Terrible signal and on demand is the worst ever. Lots of freezes and jerky picture. Always when its the big game or season finale. Every time I call they send a signal, sometimes this makes it worse. I had a tech come out and they tried to up sell me to contour. No thanks. When you call they know you are super pissed so they try to ask about your day. I don't want to hear that. Fix my problem or give me my money back. Why do I pay for this? It used too be so good, now it looks like I'm just going to go with just Netflix. Time to cut the cord!

2 days wait for technical support (Internet, cable & phone all down)!!!

Fri - power outage 7am - 2am (21hrs). Sat - power came back. Cox service down (no internet, TV nor phone)! Sat 8am - start calling Cox (called 7X before getting through and wait 29 min to speak to someone). Was told the earliest appt is Mon! Two days wait for service - unbelievable! Asked to escalate this problem and for a Manager to call me back to explain why I have to wait for 2 days to get Cox service back (no one call back). Explained I work from home and can't have down time. Sat 9 am - someone from escalation called to say 1pm appt available. I managed "yes, i appreciate it" before phone dropped (remember, no Cox, lousy cell service). Tried calling back desperately to get confirmation they can come. Managed to speak to someone twice and explained situation after another 7-8 attempts. Phone dropped on both occasion and no one bother to call back even though they have full info and description of problem. Managed to speak to someone on last attempt (after waiting 45 minutes). To be told this - the 1pm spot is not log and i have to wait till Mon!! Mon 9:15am - received a call from Cox that they will be here in 10 min. One hour later, call back Technician after "no show". Only to be told "the office reroute them"! What?? I waited and was told office reroute them with no words from them? And after waiting two days? Call dropped and call back twice. It just goes to voicemail conveniently.. Mon 10:15am - call Cox office to complain "reroute" issue. Call drop at the end of it and no one call back! Notice wifi connected shortly.. Mon 11:45pm - Cox Tech show up (~2.5hrs after agreed time). Thanks but no thanks. He confirmed he reset it after i called him. ~30 houses here affected with no Cox service after power outage. Problem resolved with easy reset, yet we wait 2 agonizing days and many frustrating calls. Should Cox have automatically reset with power outage?Should Cox have the courtesy to call me back on delays or complains?Should I pay for the days I am not getting service?

Self Install Fee

I just signed up in store and was told that because my unit had service very recently, a tech would not need to come out and do anything, and my self install would not cost anything. I was charged a self install fee and when I spoke to CS to complain, they just said a tech came out and that is why they charged me. CSR did not seem to care that the salesman told me that there would be no self install fee.

Can't agree more. Have their new "digital" service.

Have never been able to get all the channels I am paying for. They have been out several times. Yesterday they were out for 2 hours replacing cables. Today I have lost more channels, phone service and internet services.

Their great service can only get someone out tomorrow late. Changing service

Every evening about 11:45 CST Cox internet slows way down, takes forever to log on a site, move around. Completely down last night, no one connected in our area. Called to report and was told by a friendly customer service rep it was a "scheduled maintenance." We were not notified. "Oh, that's one of the things we are working on!" How long? "Probably until 6 or 7am." Wow. Thank goodness my cell is not with Cox. Make sure you can hot spot your phone when you need to finish a report.

I think we're all having the same issues with this *** service that they've sold us. It's just the classic bait and switch and I'm sure they know they did it on purpose after all they're still selling it aren't they, there still have commercials for it on TV talking about how great it is. I wonder how much of this falls under the term "deceptive advertising". I don't know the answer to that but I am going to find out when I call the Consumer Affairs Division of my district attorney's office in Sedgwick County Kansas on Monday September 13th. Not to mention the Better Business Bureau as well as the Wichita area Builders Association so they can warm future homeowners not to purchase this service as we did . We'll see how they like that ***.

Additional Hardware fee

While moving apartments, Cox Communications left a DOCSIS 2.0 phone modem at my house. I do not have phone service, and I personally own a DOCSIS 3.0 modem. When I called customer service and ask if they would like their hardware back, they said I could keep it although I had no intention of using it. That was last month. This month I have an additional fee of $122 on my bill. It is for the DOCSIS 2.0 phone modem that the technician left at my house. When I called COX about this fee, they informed me that there would be a $20 fee for a tech to come pick up the hardware.

We signed for Cox tv, internet and home phone bundle. While signing the contract, we gave our phone number to be ported. It was written in the contract. They told us that it will take up to 5 business day to port. So, we schedule installation after 5 days. When service were installed, we had another local number. We called technical support. They said call us next day. We called again next day. They said that the number to be ported is out of state so it cannot be ported (We have VOIP) We wanted to keep existing number as it is with us for many more years. Customer service rep and even the supervisor said that they will not help us. If we want to cancel the phone service, we will have to pay more money than contract price. Our contract had free HBO written and it was also not given to us. So, we are bound for contract we sign but this big corporation is getting away. Now, I will have to pay other providers to re-install service as I will not continue with COX.

