Cox Communications - Failure to complete required promise for rewards.card

In November 2019 I signed up for cox internet service and at that time.I was promised a $100.00 Visa rewards card by the salesperson. After numerous calls and excuses given today 3-27-2020 I received a visa card for the grand sum of 1cent. Can you believe it, one penny, when I was promised $100.00. I called cox today and after talking to no less than five people that could not address the issue, I was transferred to an automated service that requested my received visa card number and after allowing me to enter only 4 of the 16 numbers, it advised me they could not help me and ended the call. After no help at all with numerous calls made and time wasted, I've given up trying to get these crooked, money grabbing low lifes, that do everything in their ability to avoid complying with their sales promises. I will keep the visa card and show it to anyone I can explaining how cox failed me and ASAP I will take my business elsewhere because of cox business practices and very lousy customer relations. I guarantee I will get $100.00 worth of satisfaction in promoting negative advertisement against cox.

Cox Communications - Priced doubled

I had switched from att to cox because they were offering a lower monthly rate plus higher speed internet. I was hospitalized and missed a payment . By the time I got back to them they had disconnected service and were telling me I had to pay a $400 deposit plus I was being charged an early termination fee of $190. Since they have terminated the service after two weeks they told me I would no longer be eligible for the original comtract. After telling them I had been hospitalized due to an accident and several surgeries they told me that they would credit the $190 early termination fees but could not give me my original contract because it was no longer available . My monthly bill went from $149 to $302 . Upon reviewing my bill it showed no credit for the $190. To ad insult to injury, i never received the $200 gift card for signing up.

People don’t understand how call centers work. We all don’t work under the same roof.

You might call someone in Texas the call back to Colorado. They can’t just pull up calls like that.

IT SHOULD BE ILLEGAL FOR LAND BASED INTERNET COMPANIES TO HAVE DATA LIMITS. For the longest time Cox has had a meter that allows you to watch your usage but never charged you for going over their stupid limit but now they have finally imposed a fee for going over. There is no point to this *** 1TB of data for your highest tier of internet package is A *** JOKE. 1.5TB is the average amount of data. People need to stand up and get involved with their government to stop this garbage. REGULATE THIS *** Government needs to do it's job and protect the rights of its people. The internet has grown so much that is becoming a necessity for life similar to electric and prices of internet should be regulated as such.

I know exactly what you mean. I was under the cap for months, watching to ensure my average usage per month prior to the cap.

Then when cap took affect, suddenly my usage went over almost 50 percent and was charged an additional $80 with no prior notice. When I called about this, they couldn't tell me why their notification system is suddenly not working any longer and that I probably had data leakage due to old wiring, that they could fix at a cost to me.

COX communications keeps increasing the basic price for internet, now they added data caps and cheat customers even more for the usage above the CAP. At the same time the data plans don't allow to save the unused data for the following month. Their comparison of the Oreos to FCC is a joke, if I don't eat the Oreos one month I save them in my stash, I don't throw them away. I should be able to save the unused GB for the following months. Cox Communications - Fraudulant Business Practices, charging over $600 in disconnect fees

I have had service with Cox for 2 1/2 years. Pay 107 a month for the highest speed internet, which has never been of a high speed. I called to cancel and they are trying to state I am in a 3 year contract. I hung up mad. The next day I submitted an online ticket to cancel. After 4 tickets they finally called and said we see you called yesterday, I said yes but they tried to say I was in a 3 year contract so I got mad and hung up. He said I do not see a contract on your account. I said great then had him credit some bogus charges (3 $55 reconnect fees on the same day and two $10 payment charges) then he transferred me to the retention department. That guy then tells me there is a 3 year contract. He said he would send it to me by email along with disconnect form. I get the contract, account number is different and no signature. How can you claim someone who has never read this 3 year contract nor signed it is in a 3 year contract. I would have never agreed to 3 years with early penalty of 100% of monthly commitment for extent of the contract. I am going to have to take this to court. They are now saying I owe over $600! I had a 0 balance and was a customer for 2 1/2 years and this is how they treat me. They will put this on my credit report making others think I am a bad payer, when in reality Cox has fraudulent business practices. This contract is not valid!

