Cox Communications Tv Service Review

Rarely had problems with cox communications until change over to HD with their required converter box. Since then there have been too many problems with viewing t.v. programs. Just as bad or worse as other satellite companies. Just about ready to become a hermit. Truly disappointing and aggravating.

Terrible service, I would never recommend cox to anyone I know. Tv constantly froze, contour worked maybe 10% of the time if that, and the customer service they have is a joke. If I know anyone that is preparing to invest in cox I will do everything in my power to turn them away.

Same problem with my garbage mini boxes. Plug them in and even call Cox to activate them and nothing! You get 3 to 4 channels. Go back to regular cable plug in and everything ...

Companies like (COX M) is what causes the Liberals to step in and decide on how you should treat customers. I am trying to reduce my bill since I am now retired and on a fixed income. There is no way that anyone should be paying for channels you don't watch, like 95% of what's in your package. I don't watch sports or speak Spanish and to add insult to injury, the important channels I need is in a package with a higher price... And now I have to purchase extra boxes since you decided that the only way I can watch regular and local channels is to purchase this new digital mini box. Called in yesterday to get a price for adding TV service. I told the guy i just wanted a quote. The price was too high so i told him we would wait because i needed to chat with the wife. Well to my suprise, the next day he processed the order without my consent. I got an email confirmation and called; the rep advised that the previous rep had actually placed the order at the end of his shift. Awesome integrity Cox; what was done is illegal.

Reception frequently unreliable since switching to Contour. Had to reset box frequently, turned in and exchanged several boxes, channels missing frequently, frequent phone calls to customer service lasting half an hour or longer going through various maneuvers to try to reset and restore service. HORRIBLE business operations and customer service. Phone agents are very polite and patient and make every effort to be helpful but scheduling of service calls and follow-through is atrocious. We were left without any service whatsoever for several days without explanation or response from Cox. When they finally scheduled an appointment they came at a different time which we could not accommodate then told us they could not come back that day not even during the pre appointed time. RIDICULOUS!! Response to escalated problems is POOR, POOR, POOR!!!!!!!!

Cox Communications - Totally Digital signal scheme

Is it too late for Cox to reconsider transition to “totally digital” signals? Cox cable has just lost what I believe is their last advantage over the satellite companies. By scrambling all the signals and requiring at a minimum a minibox on each TV they have taken away the cable ready feature of TV sets. Satellite companies provide set top boxes for up to four rooms at no extra charge whereas Cox charges $3 or $9 for each box depending on how much of your package you want on each set. The $3 minibox only passes the Starter package channels no matter what extra packages or features the customer is paying for. I waited two years for Cox to run cable into my new subdivision only to face “totally digital” signal transmission a few months after subscribing. I must now seriously consider switching to one of the satellite companies which have the added feature of providing more channels for less cost. The dish is an ugly contraption but we must be practical.