You are very fortunate, but very insensitive and rude, you are one of the few, and how dare you suggest that our problems would have anything to do with NOT paying the bill?? If someone told you your cup of morning coffee cost $1.59, then after handing it to you charges $3.29 instead, please do not tell me or anyone else you would not be bothered by it at all.

In 30 years of receiving AND PAYING for cable service, Cox was the only one who came and installed it, completely canceled it 2 weeks later, gave my phone number away to someone else, (I found that out when the school tried to call me to tell me my son was sick!) I went to a neighbors to call them, 3 reps argued with me for 2 hours that they could not have canceled my service because THEY NEVER INSTALLED IT!

I was actually accused of lying about it by one extremely rude customer service rep. Yup!, they are doing a great job!

3 computers in this house. Paid for internet service tech. Never came to hook up computers or connect internet. Charged me for modum?! Called 7 times each time a customer service rep transfer me to technician wait on hold for 30 mins listen to elevator music just to be hung up on each time! Charge me to hook up services and its not hooked up I still have no service I already paid on the 9th of Nov. And I spoke to a manager and got hung up on again after 30 mins of waiting! Cox is horrible and is definitely not my friend in digital age!!!!!!!!! Charge me for everything and provide anything! This is Larae Bassett in Wichita ks. Don't use cox communications! There customer service is horrible. They take my $ and don't keep there end of the agreement. I beg please don't hang up on me. And I can't get my $ back or use my internet service!

Cox Communications is a joke.

Where to even begin. I don't know how it's possible for Cox to even exist with this awful service. Currently only using their internet service against my will(in brothers home and no control over what he selects), but being back for only 2 weeks and having to use the service, I am beyond irate. Not only is it laughably slow and likely heavily throttled, but on a consistent basis for the last 2 weeks, I have experience MULTIPLE outages per day - literally at least 3 to 4 per day, that just happen for no reason whatsoever. Even worse, is they last anywhere from 10 minutes up to even 4 hours once, but on average 20-30 minutes. This is unacceptable. Their internet service is a joke and I will be begging and pleading to have UVerse setup in this place in the very near future. It should be a crime that the places Cox has a monopoly on have to pay for this atrocious excuse for internet service. Using the internet for work, I require at least decent speed and UP TIME. That is not to say I have not experienced outages with even the best service, but multiple outages on a consistent basis is inexcusable and it's a tragedy that this service is even being paid for. They will never get the picture, and I sincerely hope this company goes bankrupt for providing *** poor service to their customers and not giving a *** about fixing anything.

Get ready to hate them more. I heard a rumor they are forcing customers who only have cable to take on more services or else they will raise their internet price.

Outside of more service with the company, I don't get it. Does that count as extortion?

"We don't do gift cards."

I recently set up an internet account with Cox. The representative who set up my account told me that I qualify for a $100 reward card. After waiting a couple of weeks, the only correspondence I got form the company was a thank you letter, a bill, and an advertisement; no card. So I called about the status of my reward card. The man on the other end said simply "We don't do gift cards." He tried to see where the miscommunication came from, but everyone he messaged said the same thing. So I was lied to by the original representative. I got the reward card for an option I chose in regard to the equipment, if I remember correctly. I feel pretty cheated since I chose the option guaranteeing me a reward card, which apparently "we don't do."

The Internet is expensive..and down again.

The Internet goes down an average of twice a month. Nobody at the call center knows anything that's not on the script. They are underpaid and poorly trained. I want to cancel but they're closed. I'm canceling first thing I the morning. They have horrible customer service in top of all the other bs. Their techs are horrible and know nothing and do extremely sloppy work. I pay way too much for way too little. They get away with poor service because they know they can. I'm tired of it and won't be taken advantage of anymore. I called in tonight and once again, they don't have any idea what's wrong. I have replaced my modem and router to their specifications and they just force me to go through their bs troubleshooting AGAIN as if I were a child. I simply cannot believe that in this age of technology it's virtually impossible to find a reliable Internet connection. Or any media for that matter. They just take our money and give us *** in return.

I moved in my house March last year and have no choice except cox. In a 3 month window I had 11 techs at my house all my wiring has been replaced in the house out side of the house ands to the pole because I am showing I have full internet signal, but I have no server.

What that means is I have no internet access. I was given a $50 credit for limited service for 3 months and now it's starting all over again. I call CS and I am told to reboot which I have already done and it might fix the problem for a few minutes or a few hours or not at all. Most techs come in and immediately want to reboot and leave, I'm tired of the sorry service I am getting and paying premium price.

I am using mobile hotspot from my phone to post this as my internet is not working. I called cs and the agent argued that I have internet service because it is showing on her end that I have it, I tried to explaine that I don't have it regardless of what her end is showing, she was rude and did not or could not comprehend what I was saying so I hung up on her and called back.

I have a tech coming out tomorrow to start over with this problem. I have called corp office in Atlanta and spoke with Ann and she is the one that gave me the generous credit after so many issues (I'm being sarcastic about generous discount) Monday morning I will be on the phone with corporate again, I sure wish I had other options for internet service not to mention the terrible tv lineup of 60 channels that consist of mostly news channels that I never watch and it is costing me over $100 for this terrible service with no other options to choose from.
