After having Cox Cable service for 9 months, approximately, here is The list of reasons why we're not happy with their service: they have spent 9months giving us the run-around about the gift card reward they promised but have refused to keep their promise. Also, the wifi router needs rebooting too frequently; and the cable box needs rebooting. Try to call their customer service dept and they cut off your call....so you have to call again and try to get through again. Nothing but frustration and quirky equipment, and broken promises and the run-around. Also, just calling their customer service call center is an ordeal....go through 5 or more different menus, then they put you in a wait/hold ***, then they cut off the phone call before you ever speak to a service rep.

Cox Communications in Wichita, Kansas - 2 days wait for technical support (Internet, cable & phone all down)!!!

Fri - power outage 7am - 2am (21hrs). Sat - power came back. Cox service down (no internet, TV nor phone)! Sat 8am - start calling Cox (called 7X before getting through and wait 29 min to speak to someone). Was told the earliest appt is Mon! Two days wait for service - unbelievable! Asked to escalate this problem and for a Manager to call me back to explain why I have to wait for 2 days to get Cox service back (no one call back). Explained I work from home and can't have down time. Sat 9 am - someone from escalation called to say 1pm appt available. I managed "yes, i appreciate it" before phone dropped (remember, no Cox, lousy cell service). Tried calling back desperately to get confirmation they can come. Managed to speak to someone twice and explained situation after another 7-8 attempts. Phone dropped on both occasion and no one bother to call back even though they have full info and description of problem. Managed to speak to someone on last attempt (after waiting 45 minutes). To be told this - the 1pm spot is not log and i have to wait till Mon!! Mon 9:15am - received a call from Cox that they will be here in 10 min. One hour later, call back Technician after "no show". Only to be told "the office reroute them"! What?? I waited and was told office reroute them with no words from them? And after waiting two days? Call dropped and call back twice. It just goes to voicemail conveniently.. Mon 10:15am - call Cox office to complain "reroute" issue. Call drop at the end of it and no one call back! Notice wifi connected shortly.. Mon 11:45pm - Cox Tech show up (~2.5hrs after agreed time). Thanks but no thanks. He confirmed he reset it after i called him. ~30 houses here affected with no Cox service after power outage. Problem resolved with easy reset, yet we wait 2 agonizing days and many frustrating calls. Should Cox have automatically reset with power outage?Should Cox have the courtesy to call me back on delays or complains?Should I pay for the days I am not getting service?

Cox Communications in Williamsburg, Virginia - Cox, mini boxes that don't work, paying for channels not receiving, customer service beyond pathetic

Got the mini boxes today. Neither works. Two calls to technical support, they appear to be reading from a script (has a tree fallen in your area?), absolutely useless. One tech said there are problems in your area, the next tech says there are not problems in our area. We get some channels but a huge number of the channels we are paying for we do not get. It's round and round with customer service. The second tech said our earlier work order had been "fulfilled" (i.e. Completed). What?! I spoke with a manager who sounded like he had no idea and certainly no interest in helping resolve the issues. Said we would need to possibly pay for the tech to come out to the house (we are already losing money by paying for unfulfilled service and lost time spent picking up boxes, trying to get them to work, being on phone with absolutely useless customer "service" and now for a tech to come. Truly pathetic, we've been customers for years and years. Will be calling to switch companies first thing in the morning. Does anyone out there get the channels they pay for on the mini boxes? If not, is there discussion of a class action lawsuit? Why are we paying for channels not received?

Yikes, was in the process of changing from Verizon but after reading these reviews, I guess not. Verizon broadband has worked perfectly for over 9 years.

The last 6 months have been a nightmare. The signal drops frequently, sometimes for several minutes, sometime for an hour+. Twice I have been on the phone for over an hr. when the signal did not return.

The people were nice but were difficult to understand & kept sending me to a new person.

In the end they said it was their problem. Where can one get good internet service?

Cox Communications in Goleta, California - EXTREME INCOMPTENCE

Cox cable does not have technical support. They do not wish to do so. You think you are talking to customer support but in fact you are talking to representative who can barely understand what is your problem and still manage to waste your time. Then they do refer you, wait on the line for nearly an hour to find out you are talking to a third party company that will bill you. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. I pay over $250/mth and I need to pay more when I have an issue with the email. Also their email server was down and/or working inconsistently for nearly 2 months but I continued to pay my monthly bill for full service

Cox Communications in Lafayette, Louisiana - Terrible Internet Service & Service Techs

I have been a customer of Cox Communications for the past 5+ years while living with my parents, granted I'm only 20 years old. I have never had any real issues with them in the past until i moved out and had to get my own services. This has been the worse service I could have ever imagined. Over the past 2-3 months I have had about 5 technicians out to my location who have all fixed little minor issues here and could not explain why im having issues; 3 of the 5 of them have been late on appointment times. I have also spent more than 10+ hours on the phone with Cox technical support members who have escalated my issues multiple times. I have had to miss countless hours from work so these technicians could come *** around at my house and tell me the same old *** each time.I have had to switch modems 3 times and still to this day I cannot get a steady internet connection. My internet disconnects multiple times a day and often stays off for hours upon hours at a time. If im paying for internet, i want my *** internet. The only thing cox has been good for is for occasionally discounting my services. But whats the point? I STILL DONT HAVE INTERNET AT HOME. I'll pay what my monthly services cost, just fix the *** problem, right?

I would like to say Cox business is the worst support I have ever used in my professional career. I need a tech out. I wanted to check the RF. They told me a tech would be out tomorrow 8-10 in the morning. Next day no tech. I call support mind you our Cox bill for business is about 900$. I call in and they proceed to tell me there is an outage in the area so no tech could come out. (Rick The Supervisor) from national data center. Cost them a customer soon as someone else shows up.

Cox Communications in Gainesville, Florida - Cox has routinely messed up billing, overcharged, fees for phantom equipment

So not only did Cox Cable repeatedly overcharge me for services and screw up billing while I had both TV and Internet, causing me to spend dozens of hours on the phone fixing their mistakes. Not only did they screw up cancelling my tv and keeping my internet by cancelling both. I was told when I called technical support that my internet was working and I didn't know what I was doing. They sent someone out on a Monday and I was told that they had mistakenly shut off my internet. NOW, I check my bill for what should be just for the internet, and was ASSURED by the billing person that once my tv was shut off that was all I owe, I see a random charge of $259 for equipment charges!!!! What is wrong with Cox Cable? I have never been so disrespected by a company and treated like nothing.

Gypsies, tramps and thieves. If that does not epitiomize cox then nothing does.

You make changes they jack the rate up, they "lock you in for 2 years" your rate stays the same for a few months then your agreement goes outvthe window and price jumps.

I want to get rid of the music stations they say they will jack internet rate up by $40 a month.

Cox Communications in Irvine, California - Cox Modem Challenge

Had a land line that I closed in March 2010. Returned the modem to Cox. Have two witnesses. Now 3.5 years later they are charging me $6.99 for the modem I returned. They state that I can just go find the receipt for the returned modem and they will stop the charges. Now I have to take my time and hope I still have receipt. I am not sure why Cox is doing this, but a few weeks before I was having trouble getting my emails from my laptop to my I phone and a guy who works for a company cox contracts with (all there technical support is a different company by the way) told me if I pay extra they will sink all my calls to my phone better since it was constantly being disrupted. Then I called to check that out (the charges) and found that they were charging 6.99 more but it was for the modem issue not to have better service. Go figure that one out. They said they were doing this audit to 10000's of people
