NBA TV Blackout

I was super excited to watch the Thunder scrimmage the Celtics on NBA TV today. I took the afternoon off of work, got some snacks, and set up on the couch only to find that the game was blacked out. It's not on TV in OKC at all, and now I've got to watch the game on my phone. This sucks. What a terrible policy. I should have stayed at work. I can understand blacking out the game if it's on local tv, or a home game that tickets are available, but neither of these apply. It seems to me that with the restart of the league, you'd want to make the games as accessible as possible. Please do what you can to correct this for future games.

On work order ticket # CS0008025622 dated 2-10-2020 Tech was 25 minutes late for appointed time without a phone call. TCOXhe technician after climbing pole outside tracked muddy snow onto front door throw rug (Very light colored beige). As I mentioned to him he looked inside his slip-on shoe covers, and they were loaded with dirt. Then after taking him into the basement, so he may check inside cable connectors. I simply asked him turn off the lights when finished, he didn't. I felt like I was dealing with some child, this was after retiring from over 20 years technical management.

Not honoring $400.00 rebate I was promised when I went back to Cox

I have spoken to several representatives with no resolve. I have been told that just because I was given the wrong information from one of these representatives that I would be penalized and not going to recieve my rebate. I did my part and Cox did not do theirs. I use to think after many years of service with Cox that they were great. It is hard for me to believe that since I was steered wrong by a Cox rep that they cannot do the right thing. In the end this will cost Cox more than the $400.00 visa gift card. I will be reporting to the Better Business Bureau and if no resolve there I will be filing a claim I Fairfax County small claims court and that will just be the start of my mmission. I have alll the time in the world to make all of this happen. Sorry to have to go to this but as a loyal customer I am tired of getting a run around

Cox Self Install Kits Are Defective

Multiple customers can get their wireless self install kits to work... The Contour Remote that is packaged in the kit...is refurbished product. Cox ships it to customers without removing the micro- code from the last customer. The remote will not "pair or synch with the wireless modem.... Cox installation guide fails to tell the customer to punch into the Contour remote the code "981". This code removes the existing micro- code allowing it to "pair and synch." I had 4 Cox tech reps come out and all of them told me to go to the Cox Store. The Cox Store self install kits have the same problem. I finally called Corporate Office to report the defect

Service drops out, poor customer service, and rediculus service lead times.

Signed up just a year ago since we received the service ( cable and WiFi) we get drop outs on an average of two to three times a week. Today our service was working great. A Cox truck pulled up and by the time it left we had no service. Our bill is always paid on time so there is no issue there. So anyway we call customer service and they tell us there is a wide area outage in our area and it should be up in an hour or two. Several hours pass and still no service. We contact then thru messenger and get told there is no issue with our service to try rebooting which we did several times. Finally we get told they will have to send a service tech and the soonest time would be Monday at 10:09am. Note is Saturday late noon when we are told this. I say 10:00 Monday will be ok and they reply back saying it is no longer available. They give a new date of Thursday (5 days later) so I say ok but I wasn't happy with it. I call customer service and we go thru the entire rebooting again and told there was no problem with our service. When all the rebooting failed we get told we would have a service tech Tuesday and when I expressed my dissatisfaction they then said they could do it Monday (getting better) so we accept Monday between 3:00 and 5:00pm. Two hours later we get a message saying the gave us the wrong information that there was a bad signal coming from our home so the disconnect service and they cancelled the tech for Monday and we had to wait until Thursday again. First of all why wouldn't they notify us when they so called discontinued service. And to clarify it was coming from our home all they had to do was disconnect the cable at the box on the house or at the pole. That was never done and they are still connected. Once they were positive it was coming from our home they should of investigated then or at least notify us. By the way they had the nerve to say if we took out a service agreement for a fee if course we would get better service. I will be stopping them by months end. Worst cable service I have ever seen.

