Some channels on my contour TV are in another language than English. I have tried unsuccessfully to put all my channels on English. How do I fix this????

Bogus equipment charges

I am being charged for equipment that I have never had with cox. The customer service rep was unable to find any equipment other than the modem for internet service which I still because I still have internet service. The charge is $129.32 that now they have to investigate to remove but did not have to prove to charge. This is totally crooked and now I have to prove that I have no equipment that was never sent to me.

We have been requesting internet service to our new home for two months and keep getting the run around. Cox has not attempted to make the connection to our home and we keep getting the run around when we call. Every time we call we get a different excuse and no one ever seems to find any information on our previous calls. Very disappointing and frustrating!!

Go with Windstream. They have been making an attempt to improve, and I believe they deserve a chance.

As for Cox, cancel while they don't take all of your money!

Our service always drops, and Internet speeds are not what they should be half of the time. I think they are way over priced, especially for the lousy service you receive.

I have been with Cox for a while now and I have never been treated so poorly by anyone in this company. I had recently moved and had my home package transferred and also upgraded it. The technician did the install and ran the cable wire from one outlet, across the hallway and used slitters to the rooms upstairs. First off when I saw how he was running the wires I asked if there was another option because it is a tripping hazard and he told me no. That was the only way to do it. The internet kept kicking us off and the TV's would go pitch black in the middle of programs regardless if it was live, On Demand or DVR. I called a few times and they decided to send out a technician and he replaced a wire because he said that was the issue. Well to my surprise it did not fix the problem, so I called again and again. I continuously have to do manual resets and have them research the error codes on their end and reset it for me. Well my issues have been getting worse, my son cannot watch TV in his room and I am now getting errors that say there are no programs available. Then the box does a reset by itself every 5 minutes and the internet boots us off to the point I can't use my own wifi at home. I am paying extra for the contour, extra boxes, the bundle and premium channels. It pissed me off when they sent another technician to my house today and he goes upstairs and asks me who ran the wires and slitters? I told him that it was the guy who did the install and he said it was the only way to do it. He said that that was not correct and it was a safety hazard. He went outside and looked appalled that the installer wrapped the wires around my house. The way he did it was unnecessary and with all the splitters he used it is causing me not to have service upstairs. He said that he can come back a re-wire the connection for $75.00. First off why would I have to pay for a job that was done wrong to begin with, and when I called customer service Tim said that he would take $50.00 off my bill. That was nice and all but I am paying almost $200.00 a month for cable and internet that does not work, I do not understand how I am getting charged full price for half **** service. I asked to speak to someone else who could assist me further and he transferred me to Terri in Consumer Solutions. This is where I absolutely lost it. She was not listening to me, she kept saying that she wouldn't know about the wiring because she is not a technician. She wouldn't even listen to me speak but she says that either I would have to pay $75.00 or pay for the additional wire protection plan. I tried again to explain to her the issues but she got an attitude and said if I did not like it she can cancel my plan all together. She again repeated that those are my only options, pay 75.00 or pay for the protection plan or she will cancel my service. In a matter of minutes I was not only threatened but I was insulted as well. I have been a loyal customer for years and now I am looking at their competitors. I will not continue to pay money towards a company who will treat their customers this way.

Call COX Corporate Customer Service at 888 566 7751. Explain calmly your ordeal.

They will get right on it.

I will be shocked if they do not get you quick resolution and fix your issue. Been there, done that...........good luck

Unreliable Service Review

Very unreliable I own a restaurant and on Friday night while busy cox went down and couldn't process credit cards, I had a mob of angry people on my hand and I lost a lot of money that time, and that's the 5th time it has happened, I'm switching to verizon, cox you are not reliable at all thanks for nothing.

Bad Service Review

Cox is by far the worst cable company I've ever done business with . On demand is supposed to be just that ON DEMAND .. They take forever to put things on demand .. And on top of that On demand always have technical difficulties . The wireless sucks . This company sucks altogether . I'm very VERY unsatisfied with this *** service . I would never recommend Cox cable to anyone . Comcast is 20x better ..

HD Cable cuts in and out, internet has to be reset monthly

HD cable cuts in and out for ~1-3 seconds. I have tried the online troubleshoot, checked that everything is plugged in, reset the box and to no avail nothing is fixed. It seems to happen more often when watching football or other programs with a lot of moving color. This only happens with HD channels. Also my "high speed internet" from COX will go out about once a month and I will have to call cox to have them reset the router, phone calls usually last 10-15 minutes. I am upset with all this because these services are very expensive. I grew up with comcast and never had any of these problems.

