We've been renting a modem from Cox for 15 years not realizing that we didn't have to rent their modem. We paid around $1,400 over the course of 15 years for this service and realized that several times when we have problems with the modem, they weren't willing to replace it.
They all but said the modem was bad because we had to keep restarting it.
What is the point of having a rental agreement on a modem yet not having the benefit of protection when that modem fails? I guess shame on us for being naive however they quit complaint to the Arkansas State Attorney General's office should address this issue promptly.
I'm guessing others have experienced this and a class action lawsuit would then be in order.