I lots of problems I thought with my cable box. I called Cox the guy came out said he did some stuff and left. It was still bad. A young man came today on August 31st 2019 I had recently changed some of the things on my service they had a hard time getting my Netflix hooked up. I finally gave up and didn't do it. This guy called somebody and they did something and he did something and they figured out that the whole thing was a mess on my account they straightened it out my TV Works wonderful cheers for Cox. Thank you

Paid bill and made an appointment for someone to come out for service

Daughter called after payment was made and the guy that took the call was rude, rude, rude. He told my daughter that the bill had not been paid and that just under $200.00 was owed. However it was not owed as a MISTAKE had been made and was corrected when my husband paid the pill. Aside from being nasty and inconsiderate he called my daughter sir. My daughter corrected the guy and he said "you sound like a man so I will call you sir! My daughter is a transgender and this was bullying, disrespectful, harassing and discriminating! My daughter said she would take him to court for his actions. The guy from cox would not give my daughter his name. Plus the cox guy cut all service (cable, phone, internet, and security). My daughter lives in a high crime area and this is very concerning! The nameless cox guy also called the cops and said that my husband and daughter threatened him! Like what were they going to do come through the phone to KENTUCKY and ring his neck???!!! And who wouldn't feel like that after the nameless cox guy was adamant, very persistent and abrupt that money was owed when in actuality it was not. My husband tried to explain to him that it was just paid and needed to be posted yet. WHAT KIND OF PEOPLE DO YOU HIRE THERE At COX???? I have personally spoken with numerous people at Cox and they were very polite and helpful but I guess in customer service, or whatever department this guy worked in, one has to be a bully, jerk, loud and just plain ugly in manner!!!! Customer service used to be where problems were worked out but obviously those day are over. Judy Hansen

BUT...He said he had to reprogram the 2 controllers to match my 2 tvs. Now I have to use both controls to make a tv work. One control will only allow on/off button and volume. Other one works except not on/off or volume. This happened on Sunday Nov the 25th. Appt was set up at store level... Store is at 6005 East Southern Ave Mesa Az My customer service person was Lauren Hufford. I reached her thru email and her reply was to fix it myself by using help line or she could send a tech for an ADDIONAL $75 !!! WHY ? The problem was caused by YOUR tech which I willing paid... BUT THIS WAS YOUR FAULT !! I am not ruling out Dish or Direct and just have you send me a refund of my acct balance of a credit of almost $500 !!

The person I spoke with at Cox was courteous but hands are tied by a cable company that has no competition in this state other than dish and Verizon Fios. What ever happen to antitrust laws that were passed 75 years ago. I picked up two mini boxes 3 years ago. Hooked one up and never hooked up the other. Ended up with DVR and a mini box for Contour. So, I've been paying $2.99/month for just over 3 years. They are aware that I only have 1 mini box hooked up. Somehow over the past 3 years I miss placed the unused mini box. Cox will take the charge off my monthly fee but will charge me just under $60 for the box. First off the box is not worth anywhere near $60. I asked if they could waive the charge. After the customer service person spoke to her supervisor Jesse. She didn't know his last name (wow). By the way, I have been with Cox for 39 years. Think I'm a good customer. They could care less!! If you owned a business and had a customer who has been a loyal on-time bill payer for 39, would you respond the same way.

We can compare cox with another provider because we also live in another state. Cox charges at the very highest rates, they make you play the game of going to another provider in order to get their highly publicized deal. The longer more loyal a customer is to Cox the less service and benefits customers receive. They are a greedy company. For example Their vacation services are packaged so the monthly cost is the highest, the cost and length of time the services must be paid for is excessive. In order to qualify for their promotion packages, it is necessary to leave them and return. This is stupid management, but it works for them because obviously most people can’t take the time to go through the steps to return all the equipment etc etc.

Cox rewards new customers at the expense of existing customers. Loyal customers are treated like dirt.

Bad business practice. Cox does not discriminate. They screw every one equally. I cut the cord long ago.

I get good TV on antenna. Dont miss a monthly bill from Cox.
