Don't try to cancel cox cable. They are very dishonest people. You can't cancel on line. You have to call and then a transfer and then a request to cancel. A big sales pitch. I still want to cancel. They'll tell you ok. Then you find out that you get another bill. You call and question about you cancelling. They said, there's no record of the call and thus you have to pay for another month. Sleeze balls. Somebody needs to put pressure on our overview body to make it where you can cancel and not go through this ordeal. They are corrupt. You know and all of those folks are all in on it. You wonder why our country is like it is. Money... the love to take money from you

What could possibly have prevented you from returning the equipment to the company, whose name sounds like how they act ... ?

You must learn to CYA and should have a nifty little receipt relieving you of obligation. You're probably not going to win this one and shouldn't have let it become a problem.

I have had service with Cox for 2 1/2 years. Pay 107 a month for the highest speed internet, which has never been of a high speed. I called to cancel and they are trying to state I am in a 3 year contract. I hung up mad. The next day I submitted an online ticket to cancel. After 4 tickets they finally called and said we see you called yesterday, I said yes but they tried to say I was in a 3 year contract so I got mad and hung up. He said I do not see a contract on your account. I said great then had him credit some bogus charges (3 $55 reconnect fees on the same day and two $10 payment charges) then he transferred me to the retention department. That guy then tells me there is a 3 year contract. He said he would send it to me by email along with disconnect form. I get the contract, account number is different and no signature. How can you claim someone who has never read this 3 year contract nor signed it is in a 3 year contract. I would have never agreed to 3 years with early penalty of 100% of monthly commitment for extent of the contract. I am going to have to take this to court. They are now saying I owe over $600! I had a 0 balance and was a customer for 2 1/2 years and this is how they treat me. They will put this on my credit report making others think I am a bad payer, when in reality Cox has fraudulent business practices. This contract is not valid!

Hello Today on Transcontinental in Metairie service van #33744 was blocking the sidewalk. My friend is in a wheelchair and I had to bring her out onto Transcontinental to get to the corner. The service man was at a corner house and could have parked on the side street. We walk this area a few times a week and it is not safe on busy Transcontinental. First you have to go down a driveway curb backwards into Transcontinental and go about twenty yards before getting to the corner. COX communication is monopolized money extortion business. Services are way to expensive and prices increase every 6 months for 15%. This is unacceptable and something needs to be done but I don't know by whom to start controlling pricing until COX monopoly is eliminated. No other businesses are as agresive increasing prices as crooks at COX. We the people in Louisiana simply don't have choice, direct TV by AT&T is the same crooking story, same monopoly with no competition. Cox Communications review in Metairie, Louisiana: Incapable of resolving outages for cable TV

I've had TV cable service with Cox Cable in the New Orleans area (Metairie) since August 2016 (3 months), and had long-term outages twice (once for 12 hours due to a thunderstorm), and currently for over 24 hours, also due to a rainstorm. Still have no service and no one in "customer service" can even tell me where their technicians are in resolving the issue. It's Nov. 8, election night, no cable service, no concept of when it can/will be repaired. How does Cox Communications even keep its license, never mind poor customer service. Customers are at their mercy, for seemingly unwilling to hire enough - or competent - employees to meet customer needs. There are options -- DIRECT TV - or simply cancel Cox in protest until it learns how to run its company with efficiency.

I just bundled my internet and home phone with cox cable what a nightmare from uninformed disgruntled insatlation person . I am still not able to access the security suite to install virus protection . 2 weeks of calls being transferred 6 times on one call just to end up where i started. If the problem is not taken care of in the next two day I will be making a call to another provider. wish i would have bundled with at&t I plan going to cox store where i set up the bundle package and see if i can get a solution to this matter

Two months my main TV in my living room went out during a storm. To sum up my experience as of now. I have had 4 technicians out 2 that were subcontractors and one Cox cable tech. All of them had a different explanation for the cable box not working. The last tech. explained it was my HDMI cable that went bad and Cox does not drop new lines I would have to find someone to do the work. My house is 6 years old. All up to date wiring. So I relied on this experienced and trained cable tech. to inform me on what to do. Well after hiring someone to put holes in my ceiling and in the crown molding to reach our TV.... The cable box was hooked up and still did not work. I decided to pull a cable box from another room and hook it up. Wow, it worked. So after four technicians and over a $1000 worth of labor, sheet rock, resurfacing of ceiling and patching crown molding, then painting. It comes down to me a nurse not even a technician to figure out it's the box. So I have contacted Cox cable yesterday to inform them: they need to get a supervisor out to my house and the extensive repairs I must complete now. No one will return my call. One person "Lonnie" the cable supervisor said he would contact me yesterday to visit my home. No phone call yesterday. I've called two additional times... No return call. After years of service this is unacceptable customer service. Next step to email the CEO and maybe 6 on your side news.
