Cox Communications in Flagstaff, Arizona - Returned cable modem 1.5 years ago and now saying i didn't and want $100

We use to own a business and had a cable modem with a phone line with it. After the business was gone we returned it. I remember it was sometime in August/September of 2011. From then we bought our own modem and they configured it for us. Now Febuary 2013 we left cox cause we moved up north where it isn't available. Paid everything off and the customer service guy said we were good. Days later got a call from someone at cox saying we needed to return the modem we had or pay $100. We told them we returned it over a year ago. Didn't matter. We told them we hadn't even been paying for that cable modem anymore as they charge like a monthly fee. Why wouldn't we still been paying that? They told us some lame excuse about they didn't do it back then so we weren't paying. Really didn't make sense. Anyways finally they get a ticket to track the modem but never called me back and now get harrassed by them all the time and they don't know about that ticket they supposedly are tracking the modem with. I'm not going to pay them 100 and rip me off.

Cox Communications in Laguna Niguel, California - NEVER HAVE SERVICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would like to know who it is that is giving out these "AWARDS" for excellent service. My phone/ internet/ and especially cable are out more than on. Then you get to talk to 5 *** and waste an hour for them to tell you that you have to make yet another appointment. An appointment which you work around their schedule and waste another 2+ hours and then in a week the same problem. You give extensive details over and over but yet when you call in you get the same, "sorry there are NO notes on your account". It is all just a big joke. For the prices they charge they need to care! If I had this many problems getting my check to them, I guarantee you they would be calling me quick.

Cox Communications in Phoenix, Arizona - Hold time for more than 18 minutes! Where's a Manager?

Nothing but problems for many reasons! Customer don't mean anything to this company. Hearing the voice of the customer is non-existent. We are $58 past due and we asked for a 1 day extension, and they will not honor it. So they are going to charge us an additional $20 to reactivate our service. Another situation, we have our alarm system through cox, and the city is charging us for a false alarm, however there was no false alarm, so we were asking cox to provide proof, but they can't even keep their word- They told us a manager would call us back within 48 hours, and we never received any phone calls, so we called a again and we were given the same promise...and to our surprise, still no phone call within 48 hours, not even within 1 week! And every time we ask for a manager, they say they can't transfer. One rep hung up on us because we demanded a manager. Without they're support, we will be charged $96 for the false alarm, and $20 to reactivate our service. I'm going to the media!

In one month my bill for cable/internet ballooned from $98.10 to $220.96, simply because I moved apartments. Cox Communication added an additional $34.99 to my bill for services I neither asked for or wanted. In addition, these crooks charged me $10.00 EACH for...

Obviously, this fella ^^^ didn't read the entire post - specifically on how they double charged me for the same service by just calling it something different. The tech couldn't tell me the difference between the charges or how they differed and I definitely don't expect something for nothing.

This Sean fellow probably works for Cox, which would explain his snarky disposition. Nice try, but I aint' buyin' it.

Cox Communications in Las Vegas, Nevada - The firm has failed in every way one could fail

What more can I say except they just make stuff up, call for new service and phone is answered first ring, call for repair service issue and it will place you on hold for up to a hour, comericials are just words with no action and frankly the worst large corporation I have ever delt with. Moving on and buying rabbit ears, done with this company for life. When a firm touts there experience and ignors their own words they become just that,Words without meaning,I will show my displeasure by not using their service and will share with as many as I can my experience, all this is my opinion only.

Cox Communications in Gilbert, Arizona - Agents seem to lack access to required account information

Bill in sales is great. He is the only reason I returned after a year to give the company a second chance. I even told that to Bill. And his supervisor too. In general, I have not had success getting information or adequate service from agents who answer the phone. After I received the return call that Bill promised to make, we established a new account and said goodbye. A little later I realized that it was necessary to get an answer to an account related question. One that anyone should have been able to answer. I phoned the company and gave the agent the password they required to access the account. They said it was the wrong password, so I repeated it. Still 'wrong'. Okay fine. We used the alternate confirmation which worked just fine. The agent then accessed my account. It was the old account that I closed long ago. That's ok. Transfer me to Bill, he will get the information for me. Transfer to sales went ok, but the individual who answered could not transfer the call to Bill or any other individual. Finally, after about an hour had elapsed I was able to contact an agent who sent Bill an email so he could call me. Bill called after the expected amount of time. He is very nice and helpful, and I felt awkward having to tell him that I was canceling my order for the reasons that I told him I was wary of starting a new account with them. It wasn't his fault, but the other people involved in the communications with customers cost him his commission. I suggest a new company name for internal use: "COX NON-COMMUNICATIONS"

