Cox Communications - Being lied to and having a service contract added after explicitly making it very clear that I did not want that. Totally illegal and unethicle

As usual dealing with cox is not only very time consuming, and painful.I called yesterday for tech support for my tv. As usual, I was passed around. I spoke with a rep from El Paso. We determined that I needed a tech to come out today from 8 to 10. At this point he starting pitching me on the Cox service plan very aggressively. I assured him that I DO NOT WANT A SERVICE Plan, not once but twice. Well, he added it anyway. After I received a text from the tech to say he was on his way followed by a phone call . He said it looks like you have a service plan. I explained the situation and told him I DO NOT WANT a service plan, just my TV fixed. Well, the tech cancelled the appointment. So, no TV, and totally at the mercy of Cox once again. I HATE EVERYTHING ABOUT COX!!!!!!!!!!!!! What happened was not only unethical and consumer fraud, and I sure the BBB and my states Attorney General will be very happy to look in to this and will issue a sizable fine.

I am double billed on my bill. My bank still has a hold on my second unauthorized charge. I called cox last week to make the adjustment on the double charge they stated they were aware of the 2 hold charges on my account and world make the adjust by this weds day. Well, wed Thursday Friday passed. And there was no adjust. I called a representative to release the hold. She put me on hold to investigate and dropped the call. I called back the next day and they tell me I would need to wait 5-7 days for the funds to be released , however they didn't wait that long to process your payment … very poor service . I finding other outlets to complain about this Next day to get the adjustment and get the run around

Scheduled an appointment for between 1-3. The technician was an hour late. They contacted us to alert us to the delay, and then credited the call. Over the last couple of years, they have REALLY improved customer service.

they can't keep the tv and movies going without them stalling then it goes blank and then back again. you would think for 100.00 a month you could get good service. calling them is a joke. after 2 years my cable wire is still sitting on the ground in my back yard.

so i dumped cox for t.v. and got a roku and hulu t.v.,,,,lots more channels....lots of sports....and all while saving lots of money! "cut the cable" is the cry of the next few years....cox...could care less...

I lots of problems I thought with my cable box. I called Cox the guy came out said he did some stuff and left. It was still bad. A young man came today on August 31st 2019 I had recently changed some of the things on my service they had a hard time getting my Netflix hooked up. I finally gave up and didn't do it. This guy called somebody and they did something and he did something and they figured out that the whole thing was a mess on my account they straightened it out my TV Works wonderful cheers for Cox. The new contour boxes are not good, always need rebooting. We exchanged several in the beginning when Cox converted and especially the satellite boxes always need rebooting at the most inopportune times.

Mandatory upgrade to contour is a disaster. It fails to respond 30% of the time. I have had to pull the plug to get the system to turn off. The guide is dark and not legible. This stuff is too unreliable to be forced on your customers. Give me my old equipment back.

Cox will put you on telephone death hold when you try to lower your bill by removing services. They constantly raise their rates without regard to the customer's best interests. If they had any real competition, they would be out of business quickly. Cox business practices are despicable. Cox is the greediest business I have ever had the misfortune of encountering. My latest debacle with Cox was today, 3/25/19, when after putting me on death hold, the "customer service" rip off representative came back to the phone to inform me that my bill had increased by $25/month after I dropped ESPNU from my subscription with Cox.

Cox Communications - Contour Box

I really have a hard time reading the Black Back ground color and wish you would return to the old color scheme. I also do not like that if I want to change channels it does not automatically change but goes to a screen where I have to push another button to get that channel. I also miss the square button where I could stop what ever I had recorded and then choose to delete or save. I do like all the other features of the box. Now I just have to type something because I got the message that there is a minimum of 100 words, which seems crazy when some problems are obviously described in less than the required 100 words.