Cable Out, Again

No programs available, can't watch on-demand on the free HBO weekend that THEY advertised, no other channels available; choppy, unwatchable pay-per-view on-demand movies; movies advertised on Cox On-demand are not available in new releases (e.g., Beasts of the Southern Wild), extremely limited selection of on-demand movies and TV shows, nothing near as good as Comcast; cable is down REGULARLY Why do I need to enter at least 100 words? Service and DVR horrible

Have had them for two year, they raise the price I you without any notice, or explanation. The DVR box absolutely sucks no matter how many times its replaced. When you fast forward near the end it will jump right to the end. Fast forward at any point in the show will slow down then when you press play it has jumped 10 min ahead, so by the time you get back to the show it is just easier to watch commer ials. Recorded shows OFTEN don't even play. About the only thing good about them is getting rid of them.

Charged me for equipment outside my home I don't have access to.

I've been "bundled" and the t.v. only had some channels that worked while others didn't. Problems with pixels on the screen and no audio. Then the phone and internet stopped working completely. If there was some emergency and I needed the phone, something terrible could have happened. Not everybody has a cell phone within reach, if at all. First off they offered and agreed tot the appointment time. Then they showed up about 6-1/2 hours late. I work from home and could not work, use the landline, or use the t.v. Inconveniently the few channels I enjoy were out. They said that they could swap out the box I had...for an additional monthly fee because he said what I was using wasn't compatible. The issues still persisted and then the guy told me that the "splitter" needed to be replaced. He did the replacement and I received my bill to find a $69.99 fee for a service call! I wasn't told about this, just charged it and I was charged for them making a repair to their equipment. Equipment I don't even have access to and did not break. Further, they came out and sold me on a monthly rental for replacement of a box that apparently was doing the job. What shysters!

Apparently I was not clear enough for two people, likely Cox employees, that anonymously voted BS. I was told by the repairman that there was a problem with a splitter/something that is located (jargon I don't understand) outside in their equipment box. I have no business going near or touching their locked equipment and have never done so.

I only had their services a few months. Their faulty equipment is located in this locked outdoor box that I never had access to, they showed up over six hours late and I was charged a $69.99 service fee for them coming out to fix their faulty equipment. On top of this the repairman blamed the pixels/squares on the screen on the fact that I was using a Verizon modem and router.

That is the point at which he sold me on renting an all in one Cox router/modem box to provide the phone, cable, and internet services. I did so but am STILL seeing pixels/squares on the screen and losing audio on various channels. I am paying for services that are not working properly. And the first time when everything went out the cox repair person came late. The service went out on a Saturday and they refused to come out until Monday. I could not work from home Saturday or for half the day on Monday.I lost more than the $69.99 and when you add in the cost of the monthly rental that did NOT change the pixels and audio loss, this is why I rate the monetary loss at $154.

COX Internet RIP-OFF

I have been a cox user for both TV, Internet and Phone for over 10 years. I signed up for their Premier Internet at 25mb download and unlimited data access in 2001. Today, I get an email from them, stating that I have exceeded my monthly download limit????? WT? So I call Cox. Spoke to 3 different people, and got the run around as usual. According to one of the agents I spoke to, there has never been any unlimited plan with Cox, that all plans have always had a download limit, but they had never enforced it in the past, but they have been since their Policy change in 2011. NO, a policy change was not mailed, it's available online (today was the first time I have been on the Cox website in over 2 years, and I told the rep that). In their online account tools, you can now go in a see your daily download usage, I told the rep, it is funny that it shows me downloading over 50GB, yes gigabite, not megabite, on days that I was not even at home and my compouter was off (I live alone), her reply was that I needed to secure my wireless, I am a computer systems technician (30 years), it's all secured. The kicker, she tried to sell me an upgrade package, to their Ultimate Package, 50Mbps/400GB limit, yea, at 3 times the price I am paying for 25Mbps/250GB. I am going to look through my old papers for that contract, it may take a few days (maybe weeks lol), and if I find it, I am going to the local store and have a nice discussion with the manager, I'm not talking to any reps, want something done, go to the top. COME ON VERIZON FIOS (i am switching as soon as it's available in my area)