I am so tired and frustrated about increasing prices. I am on a fixed monthly income and the prices for services keeps going up. I have several neighbors that have cancelled their service because of this. I have had cable less than a year and have received two increases. I also have internet services through them as well. It is so irritating that prices consistently go up and my income stays the same. We are all fed up with it. You should offer an exception for seniors and disabled. Because we want the service but can't afford it especially if it keeps going up. Why don't you take us under consideration.

Cox Communications - Equipment not recieved by COX two years later sent to collection for $150

Cox sent a replacement modem that I did not request. I mailed it in their envelope. Used the new modem and then sold our house. When I returned the new modem and all the boxes with every power cord and remote I was told that the old modem was showing owed. I said I mailed it in the envelop tCOX provided and that Cox must have lost it. if I was going to not return a modem don't you think I would keep the new one? The new house we used cox and have over 14 boxes and modem. Not once did someone call to say that COX decided the lost modem was not their fault but I recieved a collection notice for $150 seriously been on the phone for 15 min and no one cares that I spend $450 per month on service they are willing to have me leave as a customer over a ancient modem that woudn't even cost $25 now

They flat out lie! Make up an internet plan and quote me the price which does not exist! Didn't change anything on my account but said it was all good to go. Got my bill and it is exactly the same with the same service that I was already getting. Who the heck runs this place? So the hour that I was on the phone with the *** was useless! And it was not the first time! Have always had problems with them charging me for service calls when it is their fault.. numerous times! The cable never runs good!! Why cant we get a cable internet service like Time Warner here in Omaha!!??!!! Cox flat out just sucks!

Cox Communications - Cox basic internet service

The Ad for basic internet service is $19.00 a month. But they will force you to have a land line telephone service which mostly does not work and useless for another $19.00 a month. With some junk fees added up you will end up paying about $60.00 a month for what the ad says is $19.00. After so many headache and frustration and long hours argument on the phone, every month, with predator salesmen I decided to terminate Cox cable. No matter what they said to resolve your bill, the next month bill will show the same problem. Not to mention salesmen kept pushing you to have TV service which I don't need and have time to watch 120 channels. May be just need 4 basic News channels to be obliged but not 120. Lost my deposit money on termination. But I feel so relaxed and content after got rid of Cox. Cox is cancerous in another word.

Instead of owning the problems, cox does put one over on inexperienced customers. This is very bad faith and should make the more conscientous within the company reach out. Instead the policy is to push a more expensive plan. This is a problem that wont go away without a lawsuit. Its policy used to make money, when the known problem is with the service being provided. Very disingenuous and morally reprehensible, like the actions of a bully or the mentality of a theif.

I took Cox service in 2012 with rental modem. I was been charged 6.99 every month for the same as per plan. In July 2013, I then purchased a modem from third party who was also using cox. I was unable to use that modem on my account as that modem was register to that sellers account. I then had a conference call with Cox (Me, Cox and the seller) who then transferred the ownership of the modem to me by sharing the serial number, MAC, etc and then cox modified the configurations on their side so that i was then able to use the modem. I was enjoying my internet service with no billing issue (as it was my own modem, i was no more charged for rental charges of $6.99 every month). Now, in April 2015, i relocated to Columbus where they do not have their service and hence I had to disconnect service with them. Since then they are now following up with me saying that it is their modem and i have to pay them or return the modem. 1) if it was their modem then why was i not been charged monthly rental for last 2 yrs,since July 2013 ? 2) If the seller cheated on me, then why did they didn't shared / allowed the transfer of modem over the conference call in July 2013? 3) why are they now realizing after 2 yrs that it is their modem, which is totally wrong.... It is clear that they want to harass me and try to get some money from me as I am no more their existing customer. Friends, they have forwarded this to recovering agent and I really need guidance from you all to come out of it cleanly and also COX should know that this isnt the ethical way of doing business. Please suggest / help .

It seems unlikely that you're being charged for the modem you purchased from someone else & requested added to your account later. You initially stated, you were renting a modem from us when the account was first opened.
