer would be for them to go out of business.

What could possibly have prevented you from returning the equipment to the company, whose name sounds like how they act ... ?

You must learn to CYA and should have a nifty little receipt relieving you of obligation. You're probably not going to win this one and shouldn't have let it become a problem.

Cox Communications - Cox - No corporate conscience!

Subscribed to Cox in December.Installer took 8 hours, had no idea of how to do his job and also left a mess, wires everywhere, had to get someone to fix his mess. Was told would bury cable within 2 weeks. One month passed so we decided to call them to see when. Told 2/7/17. Stayed home all day waiting for call/appearance. No one called or showed up. Called Cox to inquire where their people were. Now said they would bury cable 2/13. Did not dispute 2/7 original date and not sure why no one notified us of this change. Spoke with supervisor who just apologized like he was reading from a script. It is now 2/14 and we heard nothing again. Will file complaint with state and federal oversight agencies over how they conduct business. We must have more competition so they at least try to improve!

same problem. cable has been above ground 27 months and it is not my service.

called Atlanta. Absolutely useless. today is 2/13/2017.

FCC is too political. they are in bed with providers.

It's a constant problem with cox, where they guarantee, over the phone, there will be no installation change. They also guarantee over the phone there will be no charge, if a technician has to come to your home to fix the problem they caused to begin with. Then ,here comes you're bill. You're charged hundreds of dollars, for something that was free. Now! People in their right mind, of course won't pay it. But how about elderly people, that may have memory problems, they just write a check. These actions by cox, is against the law, it's called grand theft. The people of Rhode Island are used to this, credit going to our politicians, of course, but I think it's high time we put a stop to this. We have to unite and bring these activities to the attention of the attorney general. So I ask everyone, who has cox to record your conversation any time you talk to cox,I do, and I have a lot of incriminating evidence against them. Let's finally put a stop, to the criminal activity in Rhode Island, one criminal organization at a time.

Called twice to find out if I needed a mini box. Both times I was told yes. I am handicap and called them to have someone come out and install it for me. Got my bill today and was charged 50 bucks for installation. I contacted company and told them that I didn't need one after tech came out. He took the mini box with him. I shouldn't be charged, especially since I was told twice that I needed it & being handicap. I pay enough for their service. My condo's are now re-wiring for other companies. Trust me I'm going with someone else. They know they have you cause if you call for a decrease, they put you on hold & see they are the only cable co.

Also new boxes I got (I was told later that there is a wiring problem to my building), Explorer 8240 = 2 are making noises. Called and they said that it was dust getting into the boxes.

I could switch them out but I'm handicap. A tech could come out but I'd be charged...I'M HANDICAPPED!!!!!!

Cox Communications - I need my internet!

On March 5, my internet was supposed to be installed. The technician said he had to put in a work order, to get it resolved.March 7, I called to find out the status. I was told it woul be resolved within 72 hours. Meanwhile, a survay came in my email. I filled out the survey, and stated that I still had no service. That night, someone called me to apologize, and said she would look into it. March 10, no resolution. But they sent me a bill with no delay. March 11, I called back, and got a service appointment scheduled for March 12, between 10 and noon. A tech showed up at 2, and said the same thing as the previous tech has said. He had to put in a work order to have it fixed. March 14, I called, and was told they have no way of knowing when a tech can come out.

Cox Communications - Self Install Fee

I just signed up in store and was told that because my unit had service very recently, a tech would not need to come out and do anything, and my self install would not cost anything. I was charged a self install fee and when I spoke to CS to complain, they just said a tech came out and that is why they charged me. CSR did not seem to care that the salesman told me that there would be no self install fee.

I moved to rhode island from mass and i needed service for my business . its now 14 days latter and still no service thay tell me the voice var. Line is down and had me do it 5 different times everytime i ask to speak to a supervisor i get disconnected i think thete reps suck. Very disrespectful. Dont no there *** from there elbow . i will say if u have a choice in your state with another service privider go with a nother company stay away from cox..

Customer service is the worst I have ever had to deal with, which is saying alot seeing as I have been a Bank of America and AT&T customer for many years. The customer service agents we sometimes rude, uncaring and the supervisors were no better. There have been 3 times where COX had come out to my location, and they havent done a single thing to hook up my service like I was told, and I have already been waiting 2 weeks. Then I was told to wait another 2 weeks for a 4th person to come out, but they wont give me any date, or even an estimated date. I ask several times a day and I get nothing. I am a first time customer and I still get treated so poorly, and no one seems to care one bit and it fristrates me so much.

Do NOT get the Contour 2 box from Cox. We got it last week and have had nothing but problems ever since! We are in the San Diego area and only switched to the Contour 2 set up because they pressured us and sold us on how "awesome" this new set up would be. Every night since we got it, it will freeze up and the remote won't connect at all. My husband has been on the phone with Cox literally 7 nights in a row and they have come to switch the box and adjust signals several times. We finally gave up and demanded an installation refund and get the old boxes back. Why the heck is Cox even selling this to customers if they know it's still new and has problems. The service guy yesterday told us it was just released here last week!!! We are not test monkeys!!! So irritating!

You guys set an appointment with me to install service I rearranged my entire day for the technician and then you guys rescheduled it on me without notice so I sat at home looking dumb took a day off for you guys. then you played me and tried to blame it on me!!!! Absolutely ridiculous!!!!!!!!!!!@@@@@!!!!!!!! So unprofessional and Rude thank you for not coming and setting up service. you guys showed how much you value your customers before I became one horrible customer service!!!! I am so mad ugh