Cox Communications in Studio City, California - Terrible service! Don't get The all in one package. When it goes down you are sol for at least 3 day

There service is terrible! Don't get the cable,Internet and phone package! because when it goes down you don't have any of them for at least 3 days before they will schedule an appointment to fix it. It is quit paralizing when it happens. When you ask to talk to a supervisor they just transfer you to another agent that tells you the same lame excuses. What they need to do is hire more people to just take care of emergencies. There are plenty of them, This is the third time it's happened to me in three months.

BUYER BEWARE Cox Communications

I called cox communications in Phoenix to ask about some up grades I was interested in. Had a good service rep and at the end decided the cost was to high and ended the conversation. A week later cox called me and offered me what I wanted and a significantly different price than what I had been quoted before. I signed up, got the service and when I got my next bill, it was over $40 dollar MORE than what I had been told. After more than 45 minutes of a phone conversation, NOTHING had changed but I got many many "I'm sorry" responses from the service agent. I carefully explained everything that the agent that had called me offered and the prices etc. They were unable to find any written record of the offers made. The long and the short of it, DON'T agree to anything until you have it in writing. Even if you have to go into an office to do it. Don't do it over the phone. I have been with Cox for almost 20 years. What a sad way to treat their customers.

Thanks CoxTech1 for the offer, but I think at this time, I am totally shut down and unable to listen to any further justifications to explain away the deception. After speaking with 3 different people at Cox to try to rectify this and hearing over and over "we are sorry" for the misunderstanding etc and the outcome still being basically the same thing, I think it is best to just leave things the way they are and save myself the possible embarrassment of saying something in a heated moment that would not be polite and directed at the wrong person anyway. The fault is NOT with the Tech department, nor probably with a customer service rep, but rather with, in my mind at least, a bait and switch tactic.

Again, thank you though for your effort to be of help.

Cox Communications = worst service ever

Cox Communications provides the worst service I have ever encountered. Their home phone service barely works and costs a fortune. Their "new, upgraded" voice mail service literally does not work. I spoke with a representative and they informed me that it was fact, voice mail will not record any messages and they are unaware of a solution to date. Yet, I am still charged for services that do not work and which I did not want in the first place. The charge for service is outrageous and the company is inflexible. They do not care if you are satisfied as long as they are being paid.

Cox is a joke when it comes to service. I have been with them for 10 years and all of a sudden I'm being changed hundreds to call New Zealand, my home country. I call the wonderful people at cox, who transfer me to accounting(6 MINUTE WAIT), then transfer me to Tech support (10 minute wait), then finally transfer me to phone service (8 minute wait)...now by this time I'm a little on edge and trying to be nice to the lady who does not have a good grasp of the English language...and she says, looks like I made a change to my account? Now I explained to her I have had the same international service for years...LONG STORY SHORT, they are not helping me with the past changes, just adding the international fee back to the account....

Oh the joy of being "shafted by Cox"!!! AGAIN!!!!

moving to new service in the summer!!

Any ideas out there? need a bundle TV, PHONE, INTERNET.

Thanks for listening. :(

DearCoxTech 1:

My wife and I moved into our new home on Friday, May 13, and contacted our long distance carrier, TELNA, in Henderson, Nevada on Monday or Tuesday, May 16 or 17. TELNA asked that we wait 48-hours before using TELNA long distance service. We started using TELNA as our long distance carrier on May 19.

We received a bill from Cox Communications dated June 11 for $1,523.72, mostly for long distance calls at $3.50 per minute to Ukraine and Russia where my wife has relatives and friends. I contacted Cox technical support who said they received no request from TELNA and show no listing for TELNA in their references. They asked that I call TELNA and get the PIC and LPIC numbers for their use. I did so and furnished the PIC and LPIC numbers to technical support.

Cox insist I owe them for the long distance calls at $3.50 per minute although TELNA is a registered long distance carrier associated with Global Crossing. I'm now connected through TELNA but must pay hundreds of dollars to Cox for an apparent Cox oversight in maintaining their reference records. Can you help and reply?
