I made the huge mistake of switching to Cox telephone service a couple of years ago. At $9.95 a month with 6 months free it was a good deal compared to my $30 a month Verizon bill...

I hardly use the land line anymore so it seemed OK... So a few months ago I notice my Cox bill has ballooned to over $200 a month for cable TV, Internet and phone... not suspecting the phone portion since it was only supposed to be $9.95 a month, I disconnected all my movie channels, took out some HDTV and got the bill down... never once did the rep suggest we look at the phone service which I mentioned numerous times was only $9.95 a month...

so today I went in to pay my bill and started looking at the charges to discover they had tacked on additional services to the phone bringing it up to over $45 a month!!! I asked for it to be disconnected immediately and requested a refund for the difference between the $45 a month and the $9.95 I had been sold... the rep told me no problem and I left... later on I am at home and now my TV does not work...

I get a call from a "supervisor" telling me I have to pay $114 for the phone service or they will shut off my TV and my internet service with them... I told her to go ahead...

NEVER buy anything from these criminals. They constantly change prices and use bait and switch, you can't ever be sure what your bill will be.
