Pay way too much to have an internet outage 6 times a month and customer service just says “I’m so srry we can update you when it gets fixed and we appreciate your loyalty to cox” NO *** I JUST HAVE NO OTHER CHOICE my apartments don’t allow any other internet service here besides century link and we all know how much better they are. *** stay as far away as you can from Cox internet and go with Comcast if available in your area!

Cox Communications - Poor customer service

We lost land line phone and internet service on Friday the 21st and the earliest a tech can come to our home is Sunday the 23rd after 5 pm. Have been without service during a time when we are trying to handle business transactions in other states. This is by far the worst service I’ve had in regards to anything I’ve been associated with. Would never recommend cox to friends or family.

Cox Communications - Slow Internet Speeds - Poor Customer Service

I'm getting internet speeds at 10% of what I'm paying for. Have called customer service 4 times in 4 days. They've sent 4 technicians in 4 days. The first tech said it was fixed. 20 minutes after he left the speed returned to what it was. I called him back. He would not return. The next day two techs came and after learning there had been another tech the day before they refused to do anything. They said they called the first tech and that he should return. He never did. The next day another tech came out who walked around the house and talked for an hour. He kept giving options of what it could be, but never did anything. I finally had to throw him out of my house. The technicians are total idiots who do more talking than working. Now they say they are going to "escalate" it, which they say means I have to wait another 2 days before anything is done. They continue to define poor customer service.

Cox Communications - Just about the worst customer service

I won't go into too much detail here, there isn't enough space to record every detail of my encounters. Basically I have talked to Cox support for bad Internet 4 times over the past few weeks. I vowed I would not take any time off from work so scheduled a tech for 5-7PM. I ended up having to reschedule to 3-5PM for the same day because I had a meeting in the evening. So I ended up taking time off of work anyway. Tech never showed. I have carrier time out errors on my modem. One rep I talked to said modems only last 2 yrs and they are outdated. (a previous rep had told me my modem was barely 2 yrs old and should be fine). So I replaced my modem. Next day guess what? That's right, more disconnects and more errors. Next I talked to a supervisor, he told me modems don't just quit working after 2 years, and also they (Cox) can update the modem, so it shouldn't be out of date. He also told me he wasn't receiving a signal from my modem, even though I was on the Internet at that moment. He ended up telling me the problem could very well be on their end and was going to send out a tech, even though I already had one scheduled. Well I never heard from any techs, and today I waited 2 hours and no one ever showed up. Again there is more unbelievable detail to this story, but the bottom line....Cox customer service is really poor. And I am still stuck with sucky Internet.

Sure sounds like someone is hacking into your wireless router. Do a web search with a query such as: stop someone hacking into router and do some research.

This is a relatively common problem in area where many people have computers in a neighborhood, apartment, etc. You need to take a good look at the router you have as far as security and capabilities and then look for methods on how to make your wireless totally secure. Someone close to your router is taking advantage of your wireless connection. And, no Cox nor anyone else can or will help you with this.

You need to secure your home wireless connection. Note: I am assuming no one who has access to your computer or another one on your network within your home is actually using this excess data and not telling you they are doing so---in which case you have a familial problem.

My internet and dvr always go down. I'm constantly resetting them to get them to work. At times I have to wait it out more then 2 hours. But you are charging me 309.00 for some reason!! For service that never works right.

Cox Communications - NEVER use cox services

Cox cable is garbage. First off the internet is as slow as molasses. They are very expensive for basic services. They sign you up randomly for networks that you did not subscribe to. They offer you to save your credit card/bank card information online for "easy" payment (which I do for other accounts like Verizon wireless and other bills without ANY problem of them automatically taking a payment from my account) for next time you make an online payment. INSTEAD they automatically take your payment out of your account. This is NOT OK. They refuse to give a refund stating that someone logged into the online account and enrolled in automatic payments. WE DID NOT DO THIS.

Cox Communications - Service outage .....for days!!!

Our cable started cutting in an out on 6-29-2018... finally cutout completely Sunday afternoon July 1st .....it is July 5th still no service. We call every day...the first day they hinted that it was good possiblility that our modem was out......they provided us with the modem when we signed up 4 years ago and told us any problem with the modem is our problem. Went out and bought a new modem....still no service...kept calling and it seems to be a different story every time we call.. they told my neighbor the same story with regards to the modem, they purchased a new modem...no service...unbelievable...calling the better business bureau tomorrow and governor Raimondo's office....I have had cable for 40 years in several states.....this is my first experience with cox.........terrible experience.....

Cox customer service has dwindled steadily over the past 20 years and so has quality tv programs. They do offer the fastest internet, but fortunately they are not the only game in town. I refuse to be saddled with higher internet costs, simply because people are dropping fake news cable. Cox can eat a big fat Cox.
